《The Untended Endearment》Hidimba (2)

She finished instructing everyone and took a breath of relief. This is a hectic work but she is sure about the upcoming results. She knew that unlike others here people love her genuinely and her words are considered supreme. She sighs and left for her home where her grandson's wife is awaiting her for lunch.
"Little one I am home" she called her affectionately. The house is unusually quiet. She felt no movement which makes her worried. After the dreadful incident where she lost all her children one by one, the slightest things turned her anxious.
The fearless regal queen of Kamyaka forest now spends her every moment in fear. She can't trust her destiny anymore. No one knew when life took an unexpected turn. After losing her everything now her life doesn't matter for her but her subjects are her world.
Little one as she called her lovingly is like the shiniest star of her life the only one person left from her family. Though she has a very big family with dozens of people but she held no place either in their hearts or in their lives. She was outcast ed long ago and it doesn't matter now.
"Little one where are you? Look stop pranking your grandmother. Come out from wherever you are hiding" She called this time panicking a little. On top of that, she is her early stage of pregnancy which made her a little more concerned.
"Oho grandmother you worry a lot. I went to neighbor's house for these tastiest roasted corns" she replied smiling from doorsteps.
"So now you are back come let's have lunch. I have cooked your favorite meal spicy-sweet corns with rice puddings and deserts from the gram flour. I know you like all these" she replied putting the corns on a plate and walking towards cooking place.

She saw the young girl walking hiding all her pain behind her sweet smile. She is behaving all tough in front of her for her sake but she knows the reality. She knows that she cried silently at nights or whenever she is not around so that she doesn't know but her muffled sobs, broken voice, and painful eyes gave away the secret. Whenever she looks at her the wound of losing her grandson pains her more.
The wound is still afresh in her memories since when she got this news. She didn't have a chance to even see them one last time. All she got is a message that her son and grandson died in the war. She thought that once the war will over anyone from the family eventually come to console her or maybe after all this her husband will take this chance to meet her just once and she will see him once more. May he would make her feel loved and wanted for this once after all he was their son and grandson whom they both lost. It is not only her loss.
She always wanted to talk to him about anything and everything, about their son and grandson but all this is just an everlasting beautiful dream and dreams don't come true every time.
Thinking about all this brings fresh tears in her eyes. She came back to reality by the chirping voice of her little one who is talking about the tasty roasted corn their neighbor cooked every time. Getting no response from her grandmother she looked up only to find her eyes filled with tears threatening to fall anytime soon.
"Why are you hurting yourself grandma they are not coming back ever. We have to live with this so it's high time we should accept the reality. The pain is never going to be less we have to make ourselves strong to handle it" She stated softly patting her shoulders.

"And those whom you have expected will never be going to come grandmother to console you and take care of your whereabouts. You are forgotten long ago and now when their purpose is fulfilled you are no longer needed too. But you are needed here in mine and the lives of these peoples of kamyaka forest so in no way I am letting you lose yourself in these circumstances" she thought looking painfully at her grandmother who is now having her lunch quietly.
Hollowness has taken a toll on her in these last few months. She aged drastically face is full of wrinkles, hairs are turning into a shade of white, eyes which once hold fire is now filled with emptiness. The beautifully strong and fiercely regal queen of the jungle is losing herself in her pain and loneliness. This change started scaring the young girl who in no means wants to lose her only family left.
She decided to pay a visit to the royal advisor. She was with her grandmother since her maiden days she might have some advice on this matter. The royal advisor is a very calm person and a lady of few words. She is astonished to see her future queen at her doorsteps.
She has the slightest idea about the matter being personal otherwise this young princess didn't pay her a personal visit. She is fully aware of the darkness and painful feelings her queen is facing. She suggested that sometimes to move on from a pain one has to relive it. If the queen has to come out of everything then once again she has to go through her whole journey which shaped her into the person she is today.
In the journey back home the princess knew what she has to do. The rest of the day went in watching over the preparations for the hunting troops. After checking over everything personally Hidimba joined her little one for dinner. Watching her lost somewhere during the entire dinner she inquired about the matter of her concern.
"Grandmother after the troops left for hunting tomorrow morning you are free for the rest of day," she asked in her trance."Yes dear what you exactly want to ask"
"Then would you join me to collect corns and while doing so recite me the infamous tale of your life" she answered looking expectantly at her now. She stops dead in her tracks. To recite her tale she has to relive the entire feeling of loneliness and pain again but she can't deny her little one especially at this stage.
"Okay" was the only word come out of her mouth before she retired for the night. Tomorrow is going to be a long day and she has to prepare herself.
After all once again she has to go through her journey of

