So my story isn't a long one but it happens over a long time period.

I started public school when I was 4 instead of 5 because my birthday falls on a weird spot in the year. My public school was like a prison. It literally looks like a prison. It felt like a prison. I was born over a month early which caused my right ear to not be fully formed. And of course this meant people just have to give their opinion on it.

I have never let myself be a victim to anything or anyone. But at some point I guess I just decided to stop standing up for myself.

I've had boys pick on me for my lack of right ear, platinum blonde hair, small body, you name it. But I always shook it off and ignored it. The thing that really got me was my best friend since I was 4 bulling me. At first I brushed it off like she was just being over protective and she really cared about me.

She got really possessive. She spread lies about me to my other friends so she would be the only one, she put me down and the things I was good at and the things I loved so I would need her, she attacked anyone who wanted to get close to me.

Finally when I got out of public school and started being homeschooled in 4th grade I found good people. But I still kept her around. It wasn't until I found this girl that was a true friend that I got rid of my fake best friend. My true friend made me realize that I deserved better than what I was getting. So I got better.

I've dealt with depression all of my teenage life but it has gotten better since I left my bad friend. We took a break for 3 years and she changed a lot. I forgave her and took her back as a friend, not a close friend but a friend. She tries daily to show me how sorry she is for how she was before and I'm really proud of how she turned herself around.
