《Sakuras In Ice (A Bleach Fan fiction)》5: Keep Calm and Smile

After the encounter with the higher ups of the 3rd squad, the group continues their walk around Seiretei. This time, Yuki decided to eat first so she asked the two where a good place to eat is.
"Master Rukia Kuchiki, pardon for my insolence, but may I ask a place where we can eat?" Yuki asked with politeness in her voice
"You know you can just call me Rukia. Master is not needed. For the place, a know a nice ramen shop." Rukia answered
"Thank you for answering my question. As for your request, I'm afraid I cannot do such a thing. It is essential for me to call you Master." Yuki said
"Well you can drop the last name. Just call me Rukia." She said
"Very well then, Master Rukia." Yuki said then bowed
Rukia sweat dropped and looked at Renji with an amused face. After a while, they reached the ramen shop and eat for a while until Yuki felt a heavy reatsu.
"What's wrong, Yuki?" Renji asked
Without saying a word, Yuki sprinted out of the shop just in time to spot a Hollow flying about Seiretei. A few shinigamis are already on the move but it seems they are having a rough time since the Hollow is flying.
"A Hollow?!" Rukia said when they went out of the shop.
Yuki flash stepped near the Hollow and it seemed startled by her sudden appearance.
"Glide, Muracho!" She said then threw her hairpin at the Hollow
The Hollow dodged and started laughing.
"Is that all you got?" He taunted Yuki
Yuki just smirked and all of a sudden, the Hollow was split in half by what seems like two fans connected by a chain. Yuki caught the fans and was surprised to see more Hollows attacking. An alarm was heard alerting all personnel and available shinigamis to eradicate the Hollows.
Yuki is still suspended in the air waiting for the Hollows to attack. When they decided to attack all at once, Yuki clutched her fans and chanted her attack.
"Sakura Dance: Frost Step." Yuki said and swung her fans in a graceful manner as if she was dancing

As she swung her fans, frozen sakura petals emerged from it and quickly froze anything it touched. When the Hollows attacking her were all frozen, Yuki descended from the air and clicked her fans closed. The frozen Hollows then began to shatter and the shards fell like snow. Her fans then turned back to daggers which returned to it's hairpin form and Yuki placed it back in her hair.
When she turned around to return to her Master Rukia's side, she noticed a bunch of shinigamis looking at her.
"What?" She asked aloud and the shinigamis quit staring
When she spotted her two escorts, she was shocked to see Renji slumped on the floor with a cut on his arm. She quickly ran towards him and kneeled beside him.
"Renji-kun! What happened?!" Yuki asked on the verge of tears
"Nah, it's nothing. Just a tiny scratch. Nothing to worry about." Renji assured Yuki
"But still, we have to get it treated!" Yuki sad now crying
"Hey, hey. No crying. I'm not gonna die. Tell you what, the squad we're gonna go now is a healing squad. And it's a coincidence because that is squad 4. So wanna go now?" Renji said while wiping Yuki's tears
Yuki nodded but can't stop the tears from falling. Renji just chuckled and carried the crying Yuki using his good arm then walked all the way to the squad 4 barracks.
TIME SKIP
When they arrived at squad 4, Yuki has already fallen asleep on Renji's shoulder. Captain Unohana and her lieutenant, Isane, welcomed them inside.
"I presume this is Yuki-chan?" Unohana said in an ever so soft voice.
"Yes. Sorry she fell asleep. She was crying when she saw Renji's injury and insisted we come here." Rukia explained while staring at the sleeping Yuki
"My, such compassion. Isane, would you take her first from Lieutenant Abarai and tend to her for a while?" Unohana requested
"Yes, Captain." Isane answered then took Yuki from Renji.
After that, Rukia decided to stay with Isane in case Yuki woke up and freak out that some stranger is carrying her.

