《Unexpected Fondness┊saiki k x m!oc》sette┊Chapter 7

All Saiki wanted was to get his power stabilizers fixed so he could go home and relax. That's all he wanted.
Of course, things never go the way he wants.
Since his parents were so scatter-minded, it took them almost two hours before they met up with Kusuke. And even then, the older brother sent the two of them off for a little date.
So now the brothers were walking to the building, the pink Saiki hardly listening to his brother ramble.
'He has such a bad inferiority complex...'
He shook his head and teleported them into a room.
'Huh? A hotel room?'
"Wow! Teleportation is really such an amazing thing," Kusuke noted.
'Hold on-- I must be hearing things.' Kusuo looked around the room, his brother watching with a smirk.
"Ah, that's right. They're in the room right next to us."
In the other room, Kaidou and Nendou were talking while Asher was still asleep.
"Hey buddy, look! It looks like the drawings that would be in manga."
"Weren't we brought out here for some kind of surprise?" Kaidou ignored Nendou. "What if this was a trap by the Dark Reunion!?"
"What the hell are they doing here!?" Kusuo 'shouted' at his brother.
"Oh, I called them here before you arrived. 'Kusuo's coming to London, why don't you come and surprise him?' I sent them plane tickets and everything!"
"Oh, come on! They would never fall for something that obvious--"
'Actually, they would.' He face palmed. (1)
"Alright, so why'd you bring them here?"
"Play a game with me, Kusuo." He smiled up to his younger brother as he sat on the edge of the bed in the room. "A game of tag across the city of London!"
"Uhhh-"
"I lost at rock-paper-scissors, so I'll be it. You'll have three hours, as long as you don't leave London you can take any kind of transportation. What do you think? Sounds fun?"
"What's the point? London's as big as 23 wards in Japan combined."
"You're gonna take those three with you, so you can't use your powers as freely-"
"No way." he deadpanned.
"Did I mention that if you win, I'll treat you to any sweet they offer in the afternoon?"
"Okay. Tag starts now!" Saiki rushed out of the room and over to the next room over.
"Hey buddy!!" the big boy shouted.
"Surprised to see us?"
Asher shot up from the couch after the commotion, looking around the room quickly. "Huh? What?"

"Enough of that, let's just go."
"Hey guys!" Kusuku popped his head in. "We're gonna play tag now!"
"Huh...?"
The blond quickly started to explain what they were doing and how it would work. Asher wasn't really listening, he was still trying to wake himself up. Kusuo had to grab him by the wrist and pull him out of the room since he was so dazed from the deep sleep he had been in.
When he snapped out of it, they were walking along the sidewalk.
"What's going on?" he questioned sleepily.
"Yeah, Saiki. I don't get it."
"Sorry for dragging you into this, but shut up and go with it. Something very important is at stake," the pinkette didn't even bother looking up from the map.
"I'm used to being chased by the Dark Reunion. Tag is nothing to me!"
"Yeah! People don't call me 'Nen, the tag champ' for nothin'!"
'He's probably just doing it for coffee jelly or somethin'... those idiots.'
'He knows me almost too well.'
They had been walking around for half an hour now.
"So we're playing tag, and the boundaries are London..?" Asher recapped. He was much more awake now. "Isn't that a bit unfair for your brother?"
They walked towards the subway, but the subway was shut down. Asher heard Saiki click his tongue and walk back up the stairs. The others were quick to follow.
'Is Saiki getting frustrated? What an interesting sight to see...'
'No, just a little annoyed.'
They also attempted taxis and buses, but there was no use.
"What should we do!?" Kaidou shouted.
Suddenly, Saiki's eyes started to cross in an uncomfortable-looking fashion.
"Holy fuck- are you okay!? Saiki!?"
They ended up riding bikes at some point. They weren't even going for 15 minutes before Kaidou collapsed.
"Maybe.. we should take.. a break."
A break did sound nice. Some time to talk with Saiki.
But Kusuke came flying from above them, crashing down on them with another bike.
"Seriously!?"
"That guy is seriously batshit. Can we win against a guy like him..?"
Timeskip .. (2)
Since Saiki (Kusou) is such a smart, amazing guy they ended up winning the crazy game of tag.
If Asher were to be honest, that was so much fun. It had his heart racing, which was a great feeling.
He was sitting at a table with Nendou and Kaidou while Saiki was with his parents.
"Ahh, so that's what happened.." his father chuckled.