Loremaster: A Progression Dark Fantasy
Serena had died a Celestial. One of the few who were meant to rule over the vast multiverse. Yet she was inexplicably reborn. Carrying the knowledge of her past life, she seeks to do what her kind does best... rule. Yet, the multiverse isn't what it once was. Mortals aspire to become what the celestials once were, through levels or classes or cultivation. New things that didn't and shouldn't exist. And these mortals are only the beginning of what stands in her way. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Warning: There will be times that morally suspect themes happen. While I have little to no intention of showing them (especially during a Writathon) things like abuse of all kinds (neglect, emotional, mental, spiritual, physical and sexual) can or be implied to have happened. These are played to the horrors such things are, and are treated with the seriousness and aftereffects it would cause. Progression + Cultivation + GameLit + Multiverse + Slow Build + Slow Burn + Worldbuilding + Grimbright + Multiple POVs = Insanity for all. This the first time I am seriously writing an original story. I will be Writing each book in Parts/Arcs (3-6) with mini arcs (3-6 in each arc). Each Mini-arc is 5-14 or so chapters. I like progression stories and I've always wanted to try and write one like a few of the web novels that inspired me. The Game Lit aspects will be more in the background, with focus on other details like dungeons, monsters, loot, morality, and so on. There will be focus on various kinds of progression. Updates 3-5 days a week (Usually weekdays). Chapters will be roughly 1000-2500 words and alternate wildly.

Exuperius [DISCONTINUED]
Terravest. The northernmost continent of the world known by many names of legend, but is most commonly reffered to as Athora, has, for eons, served as the land of exiles. Human criminals, dark elves, grayskinned orcs and dwarves that preffer mining with machinery over the traditional pickaxe alike, have come to call this half-frozen hellhole their home. It is a land of great strife, calamity and crisis, where one legendary tale ends only to begin the next, heroes fall down and villains find themselves thrown into lava. Around seventy years ago, a legendary figure appeared out of seemingly nowhere and conquered three human nations, forming a kingdom worthy enough of being called a small empire. However, at the eve of his heirs ascension, the legend breathed his last, leaving this same bloated, chaotic realm without the pillar that kept it together. Already, the carrion nobility, still spiteful for being denied their "rightful" place below the sun, rise up and gather at the court, each eager to consolidate their own power in these troubled times. Tempers flare, power is exercised without restraint and no one expects the hedonistic prince to succeed at keeping the realm together. Alas, as is often the case with such tales, not everything seems to be as it might at first appear and the vain lords of the realm may yet come to regret their carrion will. --- The Content Warnings are there for a good reason. ---

The Core of a Factory
An abandoned steampunk arms factory, in the middle of a conflict torn former state of the Empire it served, gains a soul. This transforms it into a Lord, capable of turning land into power. Beset by enemies on all sides it must figure out how to win the war its creators lost a century ago. This is a progressive Dungeon Core novel (which is to say the core will progress and expand in scale, eventually) across multiple dimensions with different characteristics (e.g. steampunk, magic, mythological). It has rationalist leanings (paragraphs of reasoning) and litrpg leanings (there are stat blocks). The core game mechanical idea is something like "what if different flavors of magic power actually did come from controlling land" and then the story is: "what if there was a flavorless (artifact deck) dungeon core". Chapters will be relatively short (my aim is that in three column format each would fit on a wide screen monitor), the first few chapters - setting up the main character and mechanics - are currently the longest in the entire series. I write chapters in blocks, and then release them one a weekday (M-F; 6 PM GMT, unless RoyalRoad's publish thing screws up) until I run out. There may be a few days of gaps here and there if someone finds an egregious error I have to re-write around or if I am behind. In general though one can read this once a weekend. I may do slight retconns and edits, I'll make sure to put it in an authors note if I do.

Infinity || Dan Smith
Dan is playing a superhero for a new movie. It might come to a shock to the system for old Bastille fans, but he's genuinely happy acting instead of singing. Everyone wishes him well...except for the ones who don't. They're people who think the worst of him because of a past tragedy. After all, the man with many talents, is very familiar with heroes and villains in his own life. This superhero flick called 'Illusion' suits Dan better than his characters suit!
