'Goddamn, why does this feel like heaven.. am I finally dead..?'
He felt around the softness that surrounded him, slowly peaking his eyes open. It was hard to stop himself from rolling his eyes when he realized he wasn't dead.
'Just a better bed.. and sheets. If I die, I want it to be right here.'
He stayed in the comfort of his bed, relishing in the cozy blankets. Slowly lulling himself to sleep with the warmth the gave him...
"ASHER!! GET UP, YOU'LL BE LATE!"
'I love that woman, but holy fuck.'
With a groan, he sat up from his bed. He stretched his limbs and back, receiving satisfying pops on return before he turned to walk into his bathroom.
There were still boxes littering his room and bathroom, seeing he was way too lazy to do it himself. He'll just take everything out slowly as needed.
The brunette stomped down the stairs after finishing in the bathroom, holding the green blazer out in front of him.
"What is this shit..? Why is it so ugly..?" he complained to himself. In the end, he just tied the piece of cloth around his waist.
"Good, good, you're up. I thought I had to get you myself.." his mother hummed.
Despite the mental stress she had, and still is, going through, she was a beautiful sight.
Short, blonde hair and shiny, blue eyes. Her skin was pale, but it just added to her beauty.

He wasn't ashamed to admit he had good looking parents. From what he remembers and the pictures he saw, his dad wasn't too bad either.
Anyways, now's not the time to gawk over his parent's looks.
"Yeah yeah, I was gonna get up with you yellin' at me or not.." he murmured, pulling out a chair from the dining table and seating himself in front of a plate. "Uh- why's there so much?"
"Because!" she shouted with a grin, sliding a glass of water over to him before setting herself down across from him. "It's your first day going to school in Japan! I want your mind and body to be prepared. You've been practicing your Japanese like I told you to, right?"
He nodded his head, switching to Japanese. "I remember most of it, so I should be fine. But I'm not gonna use that '-senpai' or '-chan' shit. That's not gonna go."
"What'd I tell you about cursing?" he rolled his eyes from her nagging, which got him a kick to his leg. "They take respect to a whole 'nother level here. So either you go along with it, or you'll have trouble getting around here."
Asher clicked his tongue, staying silent as he ate the food placed before him.
His mother watched him eat for a moment. "The food good?"
He just smiled in response, as if it were to be taken as a 'yes'.
It was like hell thrown on a plate. Like he was eating straight out of a garbage bin. Like everything they had in the fridge had been sitting in there for five fucking years.
Of course, he couldn't tell her that. She was trying her best.
He quickly scarfed down the food, ignoring how bad his body want to reject it, before standing and walking to the door. "I'm going now. Don't want the teachers on my ass."

"M'kay.. keep the cursing to a minimum at school, please!"
"Yeah, right."
He was relieved he didn't live too far away from the school. He didn't want his mother to drive him to school, seeing she had her own things to worry about. That, and he liked taking in the environment around him as he went.
He may not seem like it, but he was a big outdoor person. He enjoyed environmental things like plants and bugs. He just didn't tell many about his adoration for it.
Anyways, he was there in about 15 minutes. There were many girls and boys loading into the large building. Asher didn't want to attract attention to himself, so he kept his head low as he roamed the halls.
'It was 2-2, right? No- 2-1. It's 2-1. Fuck, I think I passed it-'
Yeah, he kinda got lost. But, he was quick to find his way back to the right class!
Asher wasn't worried about introductions- actually, he didn't even know that was a thing they do in Japan. So, he just walked right into the classroom, slowly wandering around to find his seat.
"Ah, Morteli. Come up to the front." he turned when he heard his name, seeing, who he assumed to be, his teacher standing in the front of the class.
Not wanting to cause trouble, he obliged and stood beside the older person and waited until class started.
"Alright, class. We have.. another transfer student. Please introduce yourself."
'So unnecessary...'
'I agree.'
"I'm Asher Morteli." he kept it short. No need to tell his lifestory to his class.
"Uh..." the teacher rubbed the back of their head.
"Oh, shit- I'm.. uh, Morteli Asher? Yeah, Asher's cool, though."
"Of course, Morteli-san. Go ahead and take a seat.. next to Teruhashi-san."
'Who..? Oh. God, why is she so bright..?'
Asher had to squint as he saw the female raise her hand. He nodded in response and moved to sit in the desk besides her, noticing the glares he got in return from the boys in the class.
"Hi there! I'm Teruhashi Kokomi!" she turned to introduce herself.
The brunette rolled his eyes. "Yeah, I know."
'WHAT!? WHY DIDN'T HE GASP? DID HE ROLL HIS EYES!?'
