July 31, 2020

Breyerfest finally arrived and I'm so excited! I've tried to save up some with help from my family and boyfriend, this was the end result of saving since April, even more so when Breyerfest was announced to be online and I had a chance to participate. I feel incredibly lucky I had the time and the money/support this year and I am super grateful I was able to get what I did, this is honestly the only way I see myself participating in a real Breyerfest for a long time.

This is in no way intended as to be bragging or snotty, just to show what I was fortunate to get and have some family and my boyfriend help support me. If anyone else has a haul for this year I'd love to see them!

Name: Faugh-a-Ballaugh aka Cheesecake

Breed: Gypsy Vanner

Color: Silver Cremello Tobiano

Special Run: 2020 BF Store Special

Significance: First BF SS, 1000 made

Purchased for: $150

Unfortunately my original pickup person was not able to obtain matte Faugh-a-Ballaugh for me due to all the lightning speed restock sell outs, but she did get me a compensation model you'll see later! This guy I found on Facebook and my boyfriend once again helped me get this gorgeous stud after I was wrote a bad check. He's absolutely stunning and a new favorite Traditional model besides Fabio. He's incredible and only flaw is his left ear tip but I can definitely live with it. He's everything I expected and more!

Name: Sláinte Surprise aka Sláinte

Breed:

Color: Palomino Sabino - chalky

Special Run: 2020 BF Surprise Run

Significance: First BF SR, 800 variation out of 4500

Purchased for: $85

My very first Surprise horse, completely unopened until she got here! This is my very first model on the Giselle mold and the four different colors for this years Surprise is Red Roan Tobiano, Silver Black, and Black Leopard appy. Although this model is a very nice palomino color and not cheeto-y or lemon-y looking, I'm not a fan of it being a chalky so I will try to trade for my top two choices, the Appaloosa or Tobiano. She's beautiful, just not my cup of tea unfortunately. The numbers this year also threw me off, all four variations split in the same numbers - 800 matte and 325 glossy of each variation so there is no rarer matte/gloss models this year surprisingly.

Since my boyfriend bought me Cheesecake and Sláinte, I bought myself three single day tickets for Friday the 10th and these are the randomly shipped Stablemates I was sent!

Name: Skye aka Deteriorate by Demon Hunter

Breed: Rocky Mountain Horse

Color: Silver Black

Special Run: 2020 BF Stablemates

Significance: First "attending" BF models

Purchased for: $17

I am drooling over how rich this handsome guy is! He's absolutely stunning and I'm so glad I got him as one of my random Stablemates. He's a gorgeous dark chocolate brown with brighter tan mane and tail that really makes him pop, with help from the gloss of course. He's definitely a new favorite of mine and a new add on to my show models.

~~~~~
Name: Jersey aka Devil's Dance Floor by Flogging Molly
Breed: English Thoroughbred
Color: Flaxen Chestnut
Special Run: 2020 BF Stablemates
Significance: First "attending BF" models
Purchased for: $17
This glowing stud also made it's way to my shelves! Jersey is a firey flaxen chestnut stallion with four lovely high stockings also doused in high gloss. He was my third pick but he looks a lot better seeing him in person then his promos. He's very well done and no flaws on him either, so he might as well join my beginners show string.
~~~~~

Name: Orkney

Breed: Gypsy Vanner

Color: Palomino Tobiano

Special Run: 2020 BF Stablemates

Significance: First "attending BF" models

Purchased for: $17

Since I'm not a fan of Orkney, at all, I was going to keep him NIP and try to trade him for Arran. I actually found a person wanting to trade Charleston for Arran so I took that trade so I'll have the full set of this years Single-Day Stablemates. He's nicer then what what I was expecting but still disappointed in the coppery/metallic finish to his coat.

~~~~~
Name: Arran aka Mantra by Bring Me The Horizon
Breed: Connemara
Color: Buckskin Roan
Special Run: 2020 BF Stablemate
Significance: New mold, full 2020 SD SM set
Traded for: Charleston
As mentioned above, I was originally going to try and trade Orkney for Arran but I found a different trade instead so now I have the whole set. She's a very beautiful model and definitely my favorite out of all of the Stablemates this year. Her color is gorgeous and I'm so happy to have a buckskin roan in my collection! I couldn't be happier with her and how adorable she is.
~~~~~

