《Our Eternity : Emmett Cullen x Reader》The Night Before

They'd been gone for at least 20 minutes and I couldn't help the overwhelming jealousy growing inside me. I know, (Y/n)'s heart belong's to me. And he's her best friend so, of course, she cares about him. But man, that wolf get's under my freaking skin.

Jasper and Edward ran off to see if either of them could track her scent through the trees. I sighed out loud without even realizing it.

"Emmett. She's fine you know that right?" Bella tilted her head and looked at me. I looked at her and groaned.

"I know. It's just... Why couldn't he take you?" Bella belted out laughing and I glared at her.

"Because you know whether it was today or tomorrow. Either day he would have been the one to scoop her up anyways. Jacob's her best friend and they've always been close."

"But he likes her... and I'm just..." I sighed. "Afraid." I admitted honestly. I wasn't one to typically show vulnerability.

"Emmett, (Y/n)'s always going to have a soft spot for Jacob. But even when you were gone she never truly opened her heart for him. Her heart has always belonged to you from the moment you two laid eyes on each other. Just remember, she's trying to get through this the same as you. I know she loves you, and maybe there's a part of her that's confused on her feeling towards him. But no matter what happens, you're her happy ending." Bella spoke truthfully and smiled. Placing a comforting hand on my shoulder.

"I really love her, Bella." I breathed.

"I know."

"I'm, uh, going to take her out to our spot later... I plan on giving her this, if she'll have me." I pulled out a small black box from my pocket and opened it showing her the ring I had made for (Y/n).

It was a simple silver band with vines crawling up the sides. Small silver leaves elegantly placed along them. With a circular, stunning diamond, placed delicately in the middle.

"Emmett." She said breathlessly. "She's going to love it."

"Better not be proposing to my girlfriend there, Emmett." Edward said laughing as he came out of the tree line.

"Nah, sorry, Bella. You stuck with my loser brother." I poked fun at him. "No. I was just showing her the ring. Hopefully I have her blessing." I glanced back at her, hopeful.

"Of course you do." She laughed. "So how'd it go?" She returned her attention to the now appearing Jasper.

"All we picked up is wolf stench. No, (Y/n)." He said as he approached. I gave him an unintentional annoyed look. "This will work." Jasper tried to reassure me.

"Great." I said bitterly.

After Jacob finally rounded back around to the guys, Emmett said he had something to do and that he'd see me later. Edward, I guess, told Bella the same thing and we drove home together in the truck. When we arrived we came across a site we would have never expected. Dad and Alice were exiting the house. Smiling and laughing. Bella and I both couldn't help but smile at their interaction but that certainly didn't cease our peaked curiosity.

"Okay, Alice, don't be a stranger." Dad said before we walked back inside the house.

"Okay." She giggled and walked towards Bella and I, as we walked up the walkway.

"What was that about?" Bella smiled and looked at her curiously.

"Your alibi's for the battle are all arranged." Alice replied happily.

"Really?" I said surprised.

"I told your father that our whole family's going camping this weekend, so us three will have a sleepover at my house. Charlie's going fishing, anyway."

"Charlie? You guys are on a first name bases now?" I laughed lightly.

"Me, he likes." She smirked before her face turned more serious. "Actually, Bella and Edward will have the house mainly to themselves tonight. Emmett said something about taking you somewhere first." Alice shrugged. I looked at her confused.

"Oh?"

"Yeah, we are all going hunting. Powering up for the battle. So, you're both welcome." She skipped off to her car and sped away. Bella was all smiley for some strange reason.

"You look excited to get some alone time." I wiggled my eyebrows at her.

"Oh, yeah. Really excited for that." She giggled and walked up the stairs to the door. I frowned at her sarcasm and yet she still seemed awfully bubbly.

"Hi, Dad." I greeted as we entered the kitchen.

"Hey. Either of you want a sandwich?"

"No, thanks."

"I'm good."

"Well, the sister, I like." He turned to us with a smile.

"Alice. Yeah, she's great." I said happily, and began to wash the couple of plates in the sink. I handed them to Bella as they were done and she hand dried them putting them away.

"So, hey, Dad. I was wondering... Why didn't you get remarried? After Mom." Bella questioned him suddenly. I stopped the water and dried my hands looking between the two curious about his answer as well.

"Uh..." He looked stunned at her question. "I don't know. I guess I still haven't met the right gal." Dad looked at her more intensely. "Why?"

"I don't know. I thought you just maybe gave up on the whole institution of it, of marriage." Bella said to him nervously. "But do you think there's any value in it?"

Dad put down the mustard he had in his hands and looked back at her.

