《Our Eternity : Emmett Cullen x Reader》Eclipse: Conditions

It's been 2 months since the Cullen's returned to Forks. When Bella and I skipped town, so she could rescue Edward, let's just say, Dad was less than pleased. He was pretty upset at us both for taking the guy's back so easily, because of the hell we went through and put him through when they left. Bella and I both accepted our punishment from him which according to him was to be grounded for the rest of our lives. We knew what we put him through and thought it was a pretty fair punishment. Given the changes that were soon to come.
"Here ya go, old man." I chuckled and handed him another beer.
"Thanks, (Y/n/n)." He rolled his eyes and chuckled.
Dad cracked open the beer can and took a sip. Bella and Edward were out, so Emmett thought it would be a great idea to come over and watch the game with him. He hated being on Dad's bad side, so he'd been doing anything to get back the golden child, boyfriend award. Dad was comfortable in his chair, while Emmett and I took the couch. I was studying more so than paying attention to the game. Emmett helped me out a little while also paying attention to the tv.
"Yes!" Both guy's began hooting and hollering as the team scored another run. Dad even high fived Emmett, which made me laugh.
I was happy to say the least. Happy to have Emmett back, happy to see him and my dad get along as well as they do. But things weren't all that great either. That night we met Jacob in the woods was the last time we'd seen him. He was avoiding me and I understood why but it certainly didn't make it hurt any less.
"Okay, this essay is done. Finally." I breathed dramatically and flung myself back onto the couch. I checked the clock on my phone. 3:55. Bella has to be home by four. That's our new curfew. "Hey, Em? It's almost 4. You've got to get going." I reminded him quietly. I showed him my phone and he nodded.
"Alright, I've got some stuff to do tonight. So I'll see you tomorrow?" He held my hands and looked into my eyes. I nodded and he kissed my forehead sweetly. "Thanks for having me over again, Charlie." He told him politely.
"Thanks for watching the game with me. It's a pleasure to have you over." Dad stood and shook Emmett's hand. Both men smiled lightly at each other. Emmett released dad's hand and walked to the doorway giving me a wink before exiting. "You've got a decent guy there, (Y/n)."
"Thanks. I know. I appreciate you trying to get back on a good page with him. He really means a lot to me." I said softly.

Emmett knew how much my dad's approval meant to me. I hated that he was angry, seeing as my Dad was one of my very best friends.
"I know. I just..." He sighed. "I've got to speak to you and your sister when she gets home."
The doorway clicked open and Dad looked at the clock and sighed.
"Four o'clock on the dot. That kid trying to brown-nose me now or something?" Dad glanced over at Bella with a raised brow. She entered the living room and sat next to me on the couch. Bella scoffed.
"He has a name. Now he's too punctual for you?" She said sarcastically. Things between Bella and Dad had been tense. He sighed.
"Okay. You both understand why you're being punished, right?"
"Yes, we put you through hell." I answered him.
"Yes, you did." He stated matter of factly. "But I have other reasons for grounding you. Like, uh... I just want you to get some separation from him." He looked mainly in Bella's direction with a quick glance my way.
"Dad, there's nothing you can say. Edward is in my life." Bella shook her head.
"Same goes for me and Emmett." I pitched in quietly.
"Yeah, yeah. I'm gathering that." He sighed and took another sip of his beer. "So, all right, how about this? I'll make you both a deal. You're not grounded anymore... if... you use your new found freedom to see some of your other friends too." He turned towards me. "I know I'd like for you to see Jacob. Billy said he's going through a really tough time right now. He's really worried about him. I remember when that was you. You needed a friend and Jake was there." I had glanced at Bella and met her eyes.
She knew about what happened and of course she wasn't pleased with him either. I sighed and nodded my head agreeing to try.
I walked upstairs and went into my room. I pulled out my phone and rolled it around between my hands.
"Hey." Bella said as she entered my room.
"I can call him as much as I want to, Bella and he's not going to answer." I laid backwards on my bed with a sigh. She took a seat next to me and put a hand on my leg.
"I know. I'm sorry that's part of your conditions. He was way out of line, trying to tell you what you can and can't do. You've made your choice. Just as I've made mine."
"I know, but I hate feeling like I'm disappointing someone. Like if I choose to stay human, which is a terrible choice really, I'm putting myself and the others at risk. If I chose to change, I disappoint Jacob and even Dad in the long run. We won't be able to see him ever again." I propped myself up on my elbow and looked at her face to see her reaction. Of course she looked at me sympathetically.

