Chapter Fifty Seven- More Goodbyes than Hellos

"Please don't leave" I whispered helplessly.

Tom's arms where wrapped around my neck, holding me to his chest, as mine where wrapped around his waist, my fingers fiddling with the strings of his back pack. We were in the airport, in a few minutes he would board- leaving me here.

He rested his head on mine lightly as he chuckled "You keep saying that even though you know that it doesn't make a difference"

I leaned back so that I could look into his beautiful stormy blue eyes. "But I want you to know that I don't want you to leave" I said choking up; tears crept down my face silently.

He cupped my cheek, brushing away the tears with his rough thumb. I leaned my head into his hand loving the warmth that erupted in my stomach and closed my eyes peacefully.

He took in a shaky breath "I want you to promise me something"

My eyes fluttered opened drowning in his sad ones. "Anything" I whispered

"Promise me that we are going to be alright, that this isn't goodbye forever...just for a little while?" He asked looking like he was in pain, as he continued to caresses my cheek.

I hugged him to me tightly, not wanting to let go, never wanting to let go. "I promise" I said into his chest.

We broke apart and he smiled sadly with tears forming in his eyes as they called his plane.I sniffled and he let out a small chuckle.

He kissed me sweetly, moving our lips in synchronization slowly, savoring the moment, before his lips left mine making them turn a bitter cold. He rested his forehead on mine, looking into my eyes as I looked into his. He brushed some of the hair away from my face as I tried to smile.

Then he held my hands placing them on his chest. I could feel the warm heart beat pumping through his t-shirt. He hummed peacefully. "I'll love you Cassandra Mary Dean until the day I die"

I smiled letting out a small sob. "I-I love you too"

With shaky hands he lifted up my right hand, and removed the golden band from my ring finger, and then he let my right hand fall to my side and held my left in both of his hands. He slowly slid the ring onto my ring finger, smiling "One day" he promised.

He backed away a few steps. He swallowed, sighed, and then kissed the ring on my finger, before letting it go.

I slowly brought it closer to me, and waved goodbye as the tears flew down my cheeks like endless rain drops.

He got on the plane and left. I stood there in the almost empty air port, hugging his sweatshirt close to my body.

It was nine o'clock when I started to see familiar sights on the road. The tears hand ended, leaving me to my misery. I felt horrible, depressed, and empty. He took part of me with him, leaving a defining whole.

I sighed as I stopped at a red light, wanting to crawl into my bed under the covers and fall asleep for two months.

The street lights where on, shinning down on the dark wet pavement. Many cars were stopped at my sides. Many cars were in front of my eyes. But even though I was surrounded by the bystanders of the town, I felt irrevocably alone.

My phone buzzed in my cup holder. I snapped out of my daze and flipped the phone open holding it up to my ear as the blood red light flashed to green.

"Hello?" I asked weakly, only now noticing how pathetic I sounded.

"Cas? What's wrong?" Taylor said on the other end, sounding concerned.

"Nothing really" I said lying sparing her the story of my lamentable love life.

"Really Cassie what's eating you?" Her high voice asked.

I sighed "It's just- I just dropped Tom off at the airport"

"Oh...well you know what we should do?" She asked.

I rolled my eyes already knowing the answer as another light turned red. I mouthed the word 'party' directly as she said the word "Party"

"Tay I really don't feel like partying and I have to go and get Timber anyway" I said pressing my foot onto the gas pedal as the light turned green once more.

"You're going to his house?" She asked interested.

I sighed "Yeah"

"...Well...do you think that I could go?"

I half smiled; I did kind of owe it to her. "Yeah I don't think that they would mind...I'll be at your place in ten minutes"

"Yes! I love you!" She said buoyantly before she hung up.

I laughed half heartedly to myself. Maybe a girls night out is just what I needed.

Taylor sat in the passenger seat, practically bouncing up and down in awe as we drove into the drive way. I laughed at her urgency.

"Taylor calm down, I don't want you destroying the house" I told her as I walked behind her, toward the back door, she was already three paces in front of me.

She unlocked the gate and stood in shock as she gazed at the backyard. "This- this-" she began.