"Yeah. Yeah, marriage has value... When you're both older. Much older. Like your mother, it seemed to work out fine for her the second time around, later in life." He kept putting so much emphasis on the later aspects, I had to do all I could not to laugh. If only he knew she'd been proposed to a few times and she's said no every time. She must have been rethinking her answer.

"I mean, you definitely don't wanna have to get married because you weren't... uhm, careful." He said awkwardly.

"What?" Bella looked at him confused and I couldn't hold it in anymore. I started to laugh. Hard. They both looked at me.

"Dad's trying to tell you he doesn't want you to have to get married because you're pregnant or something." I said between my laugh's. All to funny to me because that's exactly why she's been saying no.

"Okay. God. Please don't try to have 'the talk' with me, please." She cringed at him and moved away.

"Well," He put his hands up in surrender. "It's just as embarrassing for me as it is for you. I mean, I've got two teenage daughter's."

"I doubt it's as embarrassing, Dad." I said to him as my laughter subsides.

"Don't think you're not included in this little discussion young lady." He sent me a pointed look.

"Oh no! Don't bother. Mom beat you to it like ten years ago, okay?" I told him getting flustered now. Bella chuckled at the sudden change of events.

"Well, you guys didn't have boyfriend's ten years ago."

"I'm sure thing's work the same way." Bella pointed out.

"Alright, so.. both of you guys are taking precautions and..." He tried to ask awkwardly.

"Oh for the love of..." I groaned and cringed.

"Dad, please don't worry about that... Edward is old school."

"Same with Emmett!" I chimed in.

" 'Old school'. Great. What's that? like, code for something?" He looked at us incredulously.

"Oh, my god. Dad. I'm a virgin!" Bella and I both shouted at the same time. We looked at each other and then back at him.

"AH!" Dad put his hand's up near his ear's and made gibberish noises. "Okay! Good. Glad we've got that covered." He said scrunching up his nose.

Both Bella and I booked it upstairs to our individual room's and shut ourselves in. I packed a bag for the night and shortly after Dad left for work, Emmett picked me up and Bella headed off to the Cullen house.

"So, where are we going?" I asked curiously. Emmett glanced at me nervously and smiled.

"I, uh, thought given everything going on. We haven't had much time for a date lately. So." He stumbled a bit on some of his word's which made me look at him and giggle.

"Are you okay? You seem nervous? I swear if you could sweat, you'd be sweating right now." I pointed out.

"Nah, I'm good. Totally cool." His attempt to assure me was very noticeable and made me laugh a little harder.

"Okay, whatever you say."

We drove off aways and he suddenly handed me a silky cloth.

"Put this on before we go any farther."

"Are you serious?" I gave him an incredulous look.

"Deadly, now come on do it." He laughed. I muttered under my breath but complied anyways.

After about 10 minutes I could feel the car come to a stop. Emmett climbed out and then opened my door, grabbing my hand and guiding me out.

"I know how much you love pranks so don't run me into anything will you? I swear, Emmett." I grumbled and put my hands forward curiously. I felt his cold hands take mine and he lifted me onto his back.

"How's this? Much more trust worthy, right?" He chuckled and I giggled nodding, still blinded by the cloth. He sped us through what I assumed was the forest being that I could smell the trees, the dirt, and the silence was deafening beside the occasion crickets sounds. He came to a stop and put me down. Leaving my feet on the ground and stood in front of me removing the blind fold.

"Emmett, why..."

I opened my eyes to see his giant goofy smile as he looked at me. Over his shoulder, I could see our spot at the water fall. In the center of the clearing was four wooden posts set up with little fairy lights twisted around them. In the center a small round table with two chairs, a white table cloth laid across the table and a vase with a single rose in the center. I walked towards the area, mouth agape, in complete awe.

"Do you like it?" Emmett asked quietly as he came up behind me, wrapping his arms around my waist. His chin rested on my shoulder.

"Emmett, I-I absolutely love it... Did you do this yourself?" I hugged his arms with my own.

"Most of it, Edward helped me get this stuff out here. I asked Alice for a bit of inspiration, so it's her vision but still my handiwork. I put it all together." He replied proudly.

"Babe, it's so beautiful. Thank you. You didn't have to do all this. I would have just been happy coming and dipping our feet in the water." I laughed softly.

"Of course I did, (Y/n). You deserve it." He kissed me sweetly. "Oh here. This is part one of tonight. I thought it was only fair that I get to be represented as well." He took my wrist that had my bracelet given to me by Jacob on it and placed a small (Y/f/c) crystal heart on it.

