"You think she's dead?"

"Oh, don't be ridiculous! She's breathing!"

"STUPID HUMANS! GET OUT!"

My eyes shoot open immediately upon that shout reaching my ears. Groan. That was a very mean wake up call. And by that, I mean, literally mean. The headache flourishes quickly.

"Stupid fools! Look what you've done!"

Who...?

"Us?! You're the one who yelled!" Two voices shout out in sync.

Please stop the yelling, I grunt out inside. I bring my hands to my face before trying to sit up.

"Lucy, dear, " Makarov's soothingly gentle voice pulls my attention. "You shouldn't get up. You're still in shock."

"Shock? What?" I sit up with a heavy breath. "What's going on? Where am I?"

I take quick notice of Porlyusica and her house. The pink-haired elder stalked toward me with a vial of violet liquid. Everything about her expression indicated that she was very much irritated.

"You know, girl, " She began bitterly. "You've got to take care of yourself more! I hate it when you're run to me every time something goes wrong!"

"Sorry, Porlyusica, " I sheepishly smile, rubbing the back of my head. I scoot up into a more comfortable position.

She scoffs. "Drink this. It'll help with the headache."

I'm handed the vial. I frown feeling the hotness of the liquid. How did she know?

"It's so obvious you are a magnet for trouble. Especially with those felons around!" Porlyusica's forehead suddenly became adorned with a bulging vein.

My eyes fly to the guys. They sit on stools and have identical expressions of either indignation or dejection. It was rather amusing to watch them squirm under Porlyusica's glare, even more, when Happy was perched atop Cobra's head. He was just nestled into the man's maroon locks, dozing away.

"I'm sorry, Porlyusica! Don't take it out on them, it's not their fault nor is it mine!" I defend the men rather quickly.

"We shouldn't worry about what happened on the train, " I find myself looking at the familiar face of Makarov. "We should be more concerned with getting you back to Fairy Tail in one piece." His mustache perks up as he smiles at me.

"I'm happy to see you again, Makarov."

"As to you, child."

"Great. Great. Now that you've established each other, can we go?" Midnight broke the silence almost rudely.

Almost rudely doesn't make any sense. Okay, let's be honest. He was rude about it. I sent a glare his way. He didn't really give a damn about the mushy business, it was obvious.

"You're all class." I sarcastically grin.

"They told me about what happened, " Porlyusica, out of the blue, says. Her expression becomes stoic and she glared at me in wrath. "Stupid girl!"

I flinch at her tone. It was cold, stern. Protective, if I may dare to add. I understood her harshness, and I also understood her wanting me to stay away from danger. I mean, I don't like being in danger, either. Being in danger means my child is also at risk. Ba-dump.

"Is the baby okay?" I'm quick to ask.

"Of course! The child is healthy and unharmed. It seems the flames protected you, " Porlyusica took my arm, the one that was the victim of being grabbed and has the fingernail crescent marks—which were miraculously not present. I was so sure I'd have at least some bruising, but there was nothing. "Your own child healed and protected you." The old woman said releasing my arm gently.

My own baby protected me? Again, the roles are reversed! I'm supposed to be protecting him! (A/N: if you hadn't gotten the memo, Lucy doesn't know the gender of her baby, she's trying to find ways to call it different names other than 'baby' or 'it') I can't believe it. I mean, I can, but even in the womb? He can use magic from within the womb? It's astonishing to think about it. I mean, I can feel the power my child has. It's incredible, but I didn't think that power would be used so early.

"Anywho, " Porlusica broke me from my thoughts. "Drink that medicine. I'm sure you're tired from today."

I obey her orders (not because I'm scared of her or anything...okay, maybe a little...) and I down the liquid in the vial. I grimace at the unpleasant taste. I gulp it down quickly and hand the vial to Porlyusica.

"You're one foolish woman, Lucy Heartfilia, " Porlyusica says.

I look at her, eyebrows knitting together.

"Ain't that being easy on her?" Midnight cuts in slyly. "I'd say she's a complete dolt."

"Wha—hey!" I snap my attention toward the dark-haired man, glaring at him.

"Young man, " Makarov cuts me off with a sharp stare directed at Midnight. "I kindly recommend you chose your words wisely in my presence."

With that, Midnight zipped his lips. I would too, especially knowing what Makarov could do.

"It's getting late. You should leave."

