《Sakuras In Ice (A Bleach Fan fiction)》14: Kindness and Charm

Yuki is currently shaking in fear and anger after what happened in the squad 12 barracks. She is currently being carried by Yumichika and she is never intending to let go.
"I-i-i am n-n-never going back t-t-there again!" Yuki said shaking
"What really happened? Why are you running away?" Yumichika asked
"He pulled my tail!" Yuki exclaimed while showing Yumichika her tail
"And he doesn't want to share his cookies." She added with a pout
"Is that all? That's not enough reason to cry and shake." Ikkaku scoffed
"Not enough reason?! How do you like your balls being grabbed on and pulled?!" Yuki screamed with vigor and hugged Yumichika
At that analogy, Ikkaku had chills running down his spine and a disgusted-painful expression form on his face. He also unconsciously gripped his family jewels.
"Is it really that bad?" Ikkaku asked with a grimace
"Yeah." Is Yuki's muffled answer
"Ah, Yumichika-san, Ikkaku-san. Nice seeing you here." A voice said behind them and they turned around
"Captain Ukitake. Good day." They both greeted and bowed
Ukitake smiled and saw a little girl in Yumichika's arms.
"My, is that Yuki?" He said
Yuki lifted her face from Yumichika's neck after she faced the so-called "Captain Ukitake". Her eyes widen and she immediately jumped down from Yumichika and rushed towards the captain.
"CHICHIUE!" Yuki screamed as she jumped and hugged Ukitake in the neck
Everyone in the vicinity had there eyes almost bulging out of their sockets.
"EEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHH?!?!"
"Chichiue? I'm sorry, child. But I am not your father." Ukitake said as he looked at the girl in his arms
Yuki looked at him and smiled.
"I know." She answered
Everyone who heard it anime fell and Ikkaku was the first one to react.
"THEN WHY DID YOU RAN TO HIM CALLING HIM AS SUCH!" He screamed
"I don't know. But he reminded me of one. Thou I don't remember having one myself." Yuki said and giggled
She then felt her 'Chichiue' laugh and she laughed as well.
"You really are an interesting person like Shunsui said. Wanna go to my squad? I will feed you." Ukitake said
Yuki's eyes widened and she nodded vigorously at the mention of food.

"Do you have any sweets?" Yuki asked
"Of course. Whatever you want." Ukitake said and patted her head
After that, the group of four went towards the squad 13's barracks to have some snacks.
"CAPTAIN UKITAKE!!!!!" Came voices running towards the group upon entering the squad premises
"Captain, why didn't you tell us you were leaving? What if something happened to you?" A man said
"Sorry, Sentaro, Kiyone. I just felt great today so I decided to take a stroll." Ukitake said and laughed
"Next time inform us so we can go with you." Kiyone said
"Good thing Madarame-san and Ayasegawa-san is with you. Thank you for escorting him back." Sentaro said and bowed to the two
"No no no, it's actually-"
"Hi Kiyone nee-san! Hi Sentaro-san!" Yuki said immediately cutting off Yumichika's words
Kiyone and Sentaro looked at her and only then realized that their captain is holding a hetero chromatic girl with the same hair color with him and cat features.
"Are you Yuki-chan?" Kiyone asked with a head tilt
Yuki nodded and smiled.
"Are you Isane onee-san's sister?" Yuki asked and Kiyone nodded
"How did you know our names?!" Sentaro asked surprised
From this statement, Kiyone gave him a jab on the side and Sentaro fell to his knees while clutching his side.
"You fool! That's Yuki Sakura. The cat shinigami that everyone is talking about!" Kiyone scolded him in a whispered voice
Only then that Sentaro knew who she really was.
"Anyway, let's go inside so we can have a chat with some tea." Ukitake said with a smile
Suddenly, a hell butterfly came and landed on Yumichika's shoulder. He nodded his head and faced Ikkaku. Ikkaku got the message and stretched.
"Is something wrong, Yumichika onii-san?" Yuki asked
"It's nothing, my dear. We just have to leave early. Seems like we have a mission to go to." Yumichika said
Yuki tilted her head but nodded in understanding.