"Wow. It's beautiful. Thank you." I kissed him again and then we both took a seat at the table. I folded my hands on the table and look at him lovingly. "Okay so what are we doing?"

"Well, (Y/n). I have a few activities to keep us busy. I brought you this." He pulled out a picnic basket and took out a single wine flute, with a small glass bottle of a non-alcoholic, fruity cocktail. Next he took out a small plastic dish with (Y/F/F) inside. Then finally a small container of mixed fruits.

"I hate that I'm the only one who eats." I told him with a laugh. "But thanks for picking out my favorites." I grinned widely and pulled the food over to myself.

"Okay, okay. So. I know you like to be creative. So we are going to be doing these." He pulled out two white canvas boards with a handful of paints from underneath the table.

"Oh! So like a wine and paint! That's such a great idea. And so romantic." I smiled at everything he'd done for me so far. "Geez, got anymore stuff to pull out from under your magical hat, huh? If you do I might just have to marry you on the spot." I joked and his body stiffened. I awkwardly cleared my throat and he adjusted his collar.

"Let's us set these up." He said quickly.

Emmett set up the canvas's and we both painted quietly. It was certainly quiet. Quiet and relaxing. I drank my drink and painted the waterfall. It came out really good and I was really proud of it. I turned it and showed Emmett and he grinned at me turning his paining showing his was of the forest. It looked almost like our painting were two half's of one whole.

I enjoyed some of my food as we talked. I told him about the awkward conversation I had with my father before we left, which made Emmett laugh loudly, making it echo throughout the forest. As the little bit of sunlight we had began to fade away, Emmett pulled out a small stereo and put in a CD. It must have been one of Edward's classical music disc's.

"May I have this dance, mi'lady?" Emmett bowed and held out a hand to me. A large grin came across his face.

"Of course, dear sir." I said in fake accent grabbing his hand.

He pulled me to my feet and put his hand's on my waist as I wrapped my arm's around his shoulder's. We danced and swayed together along to the sweet music. Pecking each other's lip's from time to time. Song after song we danced as the sun disappeared from sight. The only light left, illuminated around us by the fairy lights.

"You know how much I absolutely adore you?" Emmett asked softly twirling me around before pulling me back into his chest.

"I can only guess and hope it's as much as I do, you." I said sweetly and he smirked.

Placing a loving kiss to my lips. I kissed back, running my hands on the back of his head. He pulled away after a couple minutes and moved away from me, making me pout. He chuckled and dug around in his pocket.

He pulled out a small black box, and Emmett Cullen, got down on one knee.

My stomach was running wild with fireworks booming through me. My hands flew to my mouth as soon as he got down on one knee. I was in complete shock. I could feel the warm tears begin to pool in my eyes.

"(Y/N) (Y/M/N) Swan, from the moment I first set eyes on you. I knew then and there, that you were going to be my forever. There could never be another person as perfect for me as you. You complement me in all the best ways. You're the other half to my being. You're my best friend, my light in a dark world, my love, and my soulmate. You're so opinionated and stubborn. But, you're genuinely caring, and forever putting others above yourself. You're funny and kind. Any room you walk into lights up because of your presence. I promise to love you each and everyday like you absolutely deserve. (Y/n), would you do me the extraordinary honor of marrying me?"

I nodded furiously and threw my arms around his neck.

"Yes! A million times yes! Of course I'll marry you, Emmett Cullen." I sobbed through happy tears. He stood up, with me still attached to his neck, wrapping my legs around his waist. "I love you." I said as I pressed my tear soaked face against his lips.

I'm sure he could taste the salty wetness from my ever falling tears but he didn't stop or push away. He deepened the kiss and we stood there for a few minutes enjoying every second of this pure bliss.

"I love you so much my future Mrs. Cullen." Emmett pulled away from the kiss and chuckled. "Are you going to let me put the ring on you now?"

I laughed and untangled my legs from around him. He set me down and took out the beautiful ring from the box and slid it onto my left ring finger. I admired it on my hand and just how gorgeous it was. The silver band with vines and small leaves, a diamond protruding right in the center. It was absolutely gorgeous, and reminded me of the forest, which Emmett loved so much.

Emmett picked me up and carried me bridal style back to the jeep. He drove us back to his home and he carried me inside. Once we entered his room, I noticed there was an actual bed waiting. The first thing I wanted to do was share the new's with my best friend, besides Emmett. I wanted to see my sister. Emmett stopped me since it was so late and he was positive Bella was asleep. So I was going to have to wait until morning to tell her our good news. Emmett and I climbed into the bed and snuggled up close together. I admired my ring for a while and eventually fell into a comfortable sleep on his chest.
