《Unexpected Fondness┊saiki k x m!oc》otto┊Chapter 8

Kusuke was kind enough to get them all a flight back to Japan the next day. Asher wasn't expecting to leave so soon, but the sooner he was back home, the better.
His mom had been weirdly calm about him going completely out of the country... but it was better than her being angry, so he didn't mention it.
Anyways, it was close to being their summer break! Which is strange, considering how many breaks and times off from school they all have had, but whatever!
At the end of their classes before summer break began, the brunette was quickly out the door.
'I've gotta find Saiki! I want him to meet my mom this week... ugh, or maybe not. Maybe that's too soon. Maybe I should--'
'His thoughts are way too loud...'
Asher spent almost thirty minutes, asking people and searching for Saiki. He was determined to get what he wanted!
And when all hope felt lost, he heard his name.
"Oh, hey Saiki!"
The brunette turned to the voice, along with everyone else looking for him, and made his way to bombard him (Saiki) with questions.
"Saiki!! Saiki!! You should come over to my place this week!" his voice had gotten lost in the sea of everyone else's.
In the end, he walked out of the building feeling defeated. "Damn.. why is Saiki so popular?"
'I ask myself the same thing..'
The pinkette approached the brunette as he walked out, almost scaring the big guy.
"Oh- Saiki. Hey..."
"What's wrong with you?"
"What? I'm fine, I don't know what you're talking about."
"There's no point in lying."
Asher sighed, giving a small shrug. "I'm just kinda bummed we won't be able to hang out this break. But, I guess I've always got Kaidou and Aren..."
Saiki almost wanted to click his tongue. "I never said I didn't have time for you."
"Yeah, but all of them were asking you to do things too."
The smaller of the two squinted at Asher. "Since when are you so submissive..?"
His cheeks flared. "Huh!?"
"You don't seem like the type to give in so easily."
Asher clicked his tongue. "You don't know nothing."
'Oh, I know much more than you think.'
"Well, since you're just going to give in, I'll be going now--"
"Wait! You didn't even give me a chance!"
Saiki rolled his eyes. "Right."
The brunette cleared his throat. "So. If you're free next weekend, wanna come over to my house?"
"That's it?"
"Uh- yeah?"
"I thought you didn't want anyone to meet your mom until you were dating them."
"I was talking about you specifically," he shrugged. "Besides, who said she'll be home."
"It sounds like you're trying to do something to me."
'Oh, I'm tryna do a lot of things to you...' he released a small chuckle at the thought.
Saiki's mouth went agape, slightly, from hearing the internal notion. His cheeks even tinted pink.
"No-"
"Yeah!? You said yeah? Okay, Saturday, around noon sound okay? Alright, I'll see you then, bye!" Asher waved to him as he rushed away from the psychic.
'So stupid...'
Timeskip ..
Asher spent the next two weeks preparing for Saiki's arrival. He would take the time to try and "subtly" figure out what his likes and dislikes were, what he was comfortable or uncomfortable with, and all that jazz.
He also made sure his mother would be there, at least later in the day. He really did want to introduce Saiki to his mom. He knew she would like him.

Though, she was going all out for it...
She had bought Asher a nice outfit for Saturday, and went shopping beforehand so she could cook when she got home from work.
The boy tried to talk her out of it, but she was too deep into the idea.
'As long as it isn't complex, it shouldn't kill us.'
Asher spent most of his Saturday morning cleaning. As soon as his mom was out the door, he was tidying the first and second floor, despite the fact he wouldn't be going into most of the rooms.
And what was weird was, he such a lazyass! He would never do this for anyone, ever. Not even the fucking president.
But, he felt an urging voice deep down, telling him he had to have everything presentable for Saiki.
So, he cleaned. Then, he went up to his room to make himself presentable.
Showering, skin care, hair care-- all of that. He even did a few sprays of the cologne he never used.
After, he changed into his new clothes. A black and white stripped shirt with a tank top underneath, and some black pants. He even put a chain and bracelet on, just to top it off.
"Why..?" he questioned as he stared at himself in the mirror. "Why does it feel like I'm preparing for a date? Or maybe a day of sex, since I cleaned my house.. it's not that important. We're just fuckin' hanging out."
The doorbell rang.
"AHH, HOLY SHIT HE'S FUCKING HERE, I DON'T KNOW IF I'M READY--"
He ran out of his bathroom and down the stairs, almost going tumble down the last few.