"Okay. Be careful." Yuki said and gave them a sweet smile
Yumichika patted her head and gave her a kiss on the forehead. Ikkaku looked at her and smirked.
"Don't be a trouble to Captain Ukitake, okay?" Ikkaku said

"I won't. Bye bye!" Yuki waved at them and they flashed stepped away
"So, ready to go inside?" Ukitake asked and Yuki nodded vigorously
Inside the barracks, Yuki had the time of her life. Ukitake decided to tour her around his squad and show her the senkaimon that their squad had. Yuki gawked at almost everything in the squad 13 especially their wide pond. Yuki was busy chasing the dragonflies that are whizzing past her while Ukitake watched her from the shaded gazebo near the water.
Senatro and Kiyone then came and bringing them tea, milk and some snacks. Ukitake called on Yuki and the both of them ate away while chatting.
"So Yuki, how do you find the squads so far? Considering this is your last stop." Ukitake asked
"Well, some squads are nice, some squads are scary and some are very funny and sweet. I like almost all of them." Yuki said as she took a bite out of her giant cookie
"Do you have a squad in mind now?" Ukitake asked
"Well, I have a few. But I can't seem to pick which one among them." Yuki said with a sad pout
"Which squads are they?"
"1, 3, 6, 10, 11 and here." Yuki said
"Well can you tell me why those squads?" Ukitake asked
Yuki crawled towards her Chichiue's lap and sat there. Ukitake then proceeded to rub Yuki's back.
"I want to be in squad one so I can always stay with Yama-jii and to show him gratitude for bringing me here and that is practically where I live."
"Gin is a very nice guy. I like him cause he has a pure heart and I can see he will do anything for the ones he cared about."
"Master Byakuya is next because as a noble, I have to serve him. I also enjoy the sakura trees in his backyard and the Koi fish are entertaining."
"Master Toshiro. . ." Yuki stopped and turned red
"What about Toshiro?" Ukitake was puzzled why Yuki stopped
"Um.... M-master Toshiro is a contractor of the Ice Queen so that means I also h-have to serve him." Yuki is stuttering and fidgeting
"Kenpachi-san is a very strong person. I would really like to fight him again and I feel like I can be myself when I do."
"And here is because of Master Rukia. Both a noble and under the Ice Queen. So I really need to serve her. And also my Chichiue is here."
"So there, Chichiue. I am stuck in picking those squads." Yuki finished and rested her head on Ukitake's chest
"Hmm, that is really hard. Choosing between gratitude, duty and admiration." Ukitake said and slowly rocked his body side ways
"Yeah. I don't know what to do, Chichiue. How will I choose?" Yuki asked then yawned
"You have to answer that yourself. Choose what your heart and mind wants and I am sure wherever that is, it will give you joy." Ukitake said and a mild breeze blew by making Yuki yawn again and curl towards Ukitake
"Hmm, you're right. I should go where I want. Disregarding the trivial things. Thanks, Chichiue." Yuki said and fell asleep
Ukitake felt her even breaths and chuckled to himself. He stayed there still rocking Yuki and not moving to not disturb her. Thou he slightly felt that his body is becoming lighter and that he doesn't feel tired like he was before. He felt his breathing ease up and the heat doesn't affect him much. He felt relaxed.
What he didn't know, is that Muracho is emitting a soft green and blue glow that is equivalent to a Healing Kido in shinigamis, only better. It seems like Muracho was visited by two energetic kids and told her of their master's sickness. So Muracho having the instinct of a mother, agreed to Sogyo no kotowari's request and decided to do what she can to make Ukitake feel better. After that, Muracho gained kids.
TIME SKIP
Yuki woke up and she immediately looked around her. She was confused because she was back in her room in the first squad's barracks and on her futon. She scratched her eyes and stretched. She looked beside her futon and her eyes glistened at the amount of sweets their and a small stuffed white cat with buttons for eyes. She took the cat and she saw a note underneath it.
To my sweet Musume,
Welcome to the family.
Love,
Your Chichiue, Jushiro Ukitake
Yuki can't help but smile at the simple yet sweet letter. She got out of her futon and took some of the sweets and went to the Head Captain to eat.