"Is amazing?" I laughed "I know" I moved around her and strode up to the back door, grabbing my key and turning it slightly in the lock, receiving a joyful click. Timber ran around the corner and out the back door immediately, jumping up and down on me for a brief second before he ran over to a still awe struck Taylor. He ran around her twice then licked her hand, obviously he remembered her.

She blinked and knelt down to Timber "Hey there buddy" she pet him softly as I walked into the dark house.

I sighed and closed my eyes tiredly. I heard the door click shut and Timber's nails against the cold marble floor.

"Tour?" Taylor asked excitedly.

I shook my head walking through the kitchen with Taylor following behind me "No, look for yourself" Then I stopped and turned to her before heading upstairs "But don't...I repeat don't mess with any of their stuff" She gulped and nodded.

I continued trudging up the stairs. "Where are you going to be?" Taylor asked.

"You'll find me, I promise you will" I half smiled down to her as she started exploring the downstairs. Timber climbed up the stairs with me.

I lay down on his bed under the covers, inhaling his scent. Timber was by my side lying peacefully under my fingers that brushed his hair back and forth. I stared at the ceiling, depressed. I had turned on my ipod and pressed repeat to 'Fire to the third bar' by snow patrol. It fit nicely with my mood.

I felt like I was actually alone. I couldn't hear a sound from Taylor. Not that I really cared that she was here. I still seemed to have a twinge of hatred towards her, but I tried to put the past behind me.

"Cassie!" Taylor called from somewhere in the upstairs region.

"What?!" I asked annoyed. I just wanted to drown in my sorrow.

"Where are- never mind" She said as she reached the doorway. "So this is Tom Felton's room." She said nodding her head up and down in approval while walking over to me on the bed. "A little messy but nice" I sighed, he still hadn't cleaned all of the broken items in his room. "Party now?" She asked after a moment's silence.

I closed my eyes and sighed again. She wouldn't leave me alone until she got what she wanted. "Sure"

"Yay" she clapped her hands and pulled me up from the bed.

Right when we got into the local club did Taylor disappear in the cluster of people, of course. I walked over to the bar, sitting down, waiting for the headache to come, and it would since the music will most likely make me deaf.

"Hey beautiful, what can I get ya?" Asked the bar tender. He had to be twenty four twenty five, He was cute, had brown curly hair and green eyes.

"I'll just have a wat-no I'll have a beer" I smiled as best I could.

He turned around and in a moment's notice he appeared with a beer in hand, sliding it over the wooden counter to me.

I took a long gulp of it before I placed it back down, and stared at the rim of the brown glass.

"Break up?" The guy asked cleaning some glasses with a towel.

I shook my head solemnly "No my..." Boyfriend? Yeah Tom could be considered my boyfriend "boyfriend just left today"

"He left you?" he asked shocked, as if no one in their right mind would ever leave me.

"Not like that, he had to for his job" I answered taking in another gulp of the intoxication.

Four beers later I couldn't tell if I was spinning or standing still. All I know is that I was happy, and having a very good time. Dancing and swaying to the music with Taylor, tumbling over and laughing my ass off. It was great, everything was hilarious to me.

"Hey Hey Frankie get me another beer!" I shouted hopping up and down, leaning over the counter about to grab for one, when Frank's hand caught my arm and pushed me back gently.

"No I think you have had enough" He said his eyes wide, and serious. I pouted at him.

"Cassie?" Someone called. I turned my head in the direction that my name was called. My dizzy eyes found a dirty blonde head...he looked familiar..... "Matty!" I shouted lunging at him. I tackled him in a hug, and then continued to pout at Frankie.

"Do you know her?" Frankie asked Matty, who had his arms around my waist holding me back from climbing on the counter.

"Yeah...she's my friends ex girlfriend" Matty answered, trying to control me.

I shook my head back and forth quickly "Nooooooooo Matty we back together now!!!!"

"Seriously?" Matty asked looking shocked.

"Yepadoodles...now help me get more beer!!!!!!!!" I whined reaching over the counter again, but Matty pulled me back more.

"No Cassie, come on I'll drive you home" Matty said pulling me back about three feet from the bar.

"Noooooooooooooo home is boring!!!!!! I wanna have fun! I never have fun! I wanna I wanna I wanna!!!" I shouted as he picked me up thrashing and all.

He started walking through the club, ignoring my complaints. I just wanna have fun, and be happy what's so bad about that?