'Why is he making such a ruckus..?'
The door flew open. "You're here..!"
"Did you think I wouldn't come..?"
"Well, you didn't necessarily say yes before..."
"So you knew?"
"Anyways, come in!" he held the door open for the male standing outside, watching as he (Saiki) rolled his eyes and walked in.
'He rolls his eyes almost as much as I do..' he shut the door behind them.
'I do not.'
Saiki looked around the house. 'Much more cleaner than I thought it would be, honestly.'
"So, Saiki. Do you play games?"
The pink haired boy raised an eyebrow. "What kind of games?"
Asher led him to the living room.
"Well, we don't have too many board games, but I've got a ton of games left over from my dad." he pulled open the cabinet under the tv, showing the plethora of cases that held CDs, as well as a console and controllers.
'Not too bad...'
"Which have you played?"
"Oh-" he scanned through the games. "I don't really play games by myself, so not a lot... only a few of the Mario games, but we never played past the first part."
Saiki sighed, pushing up his glasses as he sat down on the couch. "Then we have a lot of work to do. Put a game in and give me a controller."
Asher grinned and did as he was told. He was excited. Doing anything with Saiki was exciting.
'It really isn't.'
The two of them spent most of their time on the game, occasionally getting up for small breaks. Saiki would be yelling at Asher to do something, while Asher would yell at Saiki for doing something he (Saiki) didn't actually do.
Overall, it was fun. Even if Saiki almost broke the controller a few times. It was actually really hard for Saiki to not end up exploding the house, but it's fine.

They had gotten finished with the second game as the front door opened.
"I'm home, Ash!"
Said male looked over to Saiki. "My mom's here- oops. Anyways, you can just stay there if you want, I'm gonna greet my mom."
The brunette placed the controller on the couch as he walked out of the room and to the kitchen, where his mother now was. "Mom! You got here an hour early!"
"Of course I did! It's a special day, you brought that little friend of yours into our house! I've gotta make dinner, and I bought some sweets from that bakery down the road."
He groaned. "For the last time, I think you should just relax and I'll make the food--"
"No way. Get out of the damn kitchen, Asher."
'So bipolar.'
"Fine, fine..." he sighed while making his way out.
"Saiki," he peeked his head into the living room. Saiki turned to Asher. "Let's go up to my room. Don't worry about the game."
Saiki nodded and placed his controller down as well, following Asher upstairs to his room.
"At least all of the boxes are gone." Saiki noted as he stepped foot into the bedroom.
"Yeah. It's kinda plain, but whatever." he dropped down onto the mattress, Saiki doing the same but more elegantly. "So, tell me about yourself."
"... What?"
"Sorry, that was a little weird--"
"Very weird."
"Shut the hell up," Asher rolled his eyes. "I just want to get to know you better... have you dated anyone before?"
"That's a weird question."
"Well, I'm curious!"
"Why?"
"Uhm... why not?"
Saiki shrugged. "Well, no. I haven't."
"Seriously!? Why not?"
"I haven't been interested in anyone. Everyone is annoying..."
"C'mon, don't be such a drama queen. There's gotta be someone that's caught your eye. Maybe that Teruhashi girl? Or, Yumehara? Or maybe a guy-?"
The male in question shook his head. "Never. Those two both so annoying, and all the guys I know are irritatingly stupid... I rather just be alone."
Asher frowned. "Well.. you shouldn't really make that decision until you've tried to love someone."
"No, I think I'm fine with my choice."
"You might regret it."
"I won't."
The brunette clicked his tongue. "You're very frustrating sometimes, y'know?"
They went silent for a few seconds.
'He's really secretive... but I'm so curious.'
'Please, no more prying.'
"Saiki, what's your type?"
"What do you mean?"
"Like, what are you interested in? People-wise, I guess."
He straight-faced Asher. "Why?"
"Are you gonna keep asking me that stupid question? I wanna know because I'm curious about you." Asher groaned.
"Well, I don't think you'd gain anything from knowing."
"I do! I get to know more about you, so it's a win for me."
Saiki facepalmed. "I don't have a 'type'. I've never even took anything like that into consideration, because I don't care for it."
Asher hummed. "Well..." he turned his body fully towards Saiki, slowly moving to approach him across the bed. "What if something happens that makes you care? Will you act on those feelings? Those- urges?"