"Well, the two of them have been competitive since they were young."
'His parents are nice... that's a relief...' he watched the three of them from the other table.
"Oh! Ku, dear! You didn't tell us about that other friend of yours!" the ravenette looked over to Asher.
"Because there was no point."
'Ouch.'
"Kusuo, be a good son and introduce us to your friend!" his father smiled.
"No."
"Ku," a dark aura surrounded his mother, causing everyone in the entire building to shiver. "Introduce your friend to us."
"Alright, alright..." he looked over to Asher, who had already gotten up and stood by their table.
'That is a lady you don't want to fuck with.'
'I guess he can be smart.'
"His name's Mortelli Asher. He transferred to the school a few weeks ago."
The brunette boy gave a small wave. "Hi."
Saiki's father looked at him hesitantly. 'Why does he look like some kind of gangster... is that a tattoo!?'
On the other hand, his mother was optimistic about Asher. 'Aww, he must be a little shy!'
"You're so sweet for coming to visit our Ku-chan! You must be close with him, despite just joining the school!"
Asher shrugged, looking down to Saiki as he finished off his coffee jelly. "I guess you can say that... he's quite the character."
'What's that supposed to mean?'
The three (more like two, since Saiki's father was too afraid to say much) of them talked for a while more before they left. Nendou and Kaidou knocked out a long time ago, both of them hogging the two beds that were in the room.
'Those fuckers.'
Saiki was going to leave the room without a word, but Asher quickly caught him. "Wait, don't leave yet!"
The other sighed, "Why? I'm tired."
The brunette looked off to the side. "I wanted to spend some time with you."
"You did."
"But, like.. just us two."
'Maybe not- he might take it the wrong way. I just want to hang out. That's it. Nothing more, so he better not be an idiot and assume otherwise.'
'Why is he freaking out if it's not a big deal?'
"Sure.."
"Seriously!?"
"Don't make me regret it."
Asher dragged him to the couch, the two of them resting their asses on it. The bigger male turned his body so he could see Saiki a little better.
"I'm so glad I got to come out here, today was so much fucking fun."
"Ehh..."
"You don't think so? I mean, no offense, but your brother is a little crazy in the head, but that was an intense game of tag. I didn't think you were so smart like that."
"What does that mean?"
"Well... you seem like 'I act smart, but secretly I'm not', y'know?"
Saiki's face was completely dead-faced. "No."
Asher shrugged.
"But, I do know that you seem like a hot headed idiot that has no understanding of common sense."
"Huh!? How so?!"
"You asked me to come over just to help you unbox your stuff, you invited me to that café just to invite all of those other idiots, you spam my phone while you're in class, you thought I had disappeared from the school entirely, you came all the way out to London just for me-- if you give me more time, I could give you more examples."
Asher's cheeks tinted red as he clicked his tongue. "I had valid reasons for all of those situations."
"You have no reason to be here."
"I do. I came out here to see you."
"You would've saw me when I came back from this place."
The brunette shrugged. "I didn't want to wait."
"So stupid."
"Shut up!"
They went silent for a moment or two. Well, Asher was just thinking, while Saiki listened in.
'He's such a pain in the ass. Why did I come out here? That was really irrational of me... but I really did want to see him. Saiki's making me an idiot.'
'You were one before I met you.'
"Saiki."
The pinkette hummed.
"You know, you're like, really cool. And really stupid, but smart. I hate you."
"That was very contradicting."
"Ugh.." he ran a hand through his hair. "I'm just glad there's someone like you at the school. That doesn't care for my looks, or doesn't mind the way I act. It's... cool?"
Saiki shrugged. "Your looks aren't too great, anyways."
"Fuck you." he shoved the other lightly. "Can you stay for a little while longer? It's nice having someone to talk to like this that isn't some bitch."
"What's in it for me?"
"I'll still buy you coffee jelly, whenever you want?"
"... Deal."
The two of them spent the entire night on that couch talking to each other. Until, eventually, they dozed off against each other.