"Is she the one who defeated that horde of Hollows earlier?" Isane asked Rukia when they were at the squad's courtyard
"Yes she is. It's pretty much surprising to see her ability. I didn't know she was that strong." Rukia said while looking at the still sleeping Yuki.
Yuki shifted positions and she wrapped her arms around Isane's neck and her tail just dangling about.
"Hmmm.... Itegumo, stop that." Yuki mumbled in her sleep
"Eh? She knows the name of my zanpakuto?" Isane sounded surprised
"Ah, yes. It seems like her zanpakuto can communicate with our own and informs her." Rukia explained
"But why does it sound that she is speaking to them?" Isane asked
"Maybe she can enter their inner worlds. It's not surprising anymore. Since she can know your name just by looking at your eyes." Rukia added with a giggle
Isane giggled too and continue rocking back and forth with Yuki in her arms.
"Oh my, she's still asleep?" Unohana appeared behind them with a bandaged Renji in tow.
"Yes. She seems comfortable, look." Isane said then showed them Yuki's position
"Hmmmm... Nice to meet you, Minazuki." Yuki mumbled again
"Ahaha. She's speaking to my zanpakuto. What a peculiar girl." Unohana said with a laugh
Minutes later, Yuki began to wake up and yawn. She scratched her eyes and tried to open one. When she saw who was carrying her, she gave her sleepy smile and greeted.
"Good morning, Isane-chan." She said softly
"Hehehe. Good morning too, Yuki-chan." Isane said with a giggle
Yuki looked beyond Isane and saw Renji smiling at her with the captain of the 4th squad beside him. She also saw her Master Rukia beside Isane smiling at her.
"Good morning, Captain Unohana." She greeted with a smile
"Good morning, Yuki-chan. Did you sleep well?" Unohana greeted back
Yuki asked Isane to bring her down and she did. She walked towards Renji and she looked at the bandage in his arm.
"Does it still hurt?" Yuki asked
"Nope. Squad 4's healing Kido is the best." Renji bragged
Yuki nodded and looked at Unohana.
"Thank you for treating Renji-kun." Yuki said with a bow
"It's really nothing. It is our job after all." Unohana answered
A member of the squad came running by looking for Captain Unohana. He seemed out of breath and nervous.
"Captain, some of the patients are fighting!" The member said frantically
"From what squads?" Unohana calmly asks but with authority
"Members of the 3rd and 11th squad." The member said
Unohana gave a nod and all of them followed after her. When they reached the place, men were glaring at each other and shouting profanities back and forth. The nurses attending them were cowering in a corner afraid to even stop them. Yuki tilted her head as she watch the riot.
"Why are they fighting, Master?" Yuki asked then looked at Rukia
"Well, from what I heard, they are having an argument on who is the best captain." Rukia explained as she facepalms
Yuki still watched the riot until Unohana stepped in and cleared her throat gaining everyone's attention.
"Well it seems like you lot are healthy enough to argue but may I remind you that you are in a hospital and there are still other patients resting here. You don't want to prolong your stay here, do you?" Unohana said with her signature smile but a deadly aura is surrounding her
The quarrelling patients began shaking and immediately returned to their beds. The others are used to this but Yuki stood there in awe and with sparkling eyes.
"That was so cool!! Can you teach it to me?!" Yuki said eagerly while jumping up and down
Unohana gave a small laugh and patted her head.
"That, my dear Yuki, isn't something that can be taught. You should discover your own way to confront others." Unohana said
Yuki gave a small pout and crossed her arms. Renji approached her laughing and patted her shoulder.
"Don't worry. You can find a way." He assured her.
Yuki just sighed and then remembered something.
"Oh yeah, I forgot, What squad are we in again?"
Everyone anime fell from her question and she just stood there confused.
"What?" She asked

