《Ennard X Reader: Tubes and Wires》Dark Figures

The fun in the park had ended. Springtrap announced that it was time to continue along the trip, in which the three of you did without question. The forest was massive in size. A park gate separated the city from it; a border between human and unknown beast that could be lurking in the depts of the woodlands. You blankly stood before the forest, glancing at the many types of trees and shrubs that layered the outskirts of the park. You didn't know many of them, but it didn't matter to you or the others.
Springtrap, being ahead of Ennard and Yenndo, walked up and stood beside you, taking in the sight of the forest as well. A light smile formed on his tattered face as he looked down at you. "It's a beautiful sight, especially during the night hours..." You glanced up at the rabbit and nodded. You noticed that his silver eyes were glowing, which was interesting to you. Springtrap gave a little chuckle at your staring, causing you to blink and give another nod. "Oh, um, Yeah. The snow really makes it look pretty, especially with the moon's light shining off of it." You quickly said with an embarrassed smile. Springtrap chuckled once more and then glanced down at the gate's lock. It was a normal bar-lock, one that you just unlatched from the gate. You returned your gaze to the forest, a small frown soon registering on your face. "Do you think we'll be able to see if we travel at night?" You questioned. Springtrap looked away from the gate and then at you, smiling assuringly. "I'm sure we will. The moon's full tonight, which means the forest should be lightened by it's glow." The rabbit softly replied. Ennard and Yenndo soon approached the two of you, awaiting for what Springtrap had to say. The rabbit ushered you aside and then unlatched the bar-lock on the fence. He pushed the gate open and then turned back to the three of you. "Well, this is truly where our journey begins. Are all of you ready?" The three of you exchanged nods of approval. "Well, then... Let us be on our way..."
As you observed earlier, the forest was massive in size. Different types of trees, big and small, layered the wondrous landscape. You were astonished that the moon's light could even shine through the blanket of leaves that covered the forest top. As you walked, you would constantly tug at your backpack straps. They were beginning to hurt your shoulder blades due the weight that you were carrying. Ennard, who was glancing around at the dark, snowy forest, caught sight of you tugging at the backpack's straps. He glanced forward, noticing that Yenndo and Springtrap were a few yards ahead. He took that it was a good time to talk with you. A light smile formed on the clown's face as he quickened his pace to catch up with you.
You continued to tug and pull at the backpack's straps, soon becoming frustrated with the pain that it was causing you. A quiet grumble slipped from your lips as you began to take the backpack off, soon pausing as you felt it lift itself from your shoulders. You glanced back with a confused expression, soon giving a little smile as you saw Ennard behind you. He gently removed the backpack from your shoulders and slipped the hefty item onto his own, casting you a kind smile afterwards. "Let me carry it for you." The clown implied. You giggled and raised an eyebrow playfully. "Hmm, I don't know... Do you think you can handle that? It's kinda heavy~" Ennard smiled assuringly and playfully ushered you to keep walking. The two of you walked side by side; you watched your shoes tromp against the shallow snow while Ennard kept a gentle gaze on you. There were so many things he wanted to tell you, but he just couldn't find the courage to do it. Even if it was just the two of you. The only thing he could bring himself to say was, "So... D-do you like the snow...?"

You broke your concentration on your snow-crunching feet and looked up at him, registering a smile. "Oh, yeah. It's great. I lost track of the months while I was staying with you guys. I didn't know it was winter." You replied. A light frown formed on Ennard's face. A wave of guilt hit him at your words. "...You aren't...mad at us for keeping you down there...are you?" Ennard's sad tone made you pause. You glanced back up at him with a saddened expression. "N-no...? What makes you think that?" "Well... You seem so happy up here, and, I just feel like we were keeping you from being happy." He replied sullenly. You frowned and sighed. You didn't know what to say. You loved staying with Baby and her friends, but... You almost always missed the surface world. In a way, you felt like Arial from The Little Mermaid; torn between a world that you desired to be in and one that you actually belonged in. You gathered and spoke the only words that would leave your mouth. "Ennard... I love living with you guys. I know you feel guilty about keeping me underground, but all of you have made me a part of your family; I have my own room, I can have my pets, and I get to see you guys everyday. And that keeps me happy all the time." You said.