City of Champions Online
Having found the tragic truth that an art degree is worth less than the paper it is printed on, Jacquelyn Jones is frustrated with her dead end work as a graphic designer for a marketing firm, finding new ways to try and convince people that this week's 50 cent off sale is actually worth driving to the store. She's tried other VRMMORPGs, but they've all been fantasy-based, with a couple sci-fi games thrown in. But she wants something more, something Super. Superhero VRMMOs have had a... subpar reception in the past, in part due to the fact that the nature of most MMOs makes for fairly unheroic tales. After the couple hundredth time blasting the same group of mooks from the same faction on the same street corner of the same city, using the same powerset as everyone else because you only have a few options, it is hard to think of yourself as a hero anymore. But then she heard about City of Champions Online. For the first time, a developer partnered with a tabletop RPG maker to use their system to create a VRMMORPG, and it was one of the systems designed to be used with superhero games! Starchild
“It’s life’s illusions I recall. I really don’t know life at all.” from the song, Both Sides Now, by Joni Mitchell Starchild is an adventure novel set within an understanding of reality that is rooted in Eastern spiritual traditions. It takes as its starting point experiments in remote viewing that were genuinely undertaken by the American military in the nineteen-nineties under the name of the Stargate Project. It then imagines how a more advanced attempt to weaponise the capabilities of consciousness might have been developed in the present day.The story then explores how Ultimate Reality might respond to such a threat.Deep, elemental forces thus bring together Samantha Martin and Sahadeva Varma, old colleagues from the Stargate Project, to avert the apocalyptic consequences of this military attempt to weaponise consciousness. This fast-paced story spans genres including romance, action, adventure, science fiction and more. Although this story is based on concepts drawn from established spiritual traditions, these have sometimes been extrapolated to the point of very extreme speculation for the needs of an adventure story.Much of the underlying philosophy, however, as explained in the dharma talks given by Samantha Martin, is paraphrased from the guidance of respected spiritual teachers. Scheduling: Starchild is a previously unpublished novel of one hundred thousand words which was serialised in weekly instalments over twenty-five weeks from 15th November 2021 to the 29th April 2022. Each instalment contains five chapters – an average of approximately four thousand words in each instalment. The Eternal Vigil
The year is 2220, a time when governments and nation-states are slowly becoming a thing of the past. Instead, all prominent parts of human society are now organizing around the commands of three great Artificial Intelligences, owned and operated by the world's largest corporation. World peace has been achieved, and the very word 'politics' has disappeared from people's lips. Religion has largely disappeared, replaced in some parts by worshipping of the great AIs, but mostly substituted by a devotion to material goods and faith in the market. There is now a general consensus that the best form of government has been found. No, it is not democracy, nor is it autocracy or oligarchy. Instead, it is technocracy - rule by the learned, the intelligent, and the skilled. And who are more learned, intelligent, and skilled than the great AIs? Exactly, no one. The AIs will correct some market failures once in a while, but shall otherwise let the market be free. After all, the freer the market, the freer the people. Some may question how society advanced to this stage, but that is all they will do - question. Because they will not find answers, for history is no longer taught anywhere. After all, it is not a practical subject. One cannot get a decently paying job with a history degree. Society doesn't have any time for people to idly ponder about the past. No, this is a practical society of practical people: engineers, doctors, lawyers, developers, managers, bankers, soldiers, and the such. My name is Aiden Scivit and I used to be one such practical man: minding my own business, doing my job, with the faith that hard work will always be rewarded by the market...and that politics and philosophy were things thought of by idly people who leech off society. But this all changed, and here is my story, my history. Just because the stories of ages long past have been erased, does not mean that a brand new beginning cannot be created. The story is already finished but I still need to do some editing so a chapter should be released each day for a month. It is a bit political, as you can probably tell by the introduction, so there is that (it will low-key read like a philosophy dump 10% of the time, so really it's like Atlas Shrugged but liberal and worse lol). Also, I actually wrote this in grade 10 as part of my MYP Personal Project, and recently touched up on it for online publication. Finally, if you find the writing style passable and are interested in my other works, check out the one in the link below. It is a fantasy set in the Ancient Greek world, and is completed and uploaded in full: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/35099/the-oresteia-modernized