'Huh. Interesting. Never thought there would be a day where someone didn't fall for her- besides me, of course.'
Somehow he got through the day without bashing someone's skull in. From the looks of the class, they all look so fucking annoying.
Besides the pink haired dude, and Aren. The pink guy looks like he's done with living, and Aren is a cool dude.
Speaking of him, Asher was with him now. Somehow, the two of them clicked it off as soon as they spoke to each other. They had common interests and their personalities matched well. Asher never would've thought he would be so close to someone so soon.
Anyways, they were just casual strolling down the small alley's nearby, both of them just trying to make their way home.
Until two random guys come strolling near them. It would've been all dandy if they all walked past each other and had a good day- but no. One of them leaned a bit too close and his shoulder crashed into Aren's.
"Hey- show some respect, kid!" One of them shouted. "A simple 'sorry' don't cut it when you bump into one of us."
"Yeah," the other chimed in. "I think you may've broke my arm. That's, like, a million yen to fix!"
"Do you really take us for idiots?" Asher questioned, holding back his urge of rolling his eyes. "There's no way you could've broken your arm that easily. Unless you've got bones of glass. Is that it? Just a weak little bitch who's all bark and no bite?"
"Huh? Did ya' hear him? Just give him a million yen!!"
"The fuck-"
"I've got it.." Aren huffed, quick to latch his hand onto one of their necks to stop their nonsense.
"Agh! Stop, we're sorry!! Please forgive us!"
"Yeah, please let go of his throat-! You're gonna kill him!"
Asher clicked his tongue, punching the free one across the face while Aren did the same.
The brunette paused, turning around to check his surroundings.
'Why does it feel like someone else was here? ..Eh-'
He shrugged it off, turning back and jogging back to the purple haired male's side.
'Oh, man..'
The next day, Asher and Aren walked into class together. Surprisingly, the two lived rather close together so they decided to get to class with one another.
"... do you think something's up with Koboyasu?" the two of them heard as they walked in. It came from the scrawny blue haired boy. If he remember correctly, it was.. Kaidou, Nendou, and Saiki? Why was he just standing in the background like that?
'That's none of your concern.'
"Huh? What about me?" he questioned, making the other shriek.
"AHH! N-nothing-!"
'Hah.. kinda cute.'
'Not exactly what I'd call it.'
"Hey! 'Sup, new guy? 'Sup, other new guy?"
The brunette just shrugged in response.
"What're you guys doin'? I want in on it.." he grinned, accidentally looking menacingly. The boy beside him elbowed him, Aren turning to him and looking at him in question for a moment.
'Has he always been this scary..!?' the blue boy questioned.
"It's.. nothing important- sir."
'Kinda hot.'
'Gross.'
"'Sir'? What's with the formal talk, dude?" The speckled boy placed a hand on the former's shoulder, which made him squeal. "You're acting kinda weird... Did something happen? Did you see something that you shouldn't have??"
Asher had to hold in his laughter as Kaidou jumped away.
"What's wrong, stupid? Ya scared?" Nendou questioned.
"I think that's exactly it," Asher mused.
"No! You're the stupid one! I just got a little dizzy, that's all!"
Nendo leaned his arms on Asher and Aren's shoulders. "Hey. He's a weirdo, ain't he?"
"Yup. I guess.."
"Mhm."
"Get off him, Nendou!" Kaidou shouted.
"What're you going on about? All I hear is crazy talk.." and the worst thing that could've possibly happened happened.
That idiot sneezed on Aren.
It was gross and stupid, but Asher couldn't hold back the snort he had been holding in for a while.
'That's not funny, it's gross.'
"Ooo. That was a wet one," was all Nendou said.
"Ahh! Nendou.. Are you okay, Koboyasu?"
The boy nodded, using his sleeve to wipe off the wetness. "Yeah, I'm alright. It's fine, no big deal."
But Kaidou wasn't having it. "Nendou, apologize to him!"
"Oh god, my nose is itching- oh, you got some boogers on you." He used the same tissue he used to blow his nose to wipe Aren's face.
Now Asher was just snarling in disgust. 'How stupid can one person be..?'
'Exactly my thoughts.'
"That's full of snot too!"
"Really, I'm fine- it's just a sneeze."
'After all that, he's not mad..?' Kaidou questioned mentally. 'Can someone so level-headed really be a juvenile delinquent..?'
"I said I'm fine. We take showers after PE, anyway.." Aren grit his teeth, clearly holding back his annoyance.
'Wow. Would've busted some noses already, if I were him.'
'He's barely holding it in.'