Ennard was surprised by your assuring words, but he was still saddened by the thought of you having no where else to live. He knew you were from the surface, unlike him and his fellow circus friends, and that you missed it sometimes. "I just want you to be happy... Y-you mean a lot to me..."
A warm smile formed on your face at the clown's words. You could tell that he had to force himself to say that last sentence due to how flustered and nervous he now was. You giggled and gave him a hug, the warmness of his wires causing you to hum in comfort. "You're so sweet, Ennard- and warm, too~ And don't worry, I'm happy as can be living underground with you guys." You then turned and continued walking, Ennard walking beside you. Ahead, Springtrap had found himself caught in a conversation with Yenndo. The endoskeleton was asking multiple questions about him, but only one of them actually caught the rabbit's attention, and Yenndo asked it in a near whisper. "And...that house we saw on the cameras... Do you know anything else about it?" Springtrap nearly stopped walking as he heard the question. His mouth opened to speak, but no words came out. "I... Well... No, I don't think so..." He replied. "But, what about the thing me and Lolbit seen on one of the monitors? Surely nothing would live in that house if William once lived in it- and you mentioned we'd be passing by the house on our trip?" The endoskeleton babbled on curiously, sounding almost frightened. Springtrap just gave a calm smile and patted Yenndo on his shoulder. "There's no need to be frightened, Yenndo. That 'thing' you and Lolbit seen was most likely a glitch in the camera feed. Even if there were something lurking in the darkness of that house, I'm sure it would pay us no mind." Springtrap assured. Yenndo gave a relieved smile and then glanced back at you and Ennard, the two of you still being a few yards behind him and Springtrap. You were pulling on a low tree branch, trying to break off one of it's thinner branches to fiddle around with. Seeing that you were getting no progress done, Ennard stopped to help you, until you gave another pull which snapped the stick and made you stumble backwards into the snow. You clumsily got to your feet and proudly showed the stick to Ennard. Smiling with triumph, you said, "Look!" Ennard chuckled and then studied the stick; it's texture looked crispy and it had one orange leaf at the edge of it's top. "Yeah, that's quite a stick." He joked.

Yenndo watched as you playfully punched Ennard's arm, then the mechanical clown pulled you into a playful hug. The site made Yenndo sigh. He knew how close you were to Ennard, and how you felt towards him. It didn't make Yenndo jealous, but it did make him feel a little saddened that he was only a 'good friend' to you. Springtrap had noticed Yenndo's saddened gestures; the endoskeleton's ears had dropped slightly, his eyes were half opened, and his shoulders were lowerd. "Is something wrong, Yenndo?" The rabbit's soft voice startled the endoskeleton, causing him to swiftly glance up at the tattered animatronic. "O-oh, uh, nothing..." Springtrap raised an eyebrow, which caused Yenndo to spill the beans. "...It's about Y/N... I have feelings for her, but I know she doesn't feel the same way..." Yenndo sadly admitted. Springtrap's eyes widened slightly with surprise. "She does seem to have an attraction to Ennard... But, I've noticed that Y/N cares deeply for you as well, Yenndo, like how one would feel towards their dearest friend. And surely that's a great honor to have." The rabbit implied. Yenndo gave another sigh before smiling warmly at Springtrap's words. "Yeah, at least that's true."
The sun had set for the day, making the afternoon sky fade into a magnificent orange and yellow as dawn prepared to fall. The four of you had made a lot of progress in a single afternoon, but there was still one more day ahead before all of you would reach William. But for now, it was time to rest.
Springtrap had stopped in a small clearing. The rabbit glanced around for a moment before bending down to clear the snow from an area on the ground. You approached the rabbit and watched as he stood back up and began gathering fallen sticks off the ground. "What are you doing?" You asked curiously. Without looking at you, Springtrap replied in a soft voice, "Gathering wood for a fire. Don't want to be cold tonight now, do we~" There was an old tree trunk lying in the clearing. Ennard and Yenndo had sat on it to take a break before the two noticed Springtrap putting sticks and small branches into a pile. The rabbit glanced at the two other guys and raised an eyebrow. "Aren't you two going to help?" He asked. The two endos stared cluelessly at him before realizing what the rabbit meant. "Oh, yeah. Sorry..."
