"Are you going on your lunch now?",my coworker asked peeking through my office.

"no you can go. I'll go later."

"I asked because your man is here."

"Santiago?"

"Tall, sexy and has freckles?"

"That would be him. I'll go now then. You can send him here",I said chuckling. I stacked the papers and created some desk room that was filled with a thousand papers for the patients I had to put in the system.

Moments later I heard a knock.

"Here he is. Enjoy",my coworker said to us. 'He's hot',she mouthed while closing the door. I laughed and said, "Alright bye."

I got up and hugged tiago. His cologne Calvin Klein 'eternity' cologne smelled so strong on him. He wore a turquoise dress shirt and gray slacks with his Calvin Klein black belt.

"Hey babe",he said setting down the food and kissed me.

"Hey. You just came from work?"

"Yea. I got off a lil earlier than usual. And I know you like to eat so I had to get some food on the way from the restaurant."

I laughed and said, "shut up."

He unpacked the lunch and I was so happy he brought me empanadas cause I was in love with those.

"So how did it go?", I asked him.

"Work was cool."

"Did the manager spoke to you yet about that promotion?"

"Nah not yet babe. I'm beginning to think Marcus was playin."

"I don't think he would play like that. I mean is that old manager still there?"

"Yeah he still coming in every day so idk wasup with that",he said eating rice and beans.

"Just have patience babe. Everything will fall into place in God's timing."

"You said what?",he said looking at me with a smile.

"Uhm everything will work out in God's timing?"

"That's one of the best advice you've given me since we've dated",he joked.

"Your annoying I swear",I said hitting him on the arm.

"What's this?",he said picking up a folder with patient's information and opening it.

"Stop babe that's confidential",I said taking it from him.

"So do you actually clean teeth?"

"No I assist the dentist. That's why it's called dental assistant",I said slowly for him to understand.

"Looks like social work to me",he said causing me to laugh.

"So can I get a free consolation?",he said smiling his pearly whites at me.

"For what? Your teeth are already perfect",I said smiling.

"I need a personal dentist for a monthly clean up though."

"Do you have health insurance?"

"Now you know Mexicans don't need no insurance",he said causing me laugh.

"That was a good one."

"So what time you getting out?"

"Uhm in about a hour and a half",I said looking at my phone.

"Oh Ight. I'll stay and wait for you if you want."

"No it's okay I know your tired babe I couldn't ask you to stay."

"It's cool. Have you spoken to your moms?"

"Not yet."

"You know when she doesn't hear from you, she blows my phone up. We gotta go down there and visit her this weekend",he suggested.

"Yeah I guess."

He kissed me on lips and said he'd wait for me out in the front when I get off work. Moments later I heard a knock on the door and it was my coworker again.

"Girl",she said. Once she said that, I already knew this was about to be a gossiping session that I didn't wanna be apart of unless it involved me.

"What",I said looking up from my laptop.

"You know Brianna was out there flirting with your man right?"

I laughed cause I wasn't surprised because Brianna was a little fast girl anyway. I don't know why they hired her to be a receptionist if she flirts with all the men.

"Girl she was laying it on him."

"What he say?",I said entertaining this convo.

"He was like trying to curve her in a nice way but it's like she didn't get the clue so he just told her he not interested and has a girlfriend. I ain't never seen a guy like that before?"

"A guy like what?"

"A guy that only got eyes for his girl. They don't make em like him anymore. That's all I'm sayin." I laughed and continued working cause I was determined to leave on time today.

It was 5:01 and I had just finish cleaning up my office. I grabbed my belongings and locked up my office. I walked out into the lobby to find tiago sleeping on the couch. He was so tired. Poor baby. I kissed him on the lips causing him to start waking up.

"Aww baby your tired",I said caressing his face.

"Yeah a lil bit", he said humbly but I knew he was extremely tired.

I took the keys out of his pocket and told him I would drive.

Once we arrived at Ebony's house, I saw a familiar car out in the driveway. It looked like trey's black Infiniti car. Santiago sat up and noticed the same thing.

"Wasup with that?",he asked me.

"I don't know babe."

"Better hope he's here for ebony and not you."

I gave him a look and said, "Why you gotta say it like that?"

"No reason bae just been seeing this dude pop up on you one too many times when I'm not around."

Trey got out the house with a bag in hand and waved to us. I waved back and I could tell Santiago was irritated that I did.

He walked me inside the house and I guess decided to stick around. I led him to the guest room I was staying in and said hi to Ebony on the way. Putting my lunch bag down on the counter, I took my hair out of the right ponytail and sat on the bed. I kicked my shoes off and relaxed.

"Why are you always on edge when he's around?"

"Like you don't get on edge when Marisol around",he said with a smirk.

"I don't cause I know there's no chance for her."

"Wish I could say the same for you",he said sitting on the edge of the bed.

"What is it do I have to do to prove to you that I'm all in with you tiago?"

"Why'd you wave back at him?"

"Because that's rude not to babe. And besides, that used to be my best friend tiago."

"Used to be. So was that him calling you Sunday when we went to the buffet?"

"Yes it was. He left a voicemail message saying it was about the case."

"Why he feel like he can call you anytime he want?"

"What's your point tiago?",I said feeling myself getting mad.

"Why you making him feel comfortable? When I don't want him around you."

I just picked up my phone and starting going on social media because Santiago was really trippin right now.

"Your tired and need some rest."

"I need MY girl to be MY girl and not no one else's. You making this dude feel like he got a shot."

"The way your acting right now, he just might."

I guess what I said set it off for him. Cause he looked at me for a min and said, "I'm out."

I said, "bye" and closed the door behind him. There's nothing more annoying than a guy who's insecure about me. I'm not even this insecure about him cause I know for a fact he won't cheat on me but now I'm not so sure. Lately he's been on edge about every thing & I just wish he would trust me. Yea trey has been trying to get back with me but I have a good head on my shoulders. I know who I used to love and who I'm in love with now so why trip?

I released a sigh and ebony knocked on my door a couple mins later.

"Come in",I said.

"Hey Girl wasup with tiago? He just stormed out the house ain't said bye or nothing",he said leaning against the door once she got in.

"Take a guess."

"Oh trey?"

"Yup."

"He was only here to pick up his things. And word on the street is he single."

"That's great for him. Tiago is just on edge cause he thinks he trying to get back with me."

"That sounds about accurate cause he did come in here asking for you",ebony said.

"Trey can move on. I have love for him as a friend but that's it. I'm not gonna jeopardize my relationship for trey."

"Well sounds like you just did the way Santiago just stormed out of here."

"I know",I said reflecting on how I could make it up to him. I can't let him walk out of my life again.