'I guess I was wrong about him.. Koboyasu is so shy about changing his clothes-'
In the back of the room, Koboyasu was seemingly try to be quick and discreet with changing his clothes.
On the other hand, Asher immediately stripped down when he walked in the locker room. He had nothing to be ashamed of, so what's the point?
He could practically feel the stares, but whatever. Just proves that he's a handsome dude.
'Maybe that wasn't even them who beat up those guys before.. yeah, I was mistaken.' Kaidou laughed to himself as he dressed into his PE attire.
"Haha! Dude, why do you change like a girl!?" Nendou teased as he snatched Aren's shirt.
"Hey, give that back!"
Kaidou and Asher turned their attention to them, seeing Aren's ripped abs.
'Holy fucking shit, why the fuck does his muscles look so tough? It's weirdly hot.'
"HE'S TOTALLY RIPPED FROM THE NECK DOWN!! AND- AND WHY IS ASHER SO ATTRACTIVE!?"
They exited the room, walking out to the field.
'Maybe he likes to lift weights.. many non-delinquents like to do that.' Kaidou thought, curled into a ball near the fence/walls.
Aren and Asher grabbed themselves bats, the two of them playfully swinging it around. Asher playfully swung it to Aren's head, the former dodging it out of reflex.
'Why're they swinging it like that!? Also, he looked at the bat like it was an old friend-! They're probably thinking 'I never thought I would use you for an actual baseball game'.'
"Koboyasu, you're up next!"
Asher moved to the sidelines as Aren stood at home base.
'Oh crap, looks like he really is a deliquent. Even the way he squats is vaguely thug-ish!'
The pitcher sucked at throwing a ball properly because the ball went flying to the boy's arm.
"Koboyasu, are you okay!?" The coach shouted.
'If Koboyasu is actually a deliquent, that pitcher's dead!!'
"Hey, watch where you're throwing!" some random guy shouted.
"Yeah, learn how to fuckin' pitch properly, dipshit!" We can all guess who said that. "You fight with my bud, you fight me as well!"
"There's not gonna be a fight, fellas.." the almost-injured boy spoke, a hand up to his face. "That's just baseball. Now, where were we- no outs, runner on first?"
'Now he sounds like a former delinquent whose life was changed by baseball!!'
Suddenly, it started raining, causing everyone to run inside. Well, Koboyasu and Asher weren't running.
Asher liked the rain, so why run? He walked alongside Aren.
"Damn, we could've won that game.." the purple boy murmured, almost walking into a box with a puppy in it.
'How the hell did this get into the fucking school? And what idiot would lay it so out in the open?'
"Are you a loner, too..?" Koboyasu asked the puppy.
Asher laughed. "Dude, that sounded so fucking stupid-"
'WHY IS THERE SUDDENLY AN ABANDONDED PUPPY AFTER IT STARTED RAINING!?'
Kaidou was walking out of the building, looking like a child who just witnessed a murder scene.
'I'm certain of it now! They're both definitely delinquents! All this time they've been acting like normal kids while they had a powerful dark side..!'
'Isn't that how you imagine your own life..?'
'I just have to keep my distance from him for now. More for his good than mine. I mean, if he messed with me I could go full Jet-Black Wings and turn him into ashes,' he chuckled to himself.
'Yeah, I'd like to see that..'
"Oh- hey, Saiki! Wanna go grab--" he started speaking when he noticed the pink haired male, turning a corner with him.
"Afternoon, fellas," random #1 spoke.
"There's a new rule! You gotta pay a toll if you wanna walk through here," random #2 said.
Kaidou tried slowly backing away, but he was quickly grabbed by one of the randoms.
"And we can't have you not paying your toll either," two of them stood by Saiki as the other held onto Kaidou.
'What!? Oh no.. me and Saiki are being shaken down for money..!'
"If you wanna get through, pay up!" The four randoms back them into a wall.
"Whatever's in your pockets!"
Kaidou went off into his little daydream of being strong and protecting the oh-so weak Saiki.
"Hey! Hey, are you listening!?" random #2 shouted in Kaidou's face as he gripped onto his collar, slowly bringing him out of his little fantasy.
'Time to come back to Earth, Shun.'
"Huh? What's that? Didn't I take all of you guys down..?" he questioned.
"What? Stop screwing around with us, loser," the random grew more annoyed.
'Wait, all of that before was in my fantasy!?' He was pushed back against the wall.
"You think you're better than us!?"
'Maybe I'll be able to take this weaklings down with my normal powers!'
"Last chance, buddy." one of the randoms began pulling out a small pole/baton.
