I was so not ready to tell Santiago's family about what's been happening these past couple of days. As Santiago walked me downstairs into the living room, I could feel my knees getting weak and butterflies

flying around in my stomach. Santiago looked at me and caressed the side of my face and said, "you ready?"

"Nope."

He laughed and caused me to laugh too.

Santiago's Dad hugged me and offered me a chair to sit facing them. Santiago pulled a chair next to mine and said, "you're not alone in this."

I smiled and began to talk.

His mother took a seat next to her husband and all eyes was on me.

"So I'm sure you guys are wondering what's been going on with me and why I've extended my stay at your house",I said jokingly. They all laughed.

"You would think she lives here",Santiago said with a chuckle.

"A few weeks ago, my found out that my father was in town and I got scared because the same night he came, he tried to come onto me. I actually was molested as a child and he thought he could continue to do that while I'm grown too but I wasn't having it. So I ran away from my house and called Santiago to come get me and that's why I continued to stay here",I explained while holding back my tears.

"Wow im so sorry honey. He should be behind bars for what he did to you",Santiago's mom said.

"That's actually what i wanted to talk to you guys about next. I wanted to file a claim against him but I wanted your permission to see if your son will be willing to serve as a witness for me since he was partially there with me. I don't have anyone else because I never told anyone besides him."

"Of course corazón. Anything to get him behind bars, you don't deserve that",his mom said walking up to hug me.

"It's up to Santiago if he wants to do that or not",his dad said. I couldn't really read him because he showed no emotion unlike Santiago's mother. He got up from the living room and went to the back yard. Santiago followed him.

"Dad what's up? My girl just opened up her heart to tell y'all what's going on with her and you showing her no type of sympathy?",i said to my dad.

"She left out the part that he's a affiliated with a gang."

"Why does that matter?"

"Because I don't want my son to be in danger or involved in anything that involves that."

"Dad can you stop being selfish for once? Khia is hurting right now. She had to experience things that she shouldn't have to."

"Santiago. Did you think this through? Did you think this man is gonna let his daughter lock him up and not come back to retaliate?"

"Dad, you ain't raise no coward. I'll be ready to kill whoever comes."

"See that's your problem. You always wanna go to the streets with it. I came to the United States with you to give you a better life. Why do you repay me with this?"

"Repay you with what? I'm doing everything you wanted me to do. I go to school, I'm stepping up to your restaurant business, I have a good paying job to help around the house. What more do you want?"

"This girl of yours is bringing you in the wrong path. Since when did you carry a gun? Since when I'm hearing you in jail? Oh you thought I didn't know."

"I've been carrying a gun since my freshman year in college and she's not the reason I was held up in the cell",I said lying out my teeth.

"Like I said, it's up to you if you want to put yourself in her family affairs. Handle it like a man & don't call me to come bail you out."

"Alright, ima handle it like a man. Thanks for your support pops",I said sarcastically and went back inside the room to find Khia sitting in the kitchen area on her phone.

"I overheard",she said not looking up at me.

"What you hear?"

"Enough",she said looking at me with a sigh.

"Don't even worry about it bae."

"You can break up with me if you want."

"I'd be a fool to break up with you",I said pulling her into a hug.

I had Santiago drop me off at trey's law firm just to set up an appointment for him and I. When I open the glass door, I entered and spoke to the front desk associate.

"Hi, I'm here to set up an appointment with Trey",I said.

"Oh hey Khia",I heard someone say.

I turned back and I saw Trey with his ex genovia on his hip. I guess she not his ex anymore by the looks of it.

"Hey. I just need to make an appointment."

"Oh well genovia was just leaving, I can squeeze you in now if you'd like",he said and turned to her and kissed her. Genovia left and I followed Trey into his office. He closed the door behind me and took a seat at his desk. I pulled out a chair and said, "oh so you guys are back together?",I said waving my finger.

"yea since you didn't want me."

I laughed and rolled my eyes.

"Let's not act like you actually wanted me. It was always her, it was never me. Had me looking like a fool doing everything sexual with you, and you never once uttered my name to your family. Please don't get me started Trey, I didn't even come here for this."

"Well since we on the topic let's talk about it. You went out and got with ol boy at your school. I told you I was gonna tell them about you",he said cocking his head to the side.

"Nigga please. Out of the many times you said you was gonna tell them, how did I know this time wasn't gonna be much different. You broke me. You did that."

"You still love me?",he asked with a smirk on his face.

"Boy please. Only person I love is Santiago."

"You didn't answer my question."

"No. I don't love you",I said looking down.

He walked over to me and pulled my chin to face him.

"Look at me and tell me."

"Get your hands off of me",I said moving his hand away from my face. Your always gonna have love for the person who took your virginity because y'all will unfortunately have a That connection with each other but Trey did me wrong and that's something I'll never forget. I don't even know why I entertained this conversation. Maybe it's cause I feel like I gotta prove myself to him and show him I am worthy. I have self worth. I have high self esteem now. I wasn't that naive little girl he met anymore. I'm much more than sex, than head. My body was worth so much more.