"But, we —" I focus on the old woman again, I'm met with a disgusted glare.

"I said, OUT! I've had it with you stinky, stupid humans! Out! OuT!"

I slip from the bed with the help of Makarov. Porlusica hadn't brought out her broom yet, so I'd say she's giving us a head start before whipping it out. I nearly laugh seeing my charges were already out of the door.

"Hey, could we go grab some food? I tell ya, I'm starving."

"Of course, child," Makarov says, who takes my bag —which I honestly had forgotten about, considering I just woke up— and slings it over his own shoulder. The bag is only an inch above the ground.

"Oh, I can take that!" I hurry to take my bag, but Makarov gives me this look that stopped me.

"It's rather rude to let a pregnant woman carry unnecessary weight. I don't want you straining any more than you have to." Makarov sped away from me like he was some jolly elf or something.

"Wha—Makarov!" I give the stink-eye before he disappears outside. My shoulders slump in defeat. Crafty devil, he is. Knowing I can't run. Sigh. I look back at Porlyusica. "Thank you, like, a million times."

"I don't need thanks!" The grouchy woman hissed momentarily. "Just stay out of the sights of danger, you hear? I don't want to see your face here again!"

"Right, " I chuckle, shaking my head some. "Don't pop a vein. See ya!"

And with that out of the way, I exit the tree cottage, shutting the door behind me. Unbeknownst to me that Porlyusica sent a small smile before the door shut.

~It's just Porlyusica~

Her crimson orbs stare at the wooden door. Her ghosted smile drops into bemusingly.

"Foolish girl, " The magic practitioner hummed sourly. "I told her to be careful!"

She knew the girl wouldn't stray from the path of hazard, whether it is magical or not. The woman wanted to smack the Heartfilia girl upside the head for being so magnetic to trouble.

Grunting out, Porlyusica places the vial given to Lucy on the side table. How could one person be so much trouble?

"THIS IS WHY I HATE HUMANS!" The pink-haired elder bursts at no one in particular.

If any more of this happened, Porlyusica was sure she'd have a stroke. Her nerves were shot. Pinching the bridge of her nose, the woman sits on the stool near her.

Even though she harbored strong hatred for humans, Porlyusica couldn't hate the girl. Frowning, she recalled the time from months ago when the blonde female scurried to her doorstep in the thunder and pouring rain. It struck her odd she would travel so far on foot, especially during the time of night and into the depths of the forest.

At the time, she hadn't realized what had happened.

And when she had, Porylusica vowed to herself she would assist the girl if need be. The girl wasn't so bad and she did her best to keep out of the practitioner's way. She was far broken than the last time they met.

Lightning cracked across the sky, thunder roaring so loud, it could put a dragon to shame. The rain plunged from the skies, pitter-pattering heavily on the roof and sides of the tree cottage. It was late into the night, but Porlyusica was still wide awake.

It wasn't because of the dreadful storm. Oh, no. It wasn't that. She had been mixing extra portions of potions; healing potions, sleeping potions, potions that renew organs (this one is new).

Right now, she was concentrating on the miniature, boiling cauldron and the purple bits of hog tongue she grasped tightly with tweezers, carefully lowering the flesh piece to the bubbling goo. Hands steady fully focused. Her brows squished together with the extreme concentration.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

"Oh!" Porlyusica wasn't one to startle easily, but that furious knocking at her door broke her focus and caused her jolt to lose grip on the tongue piece. It plopped into the steaming goo. A tiny explosion of blue and yellow smoke nearly flamed Porlyusica's eyebrows off.

"What in the name of—" Porlyusica growled, slamming her utensils on the table, creating a tremor that made everything on the table rattle.

Stomping her way to the door, ready to yell at the idiotic moron who dared come at this time of night. The old woman snatched her broom from its little space, gripping the handle, ready to whack away the unwanted guest.

The patters of the rain became louder the second Porlyusica opened the door.

"Stupid human—eh?" Porlyusica finds herself staring at a sobbing blonde who crouched painfully, her arms wrapped around her stomach.

She was drenched from head to toe. Her body trembled violently from the cold and rain. The old woman lowered her broom, a sudden remorseful emotion flooding her body. The girl was in great despair and anguish.

Doe brown eyes flicker upward, meeting her red ones.

"Po-Porlyusica. . .please h-help me!"
