《I Fell in Love with the Bad Boy》Chapter 17

Ace and I were having a great time in the party, and I could tell Beth was too. I caught glimpses of her dancing around with a few of her guy friends, laughing and playing around. I'm not the only friend she had, she was popular, after all, but I was the one who was the closest to her.

I could also tell that she was drunk. I never let her out of my sight, and I had asked Ace to keep an eye out for her as well. I was on the dance floor with Ace, both of us dancing as well. I kept thinking of how Ace had asked me to be his girlfriend. He did like me after all. I grinned, thinking of his nervous rambling. He looked so cute!

"What's with that creepy grin on your face?" Ace whispered in my ear, putting his left hand on my waist and scooting closer to me.

"It's not creepy! And anyway, I was just thinking about how you were stuttering outside," I smirked up at him. It widened even more as his neck started reddening.

"Since when did you become so cocky? I think I'm rubbing off on you," he moved his right hand and placed it on my arm, rubbing it up and down, sending goosebumps over it.

I slapped his arm away. I put my face on his chest to hide my blush that had erupted on my face. His chest rumbled as he let out a chuckle. "I've never seen anyone blush so much as you do at the most simplest comments. Or actions."

I looked up and moved out of his arms, ready to retort, when I felt a hand on my shoulder that was definitely not Ace's. Both Ace and I's faces turned to look at the drunk guy that was in front of us, swaying slightly on his feet.

"Hey gorgeous," he held his other hand in front of me. "Let's dance," he slurred, attempting a wink, but failing miserably when both of his eyes twitched. I pushed down the urge to laugh.

"She's with me," Ace's tight voice let me know that he was in his protective mode again. He pulled me close to him by my waist, letting the drunk guy's hand slide limply on his side in the process.

"Alright man, just asking for a dance," the drunk guy held up his hands in surrender, then abruptly turned around, swayed to his side and stumbled, and then walked away.

As soon as he was gone, I burst out laughing. Ace looked at me in a little surprise, before he joined me as well. "Did you see his eyes? The way they twitched!" I burst into another round of laughter, with Ace chuckling beside me. I composed myself by taking deep breaths.

I suddenly remembered about Beth, and looked around. I frowned when I couldn't find her. I bit my lip. What if something happened to her? What if she's too drunk to realize she's not in the party anymore? What if-

Ace broke my out of my pointless assumptions by saying, "Stop that."

I looked at him in surprise. "Stop what?" I asked in confusion.

"Biting your lip like that."

Now I was even more confused. "Why? I can bite my lips whenever I want. It's a free country, I can do whatever I want," I bit my bottom lip to prove my point.

Ace suddenly leaned forward and placed his lips on mine. I let out a surprised gasp, making him smirk in response. He pulled away before I could respond, leaving me wanting more. "That's why. When you bite your lip like that, it makes me want to kiss you."

I raised my eye brows at him. He's just making it up. Nevertheless, to see if he wasn't lying, I bit my bottom lip again, and sure enough, he leaned in again to kiss me. This time, I responded to his kiss before he pulled away. I felt his lip tug upward and I knew he was smirking.

Someone cleared their throat. Even though there was a lot of noise and a lot of people, I could tell that the cough was intended for us. We broke our kiss and looked at the person. Instantly, a blush spread on my cheeks as I looked at Beth's accusing glare.

"I was expecting you guys to start a heavy make-out session, so I didn't wanna interrupt it. But I figured you weren't going to, so I didn't mind interrupting," Beth slurred her words and took her time to say everything, reminding me that she was drunk.

I breathed a sigh of relief. She would've killed me if she was sober, for not telling her immediately that Ace was my ...boyfriend. It seemed so weird, to call him my boyfriend. Probably because I wasn't ever expecting it to happen.

Beth swayed on her side, breaking me from my thoughts. Ace grabbed her arm to stop her from falling. That was our cue to leave. I looked at Ace, and he nodded. "Can you carry her to the car?" I asked him. Beth didn't seem like she was in the position of walking. She was already giggling, trying to keep her eyes open.

I walked alongside of Ace as he carried Beth to the backseat. We both got in too, and he started driving. I closed my eyes, exhausted. All I wanted to do was go home and fall asleep on my bed.

"Tired?" Ace asked me quietly. I could hear Beth murmuring something in her sleep.

"Yeah," I replied, my eyes still closed. He didn't say anything back, not that it mattered. We sat in a comfortable silence, broken occasionally by Beth's giggles. I sighed. I'm going to make her sleep on the floor if she's going to keep giggling like that in her sleep.

Whenever I'm in a car, or anything moving, I always fall asleep. I can't help it, no matter how hard I try, I fall sleep. So I drifted off to sleep in Beth's car as well, even though it was only for thirty minutes.

