《Charming Through the Lines》~Chapter 7~

By the time I get home, it's about 2 o'clock, meaning Bri and Hailee should be home. I unlock the door to my dorm, to be met with 2 girls screaming and running over to me.
"You have to tell us what happened!" Bri shouts as she engulfs me in a hug.
"Okay! Okay! Let me get through the door first," I say in between laughs. Bri vigorously nods and steps aside, letting me walk through the door. I put my stuff down and take a seat on my bed. Bri sits on her bed, and Hailee takes a seat at our desk. I begin to tell them how I studied with Matthew and stayed the night, but nothing had happened. Hailee was disappointed, oh well. I leave out the the moment I had with Leo in the bathroom, that should stay between us. I tell them about how practice went and when Leo and I shared earbuds during my editing class. Bri and Hailee both screamed with excitement when I said that part. Then, I told them about how we went for lunch and it wasn't awkward, and that I felt pretty comfortable.
"So you're saying that you spent a night in a guy's bed who you barely knew, then went for lunch with his best friend?" Hailee questioned with an eyebrow raised. I nodded slowly. Wow, I sound like a homie hopper, I promise I'm not.
"Do you feel anything for Matthew?" Bri asks.
"I think he's an incredible guy. He's attractive and nice, but I just didn't feel a spark. He doesn't make my heart jump. Leo does. I don't know why, I've only known the guy a few days, but he does," I reply.
"Maybe you should try making a move on Leo, I'm sure he wouldn't reject you," Hailee suggests. I shake my head, "He would never want to be with me. I want something long-term, and I'm guessing he only wants flings, judging by the number of girls he's hooked up with since coming here," I doubt he'd want anything long-term. He seems like he's having a good time with all the hook-ups.
Hailee tries to reason with me, but I disagree with everything she says. There's no point in having false hope in a guy like that. I'm not going to put myself through that pain again.
~
A few hours later, me and the girls are getting ready for the party tonight. I have on a plain, skin-tight black dress that reaches about mid-thigh. It shows a good amount of cleavage and has two straps holding it up. Normally I wouldn't wear something so revealing, but Bri gave me no choice. I decide to leave my hair natural, letting my curls flow I apply some light mascara and throw on a pair of Nike Airforces and I'm ready to go. Bri is in an off-the-shoulder, baby blue skater dress and Hailee is matching with me, except the back of her dress is almost completely open, leaving her back on display.
I open my phone to a text from Josh saying he's here. I inform the girls and we all make our way out the door to Josh's car. I open the door to the front seat and plop myself down while the girls get in the back.

"You look stunning Aria," I smile and thank him, "You too Bri and Hailee," They give him a quiet thanks as he starts the car and drives to the football house.
When we arrive, Hailee and Bri go off to grab us some drinks, and Josh stays back with me. He leads me over to a couch that is filled with people. There's only a small space open, which causes us to have to squish in. Josh is on my left and a scary man is sat to my right. I'm not kidding this guy is huge. His arms are pure muscle and he looks like he could be 7 feet tall. If he's on the football team, he looks like he could be a linebacker. I turn to face him and notice his eyes are focused on mine. I give him a light smile which he returns.
"I've never seen you here," He says, "What's your name, pretty lady?" He asks, taking his hand in mine. I'm a little hesitant to let him hold my hand, but I just go along with it.
"Aria," He smiles and brings my hand to his lips, giving it a short, sweet peck. I blush slightly at the gesture.
"Lovely meeting you. I'm Caden," He replies as he drops my hand back to my thigh, "I'm going to get a drink, but I hope to see you soon," He smiles as he gets up from the couch. I smile back and move to where he was sat once he disappears into the kitchen. I turn to Josh seeing he is already looking at me with a glare.
"Who was that?" Josh asks through gritted teeth. Did I make him mad? I don't know how I could even make him mad.
"Caden," I answer with a shrug. He studies my face for a second before unclenching his jaw and visibly relaxing, "I'm going to go find Bri and Hailee," Josh nods at me as I get up. I weave between bodies in search for my two friends.
I can feel a pair of eyes on me as I walk, so I glance behind me and my eyes meet a familiar pair of hazel ones. Leo. He's leaned up against a wall, girls crowding around him, trying to get his attention. Instead, his eyes are on me, looking at me, more specifically, my outfit. His eyes slowly make their way to my face, where he finally makes contact. I smirk his way and give a little wave, which he guiltily smiles and nods his head in acknowledgment.
"Ari!" I turn to see where the voice came from. My eyes turn to my beautiful blonde friend Bri, "Come on! Let's dance!" Before I can reply, she grabs my arm and drags me to the dance floor. I can still feel Leo's eyes on me, but I ignore them and start dancing against Bri's body. My hips move to the rhythm of "She Knows" as my back is against Bri's front.
Once the song has stopped and another is about to play, I glance around the room. I quickly notice those captivating hazel eyes once again, which are fixed on me. He is once again, leaned against the wall, his arms crossed, giving me a perfect view of his muscular forearms.