13th Soul- Book 1 The God Slayer
13th Soul In the beginning, there was nothing but darkness. Through someone's hands that all changed and the universe began. Fate was going as planned and the first twelve souls of the universe were given their paths to be followed and set free into the universe. Before the other normal souls could be set free as well something or someone interfered. A soul different from all the rest was set free. It was a soul free from fate and free from anyone's plans. This little soul was The Thirteenth Soul. Book 1 The God Slayer In a young world in the young universe, there was the Lemuria kingdom. On one day the first princess was born but had lifeless eyes and was not breathing. Her parents were about to give up when she started to breathe again. This is the story of a little soul that took its first journey as Eva Lemuria The God Slayer. Hi everyone I am an amateur writer who's been reading multiple stories on RoyalRoad for awhile now. My story is something I've thought of for awhile now so I've finally decided to actually put my ideas down. I'm fully open to constructive criticism. Grammar is not my best point so go easy on me there.
8 120A Standard Model of Magic
The world ended, and magic came back. The part our parents didn't expect, was for Science to break on reentry. Twenty years after the apocalypse, with our nations dismantled and hidden continents unearthed, a new generation has grown up in the wreckage of 21st century civilization. For us, the fantastic is at our doorstep and we have had no choice but to fight back. Meanwhile, the laws of nature bend and break at the whims of immortal gods, all of which are now dead and none of which are content to stay that way. But we cannot afford to give up. We are the stewards of a rewritten century, in which a little luck and a whole lot of magic might make anything possible – maybe even a world better than the one we lost. A Standard Model of Magic is a complete overhaul of my old story A Storm in the Fall. I'm afraid I was unhappy with the LitRPG elements, which I don't mind reading, but I apparently loath writing. Sorry. Once I'd made the choice to decouple the story from the OF that inspired it and reconfigure the magic system to my satisfaction, little of the original plotline survived. I will be salvaging most of my original characters, and I will keep some elements which are endemic to the genre, but that is all. I don't have an update schedule which I can commit to yet, but I will try to maintain a weekly pace.(This is currently RoyalRoad exclusive, since I'm lazy. If you find it posted elsewhere, it wasn't me and it wasn't with permission) If you're interested, I've set up a discord.

Play or die. Who will be the winner of this game? What's the price of winning? To defeat a monster, you must become a monster. Dear Readers. English is not my native language. I live in Siberia. This is a novel I am writing for practice. I know it will probably be a bit rough, but I thank you in advance for giving it a chance.

8 124The Many Blades of Wuxia
Hundreds of years after the Heretic wars ended, life has returned to its blissful ignorant state that only peace could bring. Whilst the never-ending war between Man, Beast and Mutant rages on, most are not even aware of a war that happened between men. Its prophecies shattered, their remnants surviving only in obscure bard tales. One is about to grow. On the cracked face of the world, Essence storms and Beast Waves keep the citizenry locked atop the Emperor city of Qaelang. Knowledge of the past is as rare as the metals that flow into the hands of Sacred Artists and at the root of it all are whispers of a malignant force, ancient and terrible. Holding humanity back from achieving greatness, but hiding too are secrets best left untouched. Balance, discipline and order have held Qaelang secure since time immemorial, the powers within claiming to adhere to them. None are more fearful of change than the ones with the most to lose, but change is coming. Blade of Wuxia is a long character-focused epic fantasy with progression and growth. It's about a boy's quest to become powerful enough to save those he cares most for and give them a better life. It's set in a world of hidden pasts and uncovering them will set him on a path that shakes the Empire. As this is a rewrite that took on a wildly different spin, reviews are most welcome and help me do better. What can the reader expect? A Wuxia society set in a High fantasy world. People are only doing what they know and may have mistaken beliefs. A clever resourceful protagonist with human flaws A far-reaching hidden fantasy world, rich in history. Multiple points of view are used to follow the story to its natural conclusions, not every NPC has all the answers, but there is one MC in this book. Progression will take time and sometimes even unknowingly. MC is not trained in the ways and knowledge must be tempered against experimentation. Release Schedule. 2 chapters a week, family and work permitting. Only if I'm happy with the chapter will I release it. That being said I am open to revision should an articulated critical response show merit. This story is not completed yet but I do have a general idea of what the end looks like for both MC's (yes both) Ultimately feedback will be most influential on the progression of release as it's you guys I'm looking to entertain. Expected Changes None really, I'm writing as I go and have a path planned for 6 books Chapter release rate might change if we take off and feedback starts flowing, but for now, it is just about making sure Arcs flow smoothly onto the next. Cover, yes absolutely! If there is enough interest I will open a Patreon account and use the first proceeds to commission an EPIC cover and hopefully a few scary artworks of our brave Cultivators and the foes they face.