"Trust me, I know. I know, I'm not as close to him as you are. But remember what you'd be gaining. A long eternal life, with the loves of our lives and their family that will become ours." She patted my leg. "I love you, and you'll be fine. We will have each other." I smiled at her and hugged her tightly.
"So, how did today go?" I changed the depressing mood to hopefully hear something brighter.
"Ugh." She groaned and tossed herself back onto my bed. "He still refuses to change me, but he tried to offer a compromise today. He said he'd agree to change me if I would marry him."
"Well, why don't you? You get what you want with him changing you, and in return you get married." I shrugged. "It's not like it wouldn't happen eventually with the whole spending forever together thing."
"Yeah, but at our age, it screams I got knocked up." She said sarcastically.
"Well, who says you need to have a big fancy wedding? Heck, you don't really even need to tell anyone if you so chose. You're not a fancy person in case you forgot Bella and honestly neither is he." I chuckled. She pushed my shoulder so I'd fall back onto the bed.
"Alright, maybe your right... But do you really think anyone else would go for that? Alice would throw a fit if she couldn't throw a giant wedding." She laughed at the thought.
"You're probably right, but... Doesn't hurt to add in your own conditions. In exchange for something as giant as marriage, you just have a quiet wedding, elope even. I don't know. Then he can change you." I suggested.
"I'll test it out." She chuckled. "Now try calling Jacob, before Dad re-grounds you."
"Okay, okay. Get out." I pushed her up and she shook her head leaving the room. I sighed and looked at my phone in my hands. I pulled up Jacob Black's contact information and clicked call. It rang and rang, before I heard his voice.
"Hey, it's Jake. Leave a message." I sighed and hung up the phone.
I know what happened that day in the woods had angered us both, but at least I had made an effort to repair our friendship. Jake was ignoring me, phone calls, texts, hell, I even had been giving dad little notes to give to Billy when ever I knew he was going over. Like last month was the last time I had tried getting a note to him and after receiving a note back from him, I didn't write again. I walked to my dresser drawer and pulled it out.
"(Y/n), I don't know why you're making Charlie carry notes to my Dad, like we are in second grade- if I wanted to talk to you I would answer the... He scribbled out those words with a line through them. You made the choice here, okay? You can't have it both ways when... scribbled it out. What part of 'mortal enemies' is too complicated for you to... scribbled it out. Look I know I'm being a jerk, but there's just no way around... scribbled. We can't be friends when your spending all your time with a bunch of... scribbled. It just makes it worse when I think about you too much, so don't write anymore... Crossed out and scribbled. Yeah, I miss you, too. A lot. Doesn't change anything. Sorry. -Jacob."
That last sentence was the one he had decided on was good enough to send back. I could have laughed at something like this normally, telling him to just spit it out and think out a clear thought. But I really couldn't laugh. I was hurt, I wanted my friend back, my best friend. As I ran my fingers over the page, I bucked up the courage for the first time in months to just drive over there. I walked outside in the dark and hopped into the truck.
Given the ever growing threat of Victoria I still wasn't comfortable riding my bike. I turned the key and all it did was stutter. I slammed my hand's on the wheel. Of course the truck wasn't going to start. I put my head on the wheel and sighed. There was a sudden thump from beside me. I stiffened at the sound and slowly turned my head to look. Only to see none other than my boyfriend grinning at me.
"You scared me." I smacked his arm.
"Sorry, babe." He chuckled. His facial expression slowly turned serious. "I'm assuming you were trying to go down to the Reservation."
"How did you.... Alice..." I huffed. "Did you do this to the truck? You know I can fix it, right?" I raised my eyebrow.
"Not in the dark... You don't have a big enough light... (Y/n), you have to understand that your safety is everything to me and I can't protect you over treaty lines." He spoke slowly and softly.
"Jacob won't hurt me!" I scoffed angrily.
"No, not intentionally. But, wolves have no control." He huffed back, crossing his arms.
"I only have until just after graduation to see him, before he won't want anything more to do with me." I pleaded with him sadly.
Emmett only looked back at me sadly and didn't say anything. I huffed and got out of the truck, walking back inside the house.