Ennard slipped the backpack from his shoulders, sat it on the log, and then left to gather more firewood with Yenndo. You had occupied yourself by pulling leaves off of a nearby bush. You gathered a handful and then put them onto the wood pile, watching as the small leaves fell between the peices of wood and sticks. You gave a small smile and said, "These leaves should help light the fire." You then turned to retrieve more leaves, almost bumping into Springtrap in the process. The rabbit chuckled at your clumsiness and then proceeded to put another armful of wood onto the pile, noticing the small leaves that were now scattered about it. He raised an eyebrow in curiosity then glanced back at you, noticing that you were pulling leaves off of a bush. You had stripped an entire half side of the small plant bare! Springtrap gave a chuckle as he stood up and faced you. "I suppose the bush will be cold then, huh?"
The rabbit's gentle voice made you turn to face him, then you glanced back at the half nude bush, soon registering a blank expression. You hastily poured the leaves all over the plant and rushed over to the woodpile and nervously stood beside it, glancing around as if the forest was angry with you for stripping one of its bushes half raw. Springtrap gave an amused smile and tidied up the woodpile. After calming down, you backed up to the log that laid a few feet from the woodpile and took a seat on it. Glancing around you noticed that two of the group members were missing. "Hey... Where's Ennard and Yenndo?"
Before Springtrap could answer, the sound of feet crunching through snow made you turn to look behind you. Out of the woods came Ennard. He was carrying a small pile of twigs and sticks in his arms. You were about to ask where Yenndo was, but paused as you heard something large being dragged through the snow. You glanced beyond Ennard and saw Yenndo come into view. The endoskeleton was struggling to pull something along with him, and you almost burst out laughing at what it was; a large tree limb. Springtrap noticed it as well and was a little puzzled. The rabbit looked to Ennard questioningly. "I don't even know where he found that thing at..." The clown replied blankly.
Yenndo dragged the limb halfway into the small clearing before releasing it and falling back into the snow with his sides heaving. "...I got...firewood..." He then glanced over to the rest of you, soon noticing the rather large pile of wood. The endoskeleton sighed and grumbled, "Oh, come on! You guys already had firewood?" You giggled and then slid over the log and walked over to the exhausted endo. You helped him to his feet and walked with him back to the log where Ennard had previously sat your backpack. You unzipped it and took out the first aid kit that Baby had packed for you. In it was a pack of different sized bandaids, some cotton swabs, a small bottle of peroxide, a roll of bandage wrap, a pack of alcohol pads, a small pocket knife, and a box of matches. You took out the box of matches and walked over to Springtrap, handing the matches to him. He took one out, struck it, and then placed it on the small leaves that you had scattered around the bottom of the pile. The sticks and twigs had caught fire almost instantly, just as if they had been frozen for an eternity and clung to the small flame for warmth. Springtrap handed the matches back to you and allowed you to put them and the first aid kit back into your backpack. You then pulled out the travel tent that Baby had stuffed into the pack and turned to Ennard and Yenndo.
"Would you guys put up the tent while I find sticks for some S'mores?" Your sweet voice caused the two endos to smile at you approvingly. You handed Ennard the tent, and him and Yenndo got to work; they cleared the snow from a little area, took the tent out of its carrying bag, and then began to set it up. With that, you turned and walked to the large branch that Yenndo had dragged in and began selecting a few, thin branches to roast the marshmallows on. While you were doing that, Springtrap was sitting on the log, keeping the fire neat and tidy. For such a tattered animatronic, he was very clean and 'well-groomed', as to say. You glanced back to Ennard and Yenndo, pausing to see their progress with the tent. Yenndo had somehow managed to tangle himself in the stake-ropes and Ennard was currently trying to untangle him, grumbling words of protest as he did so, but they managed to get the tent set up halfway at least. You returned your attention to the tree limb and snapped off another thin stick, clearing the leaves off it so it could be used to roast marshmallows. You added it to your collection of two other sticks and returned your attention back to the limb, searching for another suitable roasting stick.
