Looking at my figure in the mirror, I got a little sad because I'm getting a little fat.

"What you in the mirror for bae?, Santiago asked while staring at me from laying in his bed.

"I'm getting fat",I pouted.

"In the right places bae."

"My face is not a right place for fat to be in."

"You tripping bae. C'mon we gotta get ya home before I get a phone call from ya mom",he said getting out the bed and slapping my butt.

"You know I don't want to go there."

"Bae i can't leave you here while I'm at work tho",he said getting in the shower. He pulled me close to him and said, "you can join me if you want."

I got undressed and joined him in the shower. Of course I knew he couldn't keep his hands off of me while scrubbing my back. He kissed my sun kissed shoulders and eased me to relax. I turned around and felt his abs while licking lips with him. Pushing me against the wall he grabbed one leg and wrapped it around his waist. He humped me against the wall and I moved. He put his finger to my lips and hushed me as he continued. Bouncing up and down, he kissed me as he held his balance by pushing his hand against the wall. After we was done, he kissed me one last time before turning the water off.

"Trey ever did you in the shower like that?",he said taking a towel to wrap around his waist.

"I have to admit, I've never done it in the shower before."

"You liked it?"

"Hell yeah."

He looked at me and smirked as he took his toothbrush and started to brush his teeth. I searched through his clothes to try to find something for me to wear. I found a pair of b-ball shorts and a Nike shirt to go along with it.

After Santiago got dressed, we passed by a local Starbucks to get something to eat.

"So when are you getting out?",I asked him.

"Probably 8 at the latest."

"Okay."

"Call me if anything happens babe",he said as we kissed. I got out the car and he watched as I get in the house.

I waved goodbye to him and shut the door. I didn't see my moms car in the driveway as usual So at least i Can avoid her for now. I went to my room and was somewhat unfamiliar. There was clothes everywhere. On the bed and the floor. My sheets on my bed was messed up and I don't remember me making a mess in my room like this last night. But then again i don't remember anything from last night. I picked up the clothes and folded them. After cleaning my room, i decided to Lay on my bed and chill watching whatever was on tv. Being alone in this house, was definitely starting to get to me. I was hearing stuff. Being paranoid, I called ebony on my phone. She picked up on the first ring and said, "I knew you'd call me today."

"Hey Girl",i said laughing.

"Hey wasup?"

"Nothing much. Are you busy?"

"Nah i got the day off today."

"Cool wanna meet me somewhere?"

I told her where to meet me at and got dressed in a sundress. I grabbed my keys and was out. I walked to a nearby park and met up with Ebony there. Once I saw her walking down the trail, she came up to hug me and I hugged her back.

"Are you okay? Cause you sounded frantic on the phone",she said.

"Yea im fine. Im just not used to being in the house by myself. Tiago is usually with me or I'm at his house."

"Yea..i know."

"So what's goin on in the life of ebony",i asked her as we walked.

"Girl, a lot. I failed anatomy now I gotta take it again next semester. My cousin sherice just moved in and she's being so extra. She doesn't want to do anything around the house and if I have to pick up one more of her dirty draws off the floor, ima scream."

I laughed.

"What about you and Trey?",I asked.

"I didn't really want to talk about that since I know your situation with him",she said being considerate.

"Girl stop. I got a new man, I'm not tripping over you and trey",i said.

"Okay well we broke up."

"I'm not even gonna ask why cause I'm pretty sure it's cause he cheated."

"Nah. He didn't cheat...he was just never over you like I said. And it was complicated because you was my best friend and you was his ex. Truth is, we both wasn't over you."

"He just needs another girl to get up under. I'm sure Trey will be fine", I said.

Santiago

"Sup man. I'm surprised you here today",Marcus said giving me a cup of coffee.

"Man I've been gone for too long and can't afford not to come to work today."

"Knowing you, i thought you'd be with ol girl cuddling up somewhere",he said causing me to laugh.

"Nah why you say that?",i said taking a sip of the coffee.

"Y'all was all up on each other last night. Anybody could see that man. You might as well wife the chick."

"I might some time in the future but no where near that now. Since you here, help me with these papers man",i said throwing them on my desk.

"Man that's all you. I came to work all week last week. You on your own",he said getting up and walking away.

I looked at the pile of papers and stared at them. I had to enter the recent files and shred the old ones. I saw one paper that caught my eye. It was near the bottom of the stack. The paper was so old that the ink started to fade out. I took it out and looked through it trying to read the name. Surprisingly, I seen khia's name and her mom's name. I looked through the pages and seen that khia's mom checked the food stamp box along with the Medicaid box. Khia's father name wasn't on the application so I guess he was M.I.A.

I entered the application number into the computer and noticed that the system denied them of food stamps and Medicaid. But I didn't know why. I never knew Khia had a hard time to the point where she and her mom had to turn to the system for help. I grabbed the paper and went over to Marcus's cubical.

"Put this in the system for me",I told him giving him the application.

He looked at it and said, "dude I can barely see those numbers."

I read it out to him as he entered it in the system.

"Khia? This ain't your Khia?"

"I don't know too many girls named Khia Francois."

"That's her last name?",Marcus said staring at the screen.

"Yeah Francois."

"What's her mom's name?"

"I don't know. She told me to call her Ms. Kim."

"Kim is short for Kimberly",Marcus said investigating.

"How long ago was this?"

"The application was filed in 2016",I said looking at it.

"Yeah that's a while ago. Says here they was denied though."

"Yea tryna figure out why. Scroll down",I said.

"Well they never submitted a pay stub and they didn't put the father's name on the application. It was incomplete and didn't you say the girl's mom was a doctor or somethin?"

"Yeah. Now she is. Whatever background she had, I'm not aware of."

"Khia ever told you anything about her background?"

"Nah. She doesn't talk much about her background to me. I just recently found out about her dad being some type a gangbanger or some shit."

"So you mean to tell me you dating a girl you don't know?"

"She got a past. Everybody do ain't nothing wrong with that."

"True but it's important to know what it is though. Looks like you and lil mama got some things to talk about",Marcus said giving me the paper back.
