《Babysitting Criminals While Pregnant *Slow Updates*》Chapter 44

It could've been no later than the early afternoon when my baby decided to squish its heels into my undeserving and poor bladder. I put my bookmark in my novel and set it down on the seat next to me.
Welp, I guess nature unwilling beckons me. I glance at the two men across from me, they were just snoozing away like carefree idiots. A smile blooms on my lips. That's what I like to see. Them with their mouths shut and calm.
They looked so peaceful and relaxed. I hope the petition for them to be set free will succeed. All those terrible things they've done...it was how they survived, even if they thrived off the pain they caused. I know the pain I've gone through doesn't even amount to the suffering they've gone through. They're just...incredibly plagued by their pasts and agony.
I'm brought out from my thoughts as the pressure on my organs intensifies.
"Crud..." I grunt under my breath placing a hand on the seat and the other on my belly, heaving myself up.
Gravity is against me as I waddle from the compartment.
"Excuse me..." I say brushing past a strange character with a bulky trench coat with an ass that was probably the size of a horse's rear end. They were sketchy, but for now, I'm more concerned about not pissing myself accidentally.
!
Twenty minutes pass as if they were hours. Long, torturous hours. I couldn't understand my own gender, I mean, I could, but seriously? Each and every stall on the bathroom car was in use and the sinks were clogged with women retouching their faces with makeup.
I tapped my foot impatiently, rotating my neck with a grimace. I'm suddenly given a weird look by one of the other women hogging the mirror.

"Yes?" I flash a tiny smile, and to the best of my ability, I tried not to be snarky with her. I was already on edge because people were taking too damn long and I really, really had to go.
"Could you stop that tapping? You're giving me a migraine." She returns my smile in haughty-ness.
"Oh, I'm sorry, Princess, " I sneered, not really caring about her feelings anymore. "A twelve-ounce fetus is currently resting on my bladder. So, no. I will not stop tapping. Would you stop hogging the sink? You've been there longer than I've been waiting."
"Okay, okay, " One of the stalls opens as a flush can be heard, and a rather curvaceous blonde strides out. "Sorry for taking so long, and my apologies for my girlfriend."
"You're fine", I say, walking to the now empty stall.
"Oh, and congratulations." She says before she and her girl left the bathroom.
"Thanks?" Confusion flamed through my veins before realization hit me that she was talking about my baby. Man, was I a little slow today!
I watch as she exited the bathroom. I almost felt guilty for acting the way I did, then I remembered I why came here in the first place and that feeling disappeared immediately. I needed to hurry and get back to Cobra and Midnight, they're probably awake by now.
!
At the end of the bathroom car, there were two very shifty lowlife-like people scampering about. One trench-coated figure approaches the two, pausing in front of the crate they hide, putting his fists on his hips.
For long hours, these men trekked through from the cargo cars, and onto the civilized cars. After snooping through luggage and important boxes and taking what they saw fit to be valuable, they sought out for the money and jewels on the passengers. They were just waiting for the perfect moment to strike.

And that moment has been delayed for obvious reasons of fearing that there were wizards aboard the train, and being wizards themselves made them rethink their little fear.
"Are you ready, men?" He made his presence known proudly.
The two men spring up like prairie dogs, both expressing themselves with excited grins. One man was rather large and stubby, having fish-like lips, anyone would be appalled. The other man was skinnier, with rat-like teeth and a long nose. They saluted their leader with, "Yes, Boss!"
With that being said, the leader rids himself of the trench coat and hat, revealing a full-body, tight black leotard. The man had an unusually large posterior, and which the trait was shared with his lackeys.
"What do we do, Boss?" The chubby lackey asks, almost ducking back behind the crates when a lone figure enters the hall.
The boss man grins deviously taking quick notice of the bulging belly of the woman in his sights. "First, we gotta make sure these passengers do what we say."
!
I felt so much better! Although, anyone could care less about being told about a bathroom break. I've just about had it with the constant need to pee and the fatigue ness and the morning sickness and constant bodily aches.
Those people really did a number on me with that stupid age spell. My body hasn't caught up with the symptoms I would have had in the early development of my baby. Not to mention, my body still hasn't adjusted to the sudden growth of the baby and my muscles are slowly shifting uncomfortably.
Reaching out, my fingers grasp the car door handle and I'm ready to pull the door open, but a voice breaks out and stops me.
"Excuse me, Miss?"
That voice was eerily familiar, and yet, foreign to my ears. I peer over my shoulder to make eye contact with the owner of the voice, a feeling of dread crawling into my chest.
To my surprise, I did indeed recognize him and the men behind him. I recognized their leotards straight down to their enormous buttocks. And I certainly didn't wanna stick around when they started shooting them things.
"C-can I help you?" I begin nervously, my grip tightening on the handle. I should play this safe for as long as I can, for my baby.
The middle man grins, perching his fists onto his hips, "Why, thank you for asking, Miss! This is a train heist! And you're gonna ensure our efforts aren't for nothing."
Suddenly, I'm getting two, very springy asses pointed at me, causing me to tense up automatically and my arms fly to my belly protectively.
"H-hey! Do-don't point those death machines at me!" I yelp in angsty.
"We won't hurt you if you cooperate with our terms, " The butts perk up, ready to shoot and destroy my sense of smell along with sending me through the train car.
The man's grin widens as his entire face hardens in a rather conceited way. Probably because they have me backed into a corner...well, doorway and practically threatening me and my baby into helping them. "So, Miss, what do you say?"
"U-uh..."
Well, shit.

Distant Leaps to Circinus
A dark fantasy story that takes place on a reborn Earth. "With all the planets in the universe, it just had to be this one." Not many thoughts came to mind when scientists said they could provide the Earth with nearly infinite power. Humans could only think about the future, after all: they could travel to the farthest reaches of space, never worry about their electric bills again, and give rise to new and innovative technologies. With such good outcomes on the horizon, there was no way humanity would sit idle; instead, they studied perhaps the most powerful entity in the entire Milky Way. It seemed that, after its appearance decades ago, the strange and unmoving black sphere was something of a godsend. There will always be a reason for these things. With one touch, our very reality was but a grain of sand in an hourglass. In an instant, the Earth was gone - replaced by something… different. More than a century later, Earth’s remains have reformed into a completely different beast - a planet both alive and dead at the same time. Physics that were once understood no longer made sense, giant land masses floated in the sky, and billions of people fought for their very survival. Work, sleep, and play were no more; it was time for the world, Circinus, to reign. The birth of Circinus could only be the beginning. The powerful yet ever-elusive black sphere seemed to watch the world from afar - casting light for those below, but never truly emitting light from itself. What does it all mean for the children of Circinus - children born with eyes that seemed to stare into God’s heart?

Threads follows the interconnected stories of individuals from all strata of this world, from the lowly in-training cadets, to the mighty and seemingly invincible generals, to the otherwise innocuous and 'powerless' civilians.