"Ok, we're almost done. Now we just need to hammer the stakes and ropes into the ground." Ennard instructed. Yenndo, after being untangled from four different ropes, followed Ennard's orders and began to tie the ropes to the ends of the tent and proceeded to hammer each one into the frozen ground using a small stone. After that was done, the two stood back and admired their work. The tent was a little larger than it looked, but of course, it was kind of a great blessing. After all, everyone needed to be sheltered while sleeping. You collected the four roasting sticks and turned to the others. An impressed smile registered on your face when you saw the tent. Yenndo and Ennard had done a fabulous job putting it up; it was very neat and tidy. Not to mention the fact that the tent made the area look like a real campground. "Wow! You guys do know how to set up a tent after all! I honestly thought it would've been frustrating for you two." You complimented as you walked over to the two endos. Ennard chuckled and then looked to Yenndo. "Well, someone found it a little frustrating." Yenndo playfully rolled his eyes at Ennard's teasing. "Hey, it's hard to handle ropes when they slip between your wires, haha!" You gave an amused smile and then held up the sticks for them to see. "Here. I got these sticks so we could make Smores. You guys can eat, right?" You questioned. "Oh, yeah. Well, not technically like you people do. We animatronics are made to be mascots of food establishments, so we have something that helps us dissolve the food we eat." Ennard explained. You curiously raised a brow. "And what would that be?" "Acid tanks!" Yenndo said with a proud smile. His answer made you go blank. "Wait- you guys have an acid tank in your systems? Isn't that a little.... I don't know, dangerous?" You said. Ennard just shrugged and smiled. "Well, the acid can't leak through its tank, so not really. But there are times when our acid reflexes will act up. It's kinda like getting sick, we show the same symptoms as people do, only we upchuck acid, not vomit."
This new info was very interesting. You didn't know about the acid tanks, nor did you know about the risk of an animatronic becoming sick from it. "Huh, I never knew about that. I guess you guys are more human than you realize, am I right?" You teased as you turned and headed towards the campfire. Yenndo casted Ennard an awkward look and then proceeded to the campfire as well, with Ennard following behind him. Springtrap had found a large, flat stone for himself to sit on. He rolled it to the campfire and took a seat on it, soon noticing the three of you approaching. "Well, I have to say, the tent looks nice, you two. Well done." The rabbit complimented as you all took a seat on the log. Yenndo smiled widely. "Thanks~ Oh, and the fire looks great, too!" The endo said. Springtrap blinked in confusion, but then smiled amusingly. You pulled the pack of marshmallows from your backpack and then took out the grahmcrakers and mini Hershey chocolate bars as well. You passed every one a stick and then began instructing them on what to do. Springtrap already knew how to make Smores, but he let you continue so Yenndo and Ennard would know how to as well. "Ok, first, you need to put the marshmallow onto the end of the stick, just like so..." You took your stick and placed a marshmallow onto the tip of if, then paused to see how Yenndo and Ennard were coming along with the activity. Yenndo had put the marshmallow a little too far down the stick, which he had to fix, and Ennard had put the marshmallow onto the stick sideways. But whatever floats your boat. "Now you need to place the marshmallow over the fire and wait until it turns a toasty tan color..." You instructed. Ennard literally put his marshmallow above the fire, like where the flames didn't even reach. You giggled and lowered it for him, which made him smile embarrassingly. You then heard a 'whoosh' sound and looked at Yenndo's progress. "Yenndo! The marshmallow isn't supposed to burn!" "Wait, it isn't suppose to be on fire like that?!" The endo blurted as he pulled his marshmallow away from the flames and blew it off, leaving nothing but a black, crispy case around the soft, squishy treat. He stared at it for a moment before sniffing it. "Mmmm... It smells good burnt." He said with a smile. You and Ennard laughed at the endo's words, making him laugh along as well. "Well then, here. Put it between a piece of chocolate and two grahmcrakers and you'll have a delicious Smore." You informed as you handed some chocolate and grahmcrakers to Yenndo and Ennard. As the two made and tasted their treat, you handed Springtrap some as well. He wasn't really hungry, but he accepted your kind offering with a polite 'Thank You'.
