《Charming Through the Lines》~Chapter 15~

Normally you'd think putting a white top with white pants would be okay. In Bri's eyes, she would throw you in "terrible fashion jail". Her words, not mine.
"I honestly think it's fine!" Hailee shouts. Bri crosses her arms and proceeds to go on a rant.
Yup. Those are my best friends.
15 minutes later of their arguing, it's finally time to say something, "Alright both of you shut the fuck up!" Bri and Hailee go quiet and turn to me, "Bri, it doesn't matter if two colors are put together. Hailee still pulls it off. Hailee, Bri isn't your mother, don't take her fashion advice to heart."
Bri and Hailee say their apologies quietly and both go to sit on Bri's bed.
"How was your little date with Josh?" Hailee teases after a moment of silence. I turn to her and roll my eyes. I swear, these girls love to tease me about Josh.
"It wasn't a date. We just went to dinner casually like we have been for the past few years," I reply calmly. Hailee shakes her head in disbelief.
"We all see the way he looks at you. It's like a longing, in love, kind of look." Bri states nonchalantly. This motherfucker.
Hailee nods her head in agreement, "On the plus side, you both are older and would be more mature in a relationship. Hailee has a point. Josh and I were both like those middle school couples, even though we were juniors in high school.
I can't help but let my mind drift off to Leo and how, as of right now, he is the only boy I would want to be with. I know it sounds stupid, considering he is the biggest player, but his stupid fucking face won't leave my head.

His face isn't stupid. It's gorgeous, but he doesn't need his ego any bigger.
"You're right, but I'm not looking for a relationship right now. I just want to focus on my studies and have a little fun here and there," I answer. Hailee and Bri nod their heads acknowledgement, "I'm going to go for a walk, I'll be back in a little."
Bri furrows her eyebrows, "It's almost 10 at night. Where the hell are you going?"
"Just outside to the park nearby, I won't be long," I can tell that reassures her because her shoulders drop and she nods her head. I throw on a pair of sweatpants and a navy blue hoodie that Josh had given me a few years ago. I slip both sock covered feet into my slides and leave my dorm room.
When I get outside of my dorm complex, I'm hit with the cool, fall air. God, I love fall. It's my favorite month.
I take a seat of the crisp grass and shifted my gaze to the sky. There weren't as many stars tonight, but it was still beautiful.
I suddenly hear a car, causing me to snap my head towards the noise. I squint hard enough to see by surprise that it's Leo's jeep. That's weird.
The car door shuts the moment the vehicle was parked and I hear the footsteps of the man whom I couldn't stop thinking about, approach me. He's dressed in dark plaid pajama pants and dark hoodie.
When he finally makes his way over, I greet him, "Hey Leo."
His facial expression is twisted in...panic? I couldn't tell.
"Hi Aria," He trails off.
"Are you okay? You look nervous," I pry at him.
He takes a few deep breaths, "I just wanted to say I'm sorry for earlier. I'm sorry for how I acted about the whole you going out with Josh," He pauses before continuing, "I had no place to act the way I did. I've never had any friends who were girls, so I don't really know how to act in certain situations."

Now it was my turn to take a deep breath, "Leo I was never mad at you. Yeah I guess it was a bit weird the way you acted but it's okay. We're still friends," The word "" felt weird to describe Leo and I. There is nothing friendly about the way I'm attracted to him. His body physically shutters at the sentence.
In the faint moonlight, I see a light smile spread across his beautiful face, "Thank you for forgiving me, " The last part of his appreciation was in french. I could tell by the way the words rolled off his tongue with ease.
God, he is so beautiful it hurts to look at him. His voice is so soothing, the deep rasp when he's tired and the smoothness when he's talking quietly.
Leo's hand being in front of me snaps me out of my daze. I lift my head to look at him, seeing his hand is still stretched towards me, his lips forming a cheeky smile. I can't help but return the smile and take his hand. His large hand manages to pull me up to my feet quickly, just barely throwing me off balance.
"Hug it out?" He whispers so quietly that I barely understood what he said. I nodded my head and wrapped my arms around his waist. One of Leo's arms wrap across the lower part of my back while the other is wrapped protectively around my head.
He smells like cherry blossoms mixed with a bit of woodsy scent. Weirdly enough, it's a good mixture. Gosh, I have to be careful with him. I'm getting too used to this.
We slowly pull apart, the warm feeling leaving my body. I liftt my gaze to his, slightly shocked to see his hazel eyes brightly looking back at me.
"You're so effortlessly beautiful, did you know that?" He blurts out of nowhere. My cheeks begin to burn up and I drop my head, my gaze now set on the grass. I watch as Leo's hand lifts up, placing two fingers on my chin and lifting my view back to him, "Flustered aren't you?"
Butterflies fill my tummy, causing my body to heat up. I part my lips without knowledge, until I see Leo's eyes snap from my lips to my eyes. He brings his thumb to brush across my lips, the lightest touch. This action causes my to take a sharp breath.
"Do friends do this?" He questions with a tilt of his head. I don't trust my voice, so I reply with a shake in the head, "Do you and Josh do this?" I shakes my head again. Josh knows his boundaries after I told him to stop hitting on me.
Leo suddenly drops his hand and I let out a disappointed sigh, "Another day sweetheart, another day," He chuckles lightly, "Let's get you back to your dorm, yeah?" I nod my head and follow him.
I don't know what the hell just happened but I don't think friends do that.

Trial of Champions
It all began with a family trip to an amusement park. How were any of us to expect being transported from Earth to participate in some "Trial of Champions," whatever that was supposed to be? Given only an hour to choose the Classes that would come to define our strengths, we were almost immediately torn away from one another and thrust into a deadly game of survival. It wasn't all bad, though, as terrifying as it could be from time to time. The supernatural and magical powers of the Classes were like something out of an RPG, complete with leveling up by killing monsters and completing so-called "Sub-Trials." And despite the juicy Experience to be gained from killing other Champion Contestants, not all of the participants were bloodthirsty murderers; some could be allied with, or even befriended. Even if it seemed like everyone who had been chosen for this Trial, no matter what universe they came from, was at least a little bit crazy. I would survive this till the end, and I'd make sure that my siblings and parents did as well, no matter how many times we were separated from one another. No matter how long it took. No matter what I had to do. --- A first-person litRPG incorporating classes inspired by D&D and other sources. If you like blue boxes but don't need to have huge lists of numbers to scratch your itch, you should be satisfied on that front. Each chapter is, in my word processing document, seven pages long (approximately 3300-3900 words). The Traumatizing Content warning is there because of discussions of certain topics. Nothing that I think deserves the warning actually happens in the story.

Den of Vipers
The Year is XXXX, and a deep, heavy fog sets in all over not just the planet, but the whole of the universe, sending all within into a deep, deep sleep. When they awake, all has changed, and both for the better and the worse. Everything has changed, from the new, impossibly massive planet that all now occupy to the terrain to the very rules of reality themselves. But what has changed the most are the people. It seemed as though Humanity was alone in the cosmos, but no longer, as new, monstrous races have been born from the flesh of those whom the Fog singled out. With the survivors rewarded for each altered former human they kill, along with each heroic (and villainous) act that they engage in, those who have changed are forced to run, hide, and try to fight back. But in a distant place, a single altered person stirs from her sleep as the Fog fades. With no Humans for hundreds of miles and a [Quest] that all other Altered share guiding her newly inhuman mind, the newly born serpentine but humanoid monster will have to fight for survival and dominance in a world hellbent on her death, with that violent, pathological hate coming not just from the remaining Humans.