Arms are hot, like really hot.
I feel a hand touch my back, thinking it's Bri, so I turn around, but I'm met with green eyes instead of the familiar blue.
"May I have this dance Aria?" I realize it is Caden, and I was right. This man is freaking huge! He stands at a whopping 6'7 and his hands look to be about the size of my freaking head. I blush a little and nod. He moves in front of me, causing my view of Leo to disappear. Caden places both hands on my hips and slowly starts moving them back and forth. I look up to see him staring down at me with a mischievous grin. "Slow Down" begins blasting through the speakers. I let out a little squeal of excitement.
"You like this song?" Caden asks, his voice filled with amusement. I nod and he suddenly spins me around so my back is against his front. His hands make their way to the lower part of my stomach, and I start to feel slightly uncomfortable. I've never had a guy touch me like this, not even Josh. Closing my eyes, I try to push away the feeling and continue to move my hips to the rhythm.
After a few moments, I open my eyes, and straight across from me, I see Leo. A tall, blonde girl is grinding against him, but his eyes aren't on her, they're on me. My eyes widen, embarrassment floods through my body. Leo place's his hands on the girls hips and moves her against himself. A weird feeling of jealousy floods through my veins. Feeling bold, I bend down, forgetting about Caden, and bring my body back up, causing my hair to flip in the process.
Why the heck did I do that?
I feel Caden's hands grip harder on me, but I ignore it and look back at Leo. Even in the dark with flashing lights, I can see the veins popping out of his arms. His hands look as if they're clenching onto the blonde for dear life. Caden's hands begin to move up, closer and closer to my breasts, which causes me to retract from him.
"I need to go to the bathroom, but thank you for the dance," I say. He looks disappointed but nonetheless nods. Without looking back, I make my way out of the room and toward the bathrooms.
I grab the doorknob of the bathroom, but a large hand covers mine. I look behind me and see the hand belongs to Leo. His eyes are hooded, and appear darker than usual. Without a word, he turns the doorknob and pushes me in, following close behind. I hear the door lock and I turn around to see him glaring at me. What did I do?
"You know, I think we have a thing for meeting in bathrooms," I joke. He doesn't laugh. Instead, he he closes his eyes and sighs. Huh?
"What the hell was that?" He questions, anger lacing in his voice. I'm slightly taken back, causing me to take a step back.
"What do you mean?"
"You. Dancing with that asshole, staring at me with those 'fuck me' eyes," He whisper shouts.
"I don't know what you mean, you were staring at me first," I reply, irritation in my tone.
"You can't look at me like that and then walk away!" He shouts.
Confusion spreads through my body as I say, "I don't know what you want me to tell you! I don't know why you're acting like this! You were right in front of me, I had nowhere else to look."
He covers his face with his hands and sighs again. Arms. Arms. Not the time Aria. Not the time.
"I'm sorry, look that guy is bad news, I'm trying to protect you," He says calmly. Me on the other hand, am not very calm anymore.
"Protect me? Leo, I don't need protection! I was just dancing! Why are you going all alpha male on me or something?" I see his jaw clench, and he strides over to me, planting his hands on my waist. Butterflies. Not the time again.
"Aria, please listen to me. Please, just stay away from him okay? He's bad," He whispers, his eyes boring into mine. I lift my hands from my sides and lightly push him away, and he respectfully removes his hands from me.
"I don't need you telling me what to do," I hiss through gritted teeth.
"How can you be so stupid? Just listen to me!" My mouth drops at his words.
"You know what? I'm done. After the cafe, I thought maybe I was too quick to judge you, but I was wrong. You're an asshole. You can't control me okay? You don't know me!" I yell. His mouth opens, but then closes again. His eyes look...hurt? I don't bother to keep looking, so I turn and unlock the door. Without another glance back, I walk out, anger coursing through my veins.
Who does this guy think he is? Why the hell is he even jealous? He was dancing with another girl!I walk back over to the living room and find Josh sat on the couch, talking to a few guys.
"Can you take me home?" I ask. Josh's eyebrows furrow, but he nods his head.
"Let me find Bri and Hailee and we can go. Go wait in the car," I nod take the keys from him.
~
By the time I make it home, it's around 12:30 a.m. Bri doesn't make me tell her why I wanted to leave but asks if we could talk later. I agree and change out of my outfit, and into a pair of shorts and a hoodie.
I get into my bed and wrap myself in the blankets. I can't help but think maybe I was too harsh on Leo. But before I could overthink it too much, I shut my eyes and fall asleep.
~
woooo! new chapter! leo be looking a little jealous...i wouldn't say he has much of a right to be, but you'll get his pov next :)