Saiki leaned back as Asher got closer, his eyes widening on their own. "What are you doing?"
'What's going on? Why is he so close? I can't even focus- this is bad. Should I teleport away? No, it's too risky? And I can't just hit him. He's so close.'
"Acting on my urges."
Their noses brushed together, the two of them centimeters apart. They could feel each other's breath caressing their skin. Asher had no clue what he was doing. This was probably a really bad idea, honestly. But he didn't care. He was tired of acting like a lost bitch.
"Can.. I kiss you?"
Saiki didn't answer. His eyes were open, but he couldn't see anything. He was so confused- so dazed. Why was his hard pounding so fast? It felt like it was going explode. And why was his body so warm? Was he losing control of his pyrokinesis?
Asher backed away when he didn't receive an answer, placing a hand over his mouth. He felt sick. That was so embarrassing...
Again, there was silence. Neither of them knew what to say, nor what to do. Saiki didn't even have the will to stand from the bed if he wanted to.
So the two sat there, and thought out their feelings. Not looking at each other, not talking to each other. Just silence.
"Kiddos, dinner's finished!" Asher's mother came walking into the room, a wide grin on her face. But it quickly disappeared.
She was shocked to see how Saiki looked, but she was even more shocked to feel the tense aura in the room. She wasn't sure if she should question it or not.
"Oh-" Asher looked up from the wall he had been staring at. "Alright, mom. Give us a minute."
"Mhm..." she looked between the two before shutting the door again.
"Saiki..." he slowly looked at the pinkette once more. It looked to be he had calmed down now. His breathing was back to normal, and his eyes weren't as wide as before. "I'm really sorry. I probably made you uncomfortable. You don't have to stay any longer than you have, I can just take you home."
'... Maybe I should go home. His mom did make food, and bring sweets... but I don't think I'm in the mood today.'
Saiki slowly nodded his head, carefully standing from the low bed. "I'll be off. I can get home myself."
Asher nodded. He was swift to follow Saiki out to the front door, ignoring his mother's looks. "Okay. I'll see you in class Monday, then."
All Saiki did was nod before he was out the door. Asher sighed, shutting him out and walking over to the plated table.
"Why did he leave? What happened between you two? What did you do?"
"Mom.." Asher stared down to the plate in front of him. "I'm really not in the mood."
"Well, I'm worried! You two looked like you had gotten into a fight, and he left without even eating! What happened--"
"MOM!" Asher slammed his hands onto the table. "CAN YOU NOT? Holy fuck..." He scoot himself away from the table, taking his plate and heading up to his room.
"Asher, get your ass back down here!!"
He ignored her shouts and slammed his door behind him. He placed his food onto the dresser and laid down onto the bed.
'He's never gonna talk to me again. Why did I do that? I'm so fucking stupid, I feel so fucking stupid...'
His eyes were squished shut as he laid in bed. He tried pushing out all of the negative thoughts that flowed into his mind, but it felt impossible. He felt horrible.
Eventually, his body had to give in to sleep, with the previous events still fresh in his brain.

Until You Do It Right
The world ended on December thirty-first of the year two thousand and twenty, precisely at the stroke of midnight. The human race began to be systematically exterminated by the spawn of the System. We were given a chance to defeat them, to take back our place at the top of the food chain. We failed. The first to perish were those who bravely rebelled. The soldiers. The defenders. One by one, they fell. In their final moments, they begged for aid. Nobody replied. The next to succumb were those who feebly cowered. The deniers. The leeches. Together, they fell. In their final moments, they cried out into the darkness. Countless voices replied in kind. The last to decline were those who shamelessly ran. The deserters. The cowardly. Alone, they fell. In their final moments, they whimpered quietly. There was nobody left to answer. The final human to die was a survivor. A runner. As he died, he begged for salvation. His prayers were answered. He was offered a chance to save himself, along with all of humanity, and he took it. This is his story. “I sat in the dark and thought: There’s no big apocalypse. Just an endless procession of little ones.”― Neil Gaiman, Signal to Noise. I am absolutely new to writing and will take any and all constructive criticism. Please give feedback, it is greatly appreciated. I will update the tags as they change, and I hope that you enjoy this little story I'm writing! Quick warning: Seamus is intentionally a flawed character, and this story is going to explore those flaws and perhaps even change a few of them. I do not agree with all of his actions, but it is what it is.