The Cosmic Interloper
Synopsis: A cyborg transhuman escapes her corporate indenture and through unfathomably unlikely circumstances, she ends up in a fantasy world of full of unique magic, angry people with sharp implements, and the whole flavor-spectrum of divine entities. Hilarity ensues. Features: - No blue boxes or cultivation, this is not a LitRPG nor about martial arts - Hard-ish Sci-Fi meets hard-ish magic - Generally trying to keep this "rational" Rationale: My primary goal with The Cosmic Interloper is to write something that I myself would enjoy reading. Of course, that’s not the only motivation, but I think it’s the most important one for me to keep in mind, especially as the author. In fact, this whole story came about because after consuming oodles of fiction, I found myself craving a very specific type of story which I couldn’t find many examples of. Then I asked myself, “why not write it myself?” and here we are. Disclaimer: In general, while I’m not writing a comedy, I do intend for this story to be funny and a bit wacky or absurd. That said though, I am using this story as a vehicle to explore some potentially dark topics including (but not limited to) slavery, speciesism/racism, and existential questions of self, consciousness, and identity. Still, I’m going to leave the “traumatizing content” tags off, because I don’t feel that what I’ve written so far (or plan on writing) exceeds the threshold that would be necessary for me to tag it thusly. Also, [insert your favorite boilerplate “views expressed” disclaimer here]. I shouldn’t need to say this, but the main character can be wrong on occasion (gasp!) and the way she views the world is not the objective truth (if such a thing even exists).
8 162Humanity's End
Given a year to prepare by the mysterious ‘system’ for contact with the wider galaxy, humanity must work to ensure the Earth’s defense is ready to meet any challenge. Sadly, most of the world seems dedicated to tearing itself apart as the year-end deadline gets closer. The west is in barely contained Chaos, while the east descends into internal conflict and war. The Pillar Forts, one of the few successful projects of the United Nations headed by the United States, stand ready to defend humanity against any invasion that may come through the strange Connection Pillars that appeared on each continent. Massive steel and stone walls that surround the Connection Pillars. They are filled with deadly men and women trained in all manner of warfare, each trained in the newly acquired System with skills and magical abilities that they put to deadly purpose. Beside these brave warriors, tanks, helicopters, artillery and more stand ready to defend humanity at each of these powerful installations. But, can they overcome the disparity in levels and experience between themselves and the forces that threaten them and the rest of humanity? Main Characters Jessica Brown- A young African American girl. Her 18th birthday in Detroit was the same day the systems message appeared. She discovered she was Level 7, much higher than most of the rest of the world. Why she is blessed, or cursed, with the power she doesn’t know. But what she does know is that she rather likes the feeling that comes with manipulating magic. The week after her birthday, government workers started testing every person in the US in a massive census effort of skills and abilities. Jessica Brown found herself conscripted into the US Magical Corp, a new branch of the US Military, and shipped off to a Pillar Fort. Somewhere hot and muggy in her ancestors’ home of Africa. As she grows stronger, she finds she has some connection to the pillars. While everyone else sees beauty or danger when they look at the pillars, after connection is made all Jessica can see is a Tree. A tree the size of the entire universe. Isaka Smith - is a third generation American and farmer who just wants to be left alone. But she is dragged into the situation by events beyond her control. When people in her small town had to deal with rioters and looters after the system announcement, she rallied them to defend themselves, earning her a trait that the government found extraordinarily useful. After a visit to a local reservation, she finds herself conscripted to lead one of the many small support towns erected around the great pillar forts. Not near her old home, but in far-flung Africa. John McIntire, the “Fighting Bull” -The commander of the African Fort, but because of circumstances beyond his ability to contend with shortly after taking command after being re-activated from retirement, he finds communication with his chain of command increasingly difficult. The US government, hell, even the United Nations, seems to have fallen into complete and utter chaos. The African Union is embroiled in a bitter civil war just outside his door, and supposedly, most of the world governments are in similar situations. Meanwhile, John must do his best to be ready to facilitate diplomacy, or to match the hostile argument of whatever force might come through the pillar of light when the year timer finishes counting down. Can our heros defend Earth from outside threats, while it tares itself apart? Or will they need to rebuild from the ground up? DEDICATION: This story is dedicated to my father who passed away recently. Jim Holloway, you’ll be missed you old silverback gorilla. Love you dad. Always have, always will.

8 55Tale of the mage hero [Completed]
so I've been into rising of the shield hero for a while now... a lot of things about it ALWAYS bugged me starting with the fact that the world functions like a game and the heroes are supposed to fight together in a party.... BUT WHERE'S THE ARCHMAGE?! THE BLATANT DISRESPECT TO THE MAGE CLASS IS REAL AND ANGERING! so I decided as a gamer who rather enjoys being a mage and healer, I'd rectify that. and other things. for all intents and purposes this is a self insert but I will be using my proxy OC that I use in my nutty fangirl daydreams. DON'T WORRY! I'M NERFING MY PROXY! this will follow the plot of the anime because..... I want to. and I'm..... LAZY~! and using the manga is too much trouble and the light novel is 800+ chapters long. So FUCK THAT! anyways if you read this and think it's lackluster then I want to see you try your hand at writing tate no yuusha fics! no that's not a challenge or insult it's just a desperate plea for more tate fics... we need some more variety! Alright I'm gonna be honest here. This story is laughably bad. So read at your own risk. The only reason I'm not revising it is because 1 I'm Lazy as fuck and 2 to serve as a lesson on what NOT to do for new writers. So like I said, read at your own risk.