Name: Kochab aka Satellite by Starset

Breed: Warlander

Color: Dapple Grey

Special Run: Best of BreyerFest Stablemates set

Significance: Series 1, 2020

Set Purchased for: $60

I originally thought this guy was going to be one of my favorites of this set but finding his pearly mane and tail kind of shut me down unfortunately. He's still very nice and pretty, his dapples aren't too much like fish scales so overall I'm pretty happy with him. I waited for three restocks to get this set online and every restock was two hours apart so I was stalking the Breyer site like crazy because everything sold out in literally seconds.

~~~~~
Name: Gale aka Turn It Down by Smash Into Pieces
Breed: Appaloosa - racing bred
Color: Silver Bay Spotted Blanket
Special Run: Best of BreyerFest Stablemates set
Significance: Series 1, 2020. 1500 made.
Yet another pearly maned/tailed model, I'm not the happiest with this one but she is also done very well and her appy markings are pretty crisp. She's really nice for a silver bay and she's not too tippy either, which is a nice plus for me.
~~~~~

Name: Durham aka Cheapside Sloggers by VolBeat

Breed: Dutch Warmblood

Color: Dapple Bay Tobiano

Special Run: Best of BreyerFest Stablemates set

Significance: Series 1, 2020

Durham is a really pretty guy with his flashy Paint markings and subtle dapples. His dapples are well done and not fish scale-y like Kochab's at all. His coat really stands out against his black mane and tail, making him look a bit brighter and almost buckskin rather then bay. His markings are also really crisp and another addition to my show string.

~~~~~
Name: Victoire aka If You Have Ghosts by Ghost
Breed: Paintabian (Paint x Arabian)
Color: Black Tobiano
Special Run: Best of BreyerFest Stablemates set
Significance: Series 1, 2020
A very nicely shaded black Tobiano, Victoire is a beautiful Paintabian with some homozygous "cat tracking" on his sides. I think he's a chalky and not bare plastic whites because it looks a lot more matte compared to others with bare white markings. I'm pretty happy with this guy and also plan on showing him when I can.
~~~~~

Name: Vaije aka #1 Bad Boy by Poison

Breed: Nokota

Color: Sorrel Overo

Special Run: Best of BreyerFest Stablemates set

Significance: Series 1, 2020

Another firey stallion, Vaije is a strikingly loud sorrel overo with attitude to match. I'm very impressed with how crisp all his markings are, especially since they all have pretty jagged edges for detailing. He also has nice two toned eyes that stand out against some of his darker shading on his face. He's one of my favorites from this set.

~~~~~
Name: Benelli
Breed: Clydesdale
Color: Blue Roan sabino ~ GLOSSY
Special Run: BF 2020 SS GLOSSY
Significance: First Glossy BF model
Purchased for: $75
With all the hectic crazyness that happened trying to get virtual BreyerFest up and running, Breyer was generous enough to make GLOSSY versions one the three Store Special Traditional models! I asked my grandparents if they could justify buying him for me as a birthday and Christmas present as he will not arrive until Christmas since this was a last minute and unexpected offer from Breyer and they need time to properly gloss the models. I'm so excited to have my first ever Traditional glossy model, especially a BreyerFest model! The numbers on these guys depended on how many were ordered of each, so we should hopefully find the numbers out in the Just About Horses magazine. I was so tempted to order a second Cheesecake and have gloss and matte but I felt like I'd give Benelli a shot, especially if I don't get attached because of being tippy if I have no self control keeping him NIB lol, the possibility of maybe trading him for a different glossy limited model in the future.
~~~~~

Name: Faugh-a-Ballaugh aka Cheesecake

Breed: Gypsy Vanner

Color: Silver Cremello Tobiano ~ GLOSSY

Special Run: BF 2020 SS SR GLOSSY

Significance: Second Glossy BF model

Purchased for: $75

My compensation for not being able to get the matte version, a glossy pre-order! I was really debating on getting this guy when I asked my grandparents for a glossy model, and I'm so glad I picked Benelli first. I'm really excited for him to show up with Benelli and see them on my shelves together, I can't wait for Christmas!

~~~~~
Sorry this update took so long to post, I wanted to wait for everything that could make it to show up and make one larger update and not several small updates. This is part one of my haul, everything I got directly from Breyer or actual BreyerFest 2020 models via "pickups." My second half will be all of my "Clarion" finds. 😁 Thank you for checking out Pt. 1 of my haul!