"Is that...Cassie?" Someone asked. I looked my best around Matty and found another familiar face.

"Rosey Posey!!!! Haven't seen you in forever! Tell Matty to put me dooooowwwwwnnnn!"

"She went a little over bored didn't she?" She asked Matt as I started at the pretty glowing lights.

"Yeah I'm going to drive her to Tom's place, you coming?" He asked.

"Yeah of course but won't Tom get mad?" Rosey asked already following us out of the club, as I continued to whine.

"She says that they are back together"

"She is drunk; she could just be saying that"

"She has the keys to his house"

"You looked through my pockets?? That is NOT a very nice thing to do Matty!!!"

-Third Person-

"Wait you leave for weeks without telling us where you are going, and come back saying that you and Cassie are back together happy as a nut?" Rupert asked a smiling Tom.

Tom nodded his head excited about telling them that him and Cassie where back to the way things should be.

"Stop questioning him!" Dan shouted and jumped at the chance to hug Tom. "They are back together and that is all that matters!"

"She didn't tell me again!" Emma said shocked, as Dan pulled away from Tom.

Tom turned serious and pointed a finger at Emma "If you give her any shit about that I will hurt you, even if you are a girl"

"Why so serious?" Rupert asked curious.

Tom sighed "We are not perfect. We are doing okay. I just don't want Emma to scare her off"

Emma rolled her eyes "Well I'm calling her right now"

"No I'm going to call her" Tom said already pressing the speed dial on his phone causing the ringing to occur on the speaker phone before Emma had the chance to dig her phone out of her bag.

"Hello?" An exhausted male voice answered the phone.

"Who the hell is this?" Tom asked threateningly, as Rupert started cracking up laughing.

"Tom?" The voice asked.

"Yes, and again I ask who the hell is answering my girlfriend's phone?!"

"Calm down, its Matt...Cassie No!"

"Matt? Why are you-what's going on?" Tom asked confused and worried, as well as the other eyes in the room.

"Rose get her upstairs" Matt said sighing "Look Rose and I went to a club and I found Cassie totally wasted, we brought her back to your place"

"Wasted?" Tom asked

Matt grunted "Cassie that's not nice"

"Is that Tommy Boy?" Cassie's voice asked from a distance. Tom leaned forward as if this motion would bring him closer to her.

"Yes...Do you want to talk to him?" Matt asked slowly.

"No!" She screamed "His job is more important than me!"

Tom fell into the chair shock written across his face, along with hurt.

"I've got her!" Rose shouted from far off "Look Tom, she is really drunk...she didn't mean that"

Tom swallowed hard "I give you three reasons as to why she started drinking"

"Sorry mate" Matt said after a moment.

Tom shook his head "its fine, thanks for taking care of her"

"It's not a prob-" Matt laughed "I'm not going to finish that sentence"

"Sorry" Tom apologized.

"Yeah well I'll talk to you later" Matt said.

"Bye" Tom answered; he closed the phone in shock "Well now I feel like shit"

"You should" Emma said.

"Well thank you" Tom said sarcastically rolling his eyes at her.

I woke up sprawled upon Tom's bed, very disoriented. I sat up on my arms and ran my hand through my messy disgusting hair, and groaned...then winced at the sudden sound.

I looked at the night stand for the time, and saw a glass of water and pain killers. I reached for them as soon as my eyes landed on them. Swallowing them gladly I read the note that was placed by the now digesting pills.

'Cassie, here are some pain killers. You will defiantly need them in the morning.

-Rose

P.S. You should probably call Tom

Wow I must have been really drunk. Rose? I don't remember Rose being there...I pulled my phone out from my jeans pocket and dialed her number.

She picked up on the second ring.

"Hello?"

"Rose?" I asked after clearing my throat.

"Oh Cassie, how do you feel?"

"Horrible. What happened last night?"

"Well Matt found you, very drunk, and we took you home" She said simply.

"God I'm sorry, and thanks"

She laughed "It's really not a problem"

"Still thank you...hey what did you mean by you should call Tom?"

"Oh well he kind of called you when you were not really yourself and Matt answered...long story short, you should just call him"

"Oh Okay thanks" I mumbled. What had happened?