'What!? You're gonna hit me with that!? Tch! If Saiki wasn't here, I would hand everything over to them!'
'You would?'
'But I can't look weak in front of Saiki! Let's show him my cool side!'
'You don't have one-'
"I don't have my wallet-" the random slammed the pole against the wall, strong enough the make it crackle on contact.
"Ooh, it was in my back pocket all along-!" he pulled his wallet out.
'You're exhausting...'
Then they moved to start punking Saiki. Of course, Saiki cursed them before holding his wallet out to the random in front of him.
'Ha. I cursed you so that in 3 months, blood will leak out of all of your pores.'
Though, Kaidou intervened and shoved the guy aside. "Saiki, run!"
And so he did. The two of them ran away from them, though the blue haired boy lost stamina fast and was caught by the group. Saiki hadn't really planned on stopping, but he felt a bit bad so he slowed down.
That, and-
"Hey! What's going on here?" Aren and Asher approached, Aren genuinely curious about what they were up to. Asher was just accompanying him.
"Huh.. who would've thought we would run into a shakedown," Asher noted, a small smirk on his face as he pocketed his hands.
"Ah, Koboyasu! Asher-san!"
'Why did he use that stupid honorific for me only-?'
'Who knows.'
'Great, they're here! He's a lot stronger than he looks. I bet at least one of them can save me.'
"Oh, hey! Are you friends with these losers?" one of the randoms questioned.
"You guys- don't just stand there, run!" Kaidou shouted, even though he didn't mean it. At all.
"Wha-"
"Get outta here! Now!"
'I can't ask them for help..! I can't make them help after I spent the last day trying to avoid them..'
"Run with Saiki while you can! These guys aren't a big deal, I can handle them!"
One of the randoms approached the two. "Woahh, can't just let you go- kegh!"
Aren backhand punched the guy who approached them.
"What a load of idiots. I can't stand guys like you.." Asher rolled his eyes, dropping his bag to the ground like Aren.
The two of them fought off the randoms. It was really easy, it only took a hit or two before they were on the ground. Koboyasu went on about how he used to be a delinquent and how he would protect his friends.
"Koboyasu.. you save me.." he spoke dramatically as tears leaked through his eyes.
"And I'm chopped liver," Asher spoke sarcastically.
'Yeah, he did do something too, Kaidou.'
"You knew about me..?" Aren questioned as they walked away from the crime scene.
"Of course I did. Nobody can hide from my divine magic eye," Kaidou laughed.
"Wow, I thought I blended in pretty well as a normal kid.." Aren sighed.
'Even though he knew my past, he still told me to run..'
"I don't care about your past," the boy practically read his mind. "All I care about is the present and the future!"
"Right!" He latched his hand onto Kaidou, making him groan in pain.
'Is he really that weak..?'
'It's a little pathetic.'
"A-anyways," Kaidou recovered, ignoring the agonizing throbbing in his hand. "What about you, Asher? Are you some gangster too?"
"The fuck!?" The brunette shouted in anger. "Do I look like a gangster to ya!?"
'Actually, you remind me more of a gangster than Koboyasu.'
The small boy squealed. "I-I mean- just a little.. I mean, you're super strong, and you come off really mean and violent- I mean--!"
"Say another word and I won't be able to control my fist, Kaidou," Asher glared at him, immediately shutting him up.
'So violent.'
"There's no way I'm a gangster. I mean, I did get into a lot of fights before, and I do have a quick temper, and I did basically have a little gang before.."
'You are literally naming everything that makes up a gang member.'
".. but there's no way I'm a delinquent. No way!" he clicked his tongue.

Legacy of Blood
Ao Ruang lives in a village isolated from the outside world. Due to a tragic fate he finds himself far away from his home on the brink of death. Only to be entrusted with the legacy of a near extinct race.A Legacy he must embrace.A Legacy that fills humanity with suspicion and hate.A Legacy written in blood. Hello Author here!I hope you all are enjoying my take on a cultivation story. I wanted to take elements I enjoy from cultivation novels while avoiding some of the tropes and insane power creep. I want to keep things as grounded as possible. The story is a bit quick paced in the start, but you will find that it slows down to a decent pace later on. The romance is going to be a slow burn and I want to keep it a bit of a surprise. While our protagonist Ao Ruang is the main man of the story their were will be times other characters will get some love also.Lastly, there will be occasional goals from latest chapter if those goals are reached I will release a bonus side chapter that focuses on other characters we have met before and I'm considering having polls to decide who the side chapter will be on.Please consider supporting me in anyway you can. For now I'm just looking for people to review, suggest to others, and interact.Respectfully,Joseon Walking
