"Wake up. You got a visitor",I was startled out of my bed by the guard. I wiped my eyes and rinse my face with water. Dragging myself out the cell, I wonder who would be wanting to talk to me at this time in the morning. Couldn't have been my father cause I just talked to them last night, couldn't have been Khia cause they don't want me talking to her at all. When I entered the all white brick wall room with the window, I saw Marcus on the other side of it. Damn he probably heard what happened.
"Sup man. I see you heard",I said to him when I picked up the phone embarrassed.
"Yeah met up with Khia last night at eb crib. What's going on with you man? I thought you was all talk when you be carrying that glock around."
"It was either I let him hurt her or I hurt him man",I said laughing.
"You know you classified as a murderer now right?"
"In the eyes of the law? Hell yeah."
Marcus laughed.
"So what's goin on at the office? I already know I'm fired so spare me the news",I said.
"Nah man your not fired. You know all them vacation hours you got? Ima use those to cover you while your gone."
"Ight."
"Khia and I got something to get you out of here real soon."
"Is that right?"
"Yeah but it's gonna take a min tho."
"How long we talkin about."
"A week. Two weeks at most",he told me.
"Ight. How Khia holding up?"
"She being strong for you man. Doing everything she can."
"I heard. My ma told me she was."
"Yeah but she not taking good care of herself."

"What you mean?"
"Ebony gotta force her to eat, she slacking on work again."
"Damn. She keep messing around she gonna lose her job",I said putting my head to my forehead.
"But we gone get you outta here man."
"Ight I appreciate it. Tell Khia I love her man."
"She knows it."
I smiled and hung up.
Walking back to the cell, I found my roommate in his side of the room. I was in no need to make no friends in this place so he better stay on his side.
"What you in here for?",he asked me.
"Same thing you in here for",I said sitting on my hard bed.
"Oh so you murdered 3 people too?"
"1",I corrected him.
"Man you'll be out of here in any minute. You got bail?"
"Hell nah cause I be in here so damn much."
"Damn. They said how long you'll be in here?"
"Nah haven't even seen the judge yet to know my sentence."
"Damn. You don't look like some killa."
"Enlighten me. How killers suppose to look?"
"For one, they don't look like church boys."
"How you know I'm a church boy? You and I in the same uniform",I told him.
"Man you ain't built for this",he said with a smirk. I shook my head at him and continued going on about my day.
Khia
Walking around the house, trying to get my things together for work that I was already late to, my Uber driver was nowhere to be found so I canceled him and tried to get someone else. I went outside with my bag in hand and my lunch bag. Trying to juggle my water bottle in my other hand, I dropped my phone on the concrete floor of the driveway and rolled my eyes. This is so not my day.

"I'll get it for you",I looked over and saw trey passing by ebony house. He parked his car in the driveway and got out just to pick up my phone for me.
"Thanks", I said looking to see if my phone screen was cracked or not and thankfully it wasn't.
"Your welcome. Where you headed?",trey asked me in his fancy shoes and dapper law outfit.
"Work. But I have a uber on the way."
"You still work at that dental office?"
"Yeah."
"Hop in, I'll give you a ride."
"I don't think my man would appreciate that so I'm good."
"Your man isn't here right now and let's face it, you don't know when he getting out",he said with a sly smile.
"I'm good. I'd rather walk than to take a ride from you."
"C'mon Khia, you know I'm all talk. Hop in, I won't bite."
I did need a ride to my job cause I was already on the verge of getting fired so I reluctantly agreed. On the ride to my job, he tried to make small talk with me but I wasn't at all interested. Often times he would catch glimpses at me while he be at the red lights and I just turn away cause I don't got time to be entertaining a ex.
"Your losing a lot of weight. Not that you was ever fat or anything",he said.
"What are you trying to say?"
"I'm just worried about you."
"Why should my weight worry you? I'm confused."
"You just don't look like you've been taking care of yourself Khia that's all."
"Why does that concern you?"
"I'm just always concerned about you, I never stopped being."
"Where was your concern when you was out with your girl? And my best friend?"
"C'mon Khia. I was naive and I admit it. Did some things that were crazy and I regret. But I know what I want."
"Good for you."
He touched my hand and I looked at him like he was crazy but at the same time, I couldn't help but think about what life would've been like if I did went back to him. When he got to the office, I reached in my wallet and pulled out a 20 dollar bill.
"Sorry for the gas",I told him while handing it to him.
"Nah you keep that, I'd do it again if I could."
As I put the money back in my wallet, he touched the side of my face and leaned in insinuating a kiss. He looked into my eyes and I looked into his, and saw Santiago's eyes. I backed away from trey and went inside the office closing the door behind me. I went to my office and locked my door.
"Damn girl you ok? Look like you just seen a ghost",my coworker said. I didn't even know why she was in my office to begin with.
"Why are you even in here?",I asked her.
"I needed some coffee."
I settled my things down and sipped on my bottle of water. I took my phone out and texted Marcus.
'Hey. What's the 411?'

I am at least planning to write the book earth fully. It will take time. Rest you can find by reading. Even harsh comments are welcome. It is nothing new to me. The Errant Otherworlder Watanabe
“In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death, taxes and trucks whom transport men to other worlds.” Meet our titular protagonist Haruto Watanabe, a man who has all the markings of a good protagonist for a generic portal fantasy story. As an overworked office worker, to escape from the grips of crippling capitalist alienation, he had taken up to reading many stories where young men like him were transported to other worlds and enjoyed their lives at a most leisurely pace. Armed with genre-awareness and (what he believes to be) a marketable personality which would make him an easy audience self-insert, he longed for the day the isekai express would take him to his long-awaited adventure to another world. When the fateful day came, where the fair yet harsh mistress that is the fabled truck took Watanabe on one last date to the other side, he was most ready to escape his previous life, ready to embark on an errant so great he’d be most overpowered, his heroics so exceptional and his harem so vast that they would barely fit ten or twenty volumes of an overly long novel made by a desperate author looking for quick cash. Lo and behold however, Watanabe instead found himself in a low fantasy world which lacked severely in the department of any game-like systems, cheat skills or easily charmed damsels in distress. In a setting so antithetical to his established genre savviness or any attempts at power fantasy, how will a man like Watanabe, lacking in strength, wits and courage, manage to survive in a land most foreign to him? This is my first time trying to share to the wider world what I’ve written, and I hope you’ll enjoy reading the errantry of Watanabe as much as I enjoy writing about them. I'll be posting one chapter per week on Sundays, along with extra chapters whenever I get the chance to write more than usual.
