《Charming Through the Lines》~Chapter 14~

My head was fucking spinning.

I had never felt this way about a girl. Quite honestly, anyone. After , I closed myself off. I didn't mean to, but I couldn't bring myself to feel .

But Aria, god she makes me feel . The idea of her being with that...boy, sends jealousy through my veins. I know they're friends, but the way he looks at her isn't very friendly.

Being close to Aria makes me feel...safe. Usually it's the other way around, but for me, that tiny but spicy girl makes me feel like everything will be okay.

The moment I met her, I knew I was a goner.

I parked my Jeep in my usual space and walked to my apartment. I strode through the front door to see Brett sitting on the counter, his his focus locked on his phone. He didn't look up when I came in, so I happily decided I'd walk behind him and peer down at his phone. The boy can't be hiding that much.

"Who are you stalking now?" I say with amusement. He slowly looks up at me, knowing he's been caught.

"Brielle's hot brunette friend," He replies with a grin. My mind instantly goes to Aria. I shove him harshly, causing him to fall off the counter, "What was that for asshole?" He yells.

"You can't seriously be talking about Aria," I said lowly through gritted teeth. His face goes blank, until he breaks into a laughing fit.

"You know Brielle has other friends, right?" He says through his laughs. I glare in response, "Down tiger, I'm talking about Hailee."

I remember Aria had mentioned Brielle and Hailee were two of her best friends, "Just...don't go near Aria," Brett only smirks and throws his hands up in surrender.

I roll my eyes and throw my car keys on the counter, "There's a party tonight, wanna drop by with me?" Brett asks before I make it to the stairs.

I think for a moment before replying, "I'll see. Remind me at 8," I respond, walking up the stairs.

This was a bad idea. I should've stayed home with Matt.

Brett ran off somewhere with a few frats, leaving me alone in the drink room. I knew a good amount of people here, but they all seemed to be busy.

I grabbed a blue plastic cup and filled it with water. Yeah, water. No drinking during the season.

I feel something tap my shoulder and I turn around to see a tall, blonde girl standing behind me. A seductive smile is spread across her face as she looks at me with her big, bright green eyes.

"I can't believe this," She says in a shocking tone. I furrow my eyebrows in confusion, "King of the campus, Leo Wright is alone at a party," Of course she had to mention it.

"Not in the mood to go wild tonight," I reply plainly. She tilts her head with a smile, placing her manicured hands on my chest. Usually I'd be a little turned on by the touch from a beautiful woman, but I feel . Fucking .

What the hell has Aria done to me?

I step back, causing her to retract her hand quickly, "I can take the hint. I hope you have a great night hun," She walks off with a light smile on her face. Fuck, she was nice. I don't regret my decision, I'm just glad she didn't try to claw my eyes out.

I walk out of the kitchen and up the stairs. There should be a game room up here if I remember correctly. I'm betting Brett is in here.

As I get to the top of the stairs, I hear loud cheering. In the yelling, I could make out Brett's voice. Yeah, I could pick his voice out from a mile away. I turn the corner in the hallway and walk into the game room.

Brett is sitting on a couch with a few of our teammates and a few of the football players. He notices I walked in and jumps up from his position on the couch.

"You found me!" He yells happily, throwing his arm around me. I awkwardly smile. I definitely should've stayed home.

"I guess I did," I replied. I turned to the guys who were still sitting on the couch. I wave at them awkwardly. I'm never this awkward but I've felt off ever since I left Aria. God I just want to be close to her right now.

Brett taps my shoulder with the hand that's slung around me. I twist my head to face him, a concerned look on my face.

"You good?" He asks in a completely different tone than the one he had a moment ago. To be quite honest, I wasn't fine. I'm missing a girl who I've only known for a little amount of time, but somehow she managed to slither her way into my mind.

"I just want to head out," I whisper into his ear. He nods his head and removes his hand from my shoulders. I hear him say his goodbyes and I wave my hand as we walk out of the room.

I need to get my head straight as soon as possible.
