Church was never something you liked

Stuck in a stuffy room

With a preacher shouting on a stage

On a Sunday morning

You never saw the appeal

You guess you could understand

People trusting

Believing in a higher power

A savior who will save us from the bad deeds

Drawing us toward the good

You can understand that

But what you can't understand is the manipulation

Being forced to read a bible and accept Jesus in your heart

Being told that God is the answer

Controlling what you know

What you think of the world

You don't understand it

You don't get why you were raised this way

Why you were forced to believe

Believe in something you never wanted to

Believe in a man in the sky

Believe in the things you were fed

Because now you are scared

Scared of the things you were told

Scared of the man in the sky

Scared of the church
