《Ennard X Reader: Tubes and Wires》Ennard's Anatomy

Yenndo nervously pasted around the office. Lolbit, having just gotten back from taking Funtime Foxy to Funtime Freddy, sat on the desk, trying to think of a solution to the huge problem that Afton had brought upon the place. "W-what are we going to do now? If she wakes up, s-she'll remember what happened and she'll try to go see him..." Yenndo quietly stuttered. Lolbit rubbed his temple with frustration, not having a clue of what to do. "I... I don't know... There isn't much we can do... He's not... safe to be around anymore..." The fox replied as he glanced at your sleeping form with worry. Yenndo stopped walking for a moment to glance out from one of the office's doors. "Lolbit... if Ennard breaks through that glass..." "Yes, I know what he'll do! Just stop talking! P...please..." Lolbit ordered. Yenndo fell silent and backed away from the door. He leaned against the wall and gazed upon your sleeping form with a saddened expression. Lolbit was pondering on Yenndo's previous words. "I don't think he can break through that glass. The door is my main concern. But then again, if the module wiped his memory, then he shouldn't remember where the door is."
Yenndo was about to say something, but he heard you move in your sleep, followed by you yawning and opening your eyes. The two animatronics stiffened as you glanced at them. "Hey, Y/N... D-did you sleep well...?" Yenndo asked with a nervous smile. You blinked the tiredness from your eyes and then shrugged. "Well...I guess... W-where's Baby?" You asked as your eyes searched the room for the female clown. "Baby left. She wanted us to look after you for a while." Lolbit replied as he stood up and headed out the left door. "Hey, where are you going?" Yenndo called as he followed the fox out the door. Not wanting to interfere with their business, you stayed in your seat.
Yenndo rounded a corner and halted just before running into Lolbit. The fox turned and frowned. "Yenndo, you need to stay in there with her." He said. Yenndo scoffed and crossed his arms. "What, you're not gonna stay in there with me?" "Look, she feels more comfortable around you, Yenndo. If I was in there with the two of you, she'd feel shy and reclusive- it'd be too overwhelming for her. And that isn't going to help with what she's currently going through. You're one of her best friends, and she needs your support right now." Lolbit said. Yenndo uncrossed his arms and sighed. Lolbit was right. You were closer to him than the fox, and you did need his support. "Alright... But, what do I do if she mentions Ennard. You know she's gonna want to see him, e-even if he's turned already..."
Lolbit paused for a moment and mentally facepalmed himself. It never crossed his mind that you would ask about your best friend... The fox thought for a minute. "I'm not sure about that... If she saw how he currently is... She'd be terrified... Just do what you think needs to be done. I still have to speak with Baby about what to do with Ennard." Lolbit then continued his way to Funtime Auditorium. Before Yenndo could say anything else, he heard you call his name. "Coming, Y/N."
You had gotten up from your seat just as Yenndo entered the office. The endoskeleton was smiling in a nervous manner, his fingertips taping against each other. You looked at him with confusion, but shrugged it off. "Why did Baby want me to stay with you guys and not her?" You questioned in a saddened tone. Yenndo's nervous smile faded into a frown. "W-well... She thought that she'd failed to protect you. Before she left, she told me to look after you until everything straightened itself out." He replied. "...oh... Then what about everyone else? Are they alright?" You asked. Yenndo gave a little smile and then nodded. With that he turned and began tinkering with the static flickering tv's that were placed on the desk. For half an hour, you watched him go from tv to tv. It looked like he was reprogramming them or something in an effort to fix the static problem.