The lack of the vibration of the car underneath me woke me up. I sat up straighter groggily, looking at the empty seat beside me. All traces of sleep vanished as my brain registered that the car was empty. My brain also decided to register how quiet and dark the street looked, with no lights on in any other house besides mine.

Heart racing faster, I quickly opened the car door, shutting it behind me, and practically ran up to the open door of my house. I let out a breath that I didn't know I was holding, and shut the door behind me. I turned around to make my way upstairs, and let out a shriek, jerking my head back in surprise.

It's only Ace you idiot. Calm down. "Are you crazy? You almost scared me to death!" I exclaimed to Ace, putting a hand on my chest to calm my racing heart.

"Almost? I totally scared you, just admit it," he smirked, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Not to death, though," I replied.

"Huh? Are you sure you're not sleep walking? Because you don't make sense."

"Are you sure you have a brain? Because you seem to be not using it," I arched an eye brow, challenging him to say something back.

He only grinned. "Good one. But, I still don't understand what you said," he raised both of his eyebrows, urging me to explain.

I sighed. "I said you almost scared me to death. Get it? Almost scared me to death. You completely scared me, but not to death. I almost died because I was scared."

"God Ellie, so many deaths occurred in one sentence?" he asked, shaking his head with a mock-frown on his face. I slapped his arm. "Ow! Damn woman, can you not be violent?" he said, rubbing his arm.

"I bet that didn't even hurt," I rolled my eyes at him. "By the way, why weren't you in the car?"

"I dropped Beth in your room. I had to carry her, she wouldn't have-"

"I know, idiot....but how'd you get in? You didn't have the keys?" I asked.

"Check your purse Princess."

"What purse?"

Ace scrunched his eyebrows. "What do you mean what purse? Your purse of course!"

"Haha, I'm just kidding," I smiled brightly at him, waving my purse in front of his face, and he just shook his head.

"You know, I can tell you're not in the mood right now," Ace gave a half-smile that sent my heart into a little frenzy. Awww, how cute! He could tell when I'm tired!

"Yep, I'm just gonna go crash in my bed right now. Too tired," I let out a yawn at the end, making him chuckle.

"You're like a little kitten, you know that?" he said, pinching my cheek. I slapped his arm away.

"How so?" I crossed my arms over my chest. He looked down, causing me to un-cross my arms and mutter a "pervert."

He let out another chuckle. "You're as cute as a kitten, and you try to be intimidating, but obviously, you fail."

"Like Sarah's b..... never mind," I changed my mind at the last moment. It would be too mean.

"What did you say? Like Sarah's what? Do you mean my mom?" he asked in confusion.

"I said never mind."

"Mom's what Ellie?" he took a step closer to me, a smirk implanting itself on his face.

"Nothing...." I stepped back, but he just grabbed me by my waist and pulled me closer to him, blocking any means of escape.

"My mom's what?" he repeated, still smirking.

"Okay, fine! I was going to say, 'like your Mom's birth control.'" His smirk vanished, replaced by a gaping mouth.

I giggled at his expression. "You made me say it! And by the way, you might wanna close your mouth. Don't want any flies to go in now, do we?" I repeated his wording from earlier. He was still gaping at me, and I suddenly wondered if I'd taken things too far. I bit my lip, now worried. Maybe he took offense to what I said?

"I told you not to do that," Ace broke my train of thoughts, and before I could realize anything, he yanked me to him and covered my mouth with his in a hungry kiss. I responded immediately. His mouth was so warm, the caress of his lips softer than I could have imagined. He tasted tentatively with his tongue, and I opened my mouth eagerly.

I felt Ace smirking through the kiss, and I mentally smacked myself. He deepened the kiss, his hand going up to the back of my head. I reached my hands up in his hair, running my fingers through the soft strands of his hair. The lack of air reminded me I needed to breathe. I pulled away, resting my head on his chest. I felt his chin on top of my head.

We were both breathing heavily from our heavy make-out session. I mentally laughed as I thought about what Beth had said to me in the party about how she was expecting a 'heavy make-out session'. She certainly didn't interrupt this one.

"I guess I should go now," Ace pulled away from me, looking down at me and smiling. It wasn't his usual smirk. It was a real smile. I imagined him saving it only for me. What? I have weird imagination, deal with it.

"Bye," I whispered, smiling back at him.

He left after that, but not before giving me a quick peck on the lips. I locked the door after him and went up to my bedroom. After changing into my pyjamas, I plopped down on the bed next Beth. She was still in the dress she wore to the party.

I was too small to try and change her out of her dress. I'd probably end up falling on the floor while trying to remove her dress. Oh well, I guess she was sleeping in her dress then.

I lay down on the bed, touching my lips and smiling to myself dreamily. Besides the morning incident, I could say that today was the best Saturday ever. Ace had asked me to be his girlfriend. I still couldn't wrap my head around that fact.

My eyelids started to droop eventually while thinking of him, and with a sigh, I closed my eyes and let sleep take over me.