"Again not a problem, I have to go. Melissa is being very immature, and by the way I'm glad you two are back together"

I smiled slightly "Thanks, bye"

"Bye"

I stood up and stretched, creating multiple bones to crack. I rubbed my head soothingly as I walked down the stairs, and into the kitchen.

My stomach felt very unsettled as I reached for the refrigerator door, only to cover my mouth and run to the bathroom and- I'll spare you the details.

I moaned and leaned up against the door in case I wasn't fully finished empting my stomach. I hate hangovers.

My phone vibrated in my pocket causing me to giggle as it tickled my side. I sighed pulling it out of my pocket..."God damn it!" I shouted then groaned clutching my head, as Tommy Boy flashed across the screen. Let's get ready for a lecture.

"Hello?" I asked quietly, closing my eyes ready for the impact.

"What the hell?!" He shouted.

I winced "Don't"

"Don't what? Tell you how irresponsible you are! I mean come on Cassie drinking? You better be glad Matt was there. Think about what could have happened to you! You could have murdered or raped or or or-"

"SHUT UP!" I shouted at him, causing my throbbing head to groan in protest. "I know it was stupid and reckless and all of the above okay? I was just having a little...fun. So stop fucking yelling because it really isn't helping anything!" I sighed when I was finished.

"I don't think you understand how serious this is" he said quieter.

"No I don't think you understand how irrational you're acting"

"Irrational?!" He roared "Well how's this for irrational? I don't want you drinking again unless I am there"

"Oh really and when are you fucking here Tom?!"

We were both silently for a moment.

"You can't tell me what to do" I said.

He hung up. I sighed. "Timber" I called helplessly.

A few second later a brown dog ran around the corner and up to me, wagging his tail. I ruffled his fur. "Why does he have to be so-ugh?"

Timber, being a dog, did not understand what I was saying and continued to look happy. I laughed and stood up awkwardly. Time for food.

During my low profile lunch, I got a phone call from Taylor gushing about how she thought she found the perfect guy last night...not to mention that she slept with him already. Yes Taylor is not a virgin. She hasn't been since our junior year.

I didn't speak to Tom the rest of the day.

Monday soon rolled around. I had moved Timber to my apartment the day before. He seemed content enough. Anyway Monday came and I was dreading going to work, we had this meeting at the end of the day which I really was not looking forward to attending. I wish Tom would call...

I so stubbornly wouldn't let myself call him. He is the one who hung up. If he wanted to continue the conversation he is going to be the one to call me.

I sighed as I opened the door to the clinic. Sarah sniffled. My eyes flashed to her. She had slow tears trailing down the sides of her face and was looking at something.

"Sarah what's wrong?" I asked hesitantly as I hung up my purse.

She looked to me and shocked crossed her eyes, as she suddenly covered whatever she was looking at under a bunch of paper work.

"What's that?"

"Nothing" She said quickly whipping her eyes.

I grabbed what was a magazine, out of the disoriented pile of papers and looked at the cover. It was a stupid teenage trash.

"Why do you read this stuff? It's never true" I flipped over to the creased page she must have been crying over.

I gasped. It was Tom and I in the airport. Multiple shots had been taken and where all over the page. "When the hell did they take these?" I asked to myself in utter shock, then glanced at Sarah.

"Why can't he just stay here with you? Why does it have to be so difficult?!" She walled.

I laughed half heartedly as I flung myself into my chair. "Because Tom isn't just Tom, or even Tom Felton. Tom is Draco Malfoy a very popular character a multimillion dollar franchise"

She sniffled "How can you stand it?"

I shrugged "I stand it because I love the stupid guy"

"You're mad at him aren't you?" She asked suspiciously.

"In a matter of words yes but I don't want to talk about it"

"Okay I can take a hint" she laughed, as I turned to the mountain load of paper work in front of me.

I popped my gum loudly as I slouched in my chair, not listening to the important meeting going around me. I stared at the white walls of the small office we were crushed into.

"-and so without anymore wondering...we are renovating!" My eyes snapped to the manager, who was now revealing multiple pictures of a new clinic. "And it will only take two weeks to complete!"

I raised my hand hesitantly.

"Yes Cassandra" Mr. Fuller asked.

"Does this mean we get two weeks off?" I asked

He nodded his head "With pay"

All the employees went wild, and with that note the rest of the meeting was shot to hell.
