shadow and sonic appeared at the edge of the volcano in front of the bag of emeralds which shadow pick up but then saw sonic looking down at the bottom of the volcano shadow sigh then went to sonic side

'i know what your thinking sonic and i know that you had no choice but to do it in order to save the emeralds and me'

sonic turn his head to shadow looking upset about what he did to memphis but he did agree with shadow

'heh it funny the feeling i had as i saw you get drag down made me determined to save you and i'm truly glad i manage to even if it means that i had to...to kill another'

shadow just smiled and hugged sonic to comfort him by rubbing his back and whispering 'thank you' to him as they stayed like that till they felt a massive rumble from underneath them as they then saw that the lava in front of them was rising at a fast rate to the top shadow then gave sonic the bag and lifted him in bridle style and skated out of the volcano to go to knuckle's tribe with all the emeralds.

sonic and shadow look back as they got to there destination and saw that the volcano was erupting with a thick layer of black smoke rising out of the top with the sound of mobian's scream for there lives in the distance where the city was.

'shadow we need to go to Pompeii before it engulfs all the citizens'

shadow was about to go but was stop by knuckles

'im afraid that you can't do that but my tribe has already try to save them but they wouldn't listen so this will be there fate'

shadow put sonic down as sonic asked and then went up to knuckles

'sonic i know you care for others but if you go you would die with them as well as that you can't even walk with the damage on your body so please let me and shadow stop the bleeding before you collapse'

sonic look down to his body and didn't notice till then that his leg and side of his stomach was pouring out blood at a fast rate but was still not going to give up on Pompeii but then heard another voice appeared behind knuckle at the distance were the altar was

sonic try to walk closer but started to feel the pain in his leg and stop him in his tracks making shadow going up to sonic and then carry him up to the top of the altar to a glowing lime green master emerald

'wait you mean......i killed memphis and a city full of mobians with my own choice i made'

sonic drop on the floor after hearing the fact that he had killed all the mobian's of Pompeii and memphis with his own hands making sonic tear up but soon then fell unconscious from the lack of blood that was pouring out of his leg and wound from the arrow

'SONIC' shadow catch sonic head before it hit the floor put pressure on his leg and sonic side to stop the bleeding

both hedgehogs was covered in a flash of green as shadow held onto sonic and then was sling out of the light landing on the ground in front of tails and knuckles who was shocked by the sudden appearance then they both went up to shadow who was cling on to sonic that was on top of him shouting at tails to give him the emerald.

'I DON'T CARE JUST GIVE TO ME SO I CAN TAKE SONIC TO THE HOSPITAL BEFORE HE BLEEDS TO DEATH'

Tail look at sonic really quick and saw that he was unconscious with blood poring out of the side of his stomach and his leg looking battered and bruised making tail give the emerald to shadow saying that he will meet him there.

shadow didn't reply he just chaos control landing on his feet on impact with sonic in his arms in front of a nurse demanding that sonic is to be treated immediately

the nurse rush to get doctors and other nurses to treat sonic in another room telling shadow to stay in the waiting room shadow went there and sat down not wanting to leave the hospital till he knew sonic was ok

3 hours later:

shadow was still waiting with tails and knuckles who came an hour after shadow did till one of the doctors came up to them

'sonic is very lucky as he's not only was dangerously low on blood but he also had an infection forming in the injury on the side of his stomach as well as many little scratches and bruises but he's alright now and awake if you would like to see him'

shadow was the first to get up and go to the room where sonic was making tails and knuckle confused as they thought he hated there blue friend but shook it off as they also went in to see sonic

tails and knuckle saw that shadow was next to sonic who was laying in the bed holding his hand trying to comfort sonic as he look like he was crying and knuckles had to ask after he saw how shadow was to sonic