But your mind wasn't focused on just watching Yenndo do his handy work. You were thinking of Baby. She must've felt terrible for something that she couldn't have prevented from happening...
"...Will you take me to see Baby...? I-I want to talk to her..."
Yenndo paused for a moment. He calmly sat down his tools and turned towards you. His yellow eyes were gazing into yours with slight sorrow. "...Are you sure...?" He quietly asked. You hesitated for a moment and then nodded your head. "...A-Alright..."
You stood up from the office chair and followed Yenndo out of the office and into the exit hall. As the two of you progressed towards Funtime Auditorium, you noticed that Yenndo was acting a little strange, just as if he was somewhat frightened of something. "Is something wrong, Yenndo?" You quietly asked. The said endoskeleton raised his ears at your soft tone. As he kept walking, Yenndo tilted his head to you and gave a half smile. "N-no! Nothings wrong... J-Just a little nervous, I suppose..." He replied, returning his vision to his front view. You frowned in denial, but kept silent. You could sense that something was causing Yenndo to become a little disturbed, but you didn't want to make the situation worse. So you just kept silent.
Yenndo opened the door to Funtime Auditorium. He took a moment to take a cautious glance into the dimly lit area before turning back towards you. "We need to be very cautious when crossing through here, understand?" Yenndo ordered, his voice low and stern. You blinked in confusion but gave a nod anyway. Yenndo gazed into your eyes for a second and then turned to walk into Funtime Auditorium. The air had turned cold. The large area was dimly lit by a light that was fitted many feet above the two of you, making it hardly useful. Even though Yenndo asked for a cautious crossing, he had quickened his steps, almost as if he was trying to run. You furrowed your eyebrows with worry, being clueless as to why the endoskeleton was acting like this. "...Yenndo, what's wrong?" You quietly asked. The endoskeleton almost flinched when he heard your voice. "N-Nothing..." He replied hesitantly. You rolled your eyes and then grabbed his hand, causing him to stop walking and look at you. "Please, tell me what's wrong. You're making me worried." You said. Yenndo stared at you for moment and then gulped nervously. Just as he was about to speak, a loud creaking sound was heard a little off in the distance.
Yenndo shot his head up to stare into the darkness, his yellow eyes now wide with alarm. "...O-oh no..." Before you could turn around, Yenndo had grabbed your hand and started running. He was fast but you managed to free your hand from his painful embrace and kept up with him as he raced through the auditorium. "Y-Yenndo, what's going on?!" You cried. "KEEP RUNNING! DON'T LOOK BA-" In the blink of an eye, the endoskeleton was suddenly tackled to the ground, causing you to stop and scream. "YENNDO!!!"
The only thing you could see in the dim light was a mess of silver wires that belonged to Yenndo and another being. The two were screeching and violently punching and clawing each other; the attacker determined to destroy Yenndo while the endoskeleton fought for his life. You were about to scream for help, but then Yenndo managed to kick his attacker off of him, causing the other being to crash to the floor and slide back a few inches. You rushed over to Yenndo and franticly tried to pull him up, but he couldn't stand. He looked up at you with wide, terrified eyes. "Y/N, GET OUT OF HERE!!!" He shouted as the other being clumsily got back to it's feet. You looked forward and went wide eyed. Your heart sank as you saw who the attacker was...

...It was Ennard...
"...no..." You whispered in disbelief, your eyes now brimmed with tears. Through Ennard's wires, you could see the faint blinking of the power module that William had shot into his chest. The clown's beautiful, pale blue eyes were now a strange, eerie shade of purple, his straight and serious posture had changed into that of a murderous psychopath, his happy clowns' mask was no where to be seen, and neither was his old self. The device had twisted him into a monster... Yenndo forced himself to his feet and pushed you forward. "Y/N, RUN!!!" He shouted. You snapped out of your trance and then broke into a sprint, Yenndo trying his best to keep up with you. As you ran, you could see a vent in the distance. "KEEP GOING! THROUGH THE VENT!" Yenndo ordered. You quickened your running and soon approached the vent. Through panic and fear, Yenndo roughly pushed you into the low opening and then got in himself. The two of you crawled as fast as you could, fearful that Ennard was close behind. But he wasn't.
A loud screech was heard, followed by the sound of metal crashing against metal. You and Yenndo paused for a minute and peered behind yourselves, eager to see what was going on. More crashing was heard and then it was silent. You and Yenndo glanced at each other with confusion. "Wait, maybe that's Baby! She must've heard us being attacked!" Yenndo said. "A-are you sure? What if it's a trap? H-He could be tricking us to go back!" You questioned. Yenndo shook his head and then began crawling backwards. "He would've been coming straight for us. Some one stopped him." The endoskeleton assured. You gave a little gulp and then followed him out of the vent. You got to your feet and then looked before you. Ennard was lying on the ground in a lifeless state, oil dripping from his mouth and nostrils. "Ennard!" Before you could run over to him. A hand reached out and stopped you.
"I'd be cautious if I were you, sweetheart."
A calm voice caught your attention, causing you to notice who the hand belonged to. You gasped in surprised as you saw a tall, tattered, animatronic rabbit standing before you. His matted coat was a moldy green, showing many years of neglect and dispair. He held a crowbar in his right hand. Black oil layered a fraction of the object, evidently being used on Ennard. The rabbit's glowing, silver eyes were fixed on you as you cautiously backed away from him. Yenndo had been staring at the strange animatronic the whole time that you were focused on Ennard. Yenndo gently ushered you behind himself. "Who are you, a-and what do you want?" The rabbit shifted his view from you to Yenndo. He gave a half eyed smile and sat the crowbar on the ground. "Ah, where are my manners? I'm terribly sorry for frightening the two of you, but I saw that you needed some immediate help. Oh, and of course, my name is Springtrap." The rabbit gave a slight bow as he introduced himself, not breaking eye contact with Yenndo. "Well, Springtrap, we appreciate your help, but we need Ennard alive, not-" "No need to worry. I only blacked him out for a little while." Springtrap interrupted. Before Yenndo could reply, you knelt down and glanced at Ennard's lifeless form, worry filling your eyes. "H...He's going to be ok then?" You quietly asked. Springtrap gave another calm smile. "Well, he will if I can get that Power Module out of his chest before he awakens." The rabbit replied. You gave a slow, saddened nod and then returned your gaze to Ennard.
Yenndo reached down and gently patted your shoulder. "Don't worry... We'll find a way to get him back to normal... I promise." Yenndo assured. His confident words put a small smile on your face as you stood back up. "Allow me to introduce ourselves. My name is Yenndo, and this is my friend, Y/N. And by now I'm sure you know Ennard." Yenndo said. Springtrap gave a quiet chuckle and nodded. "Well, it's a pleasure to meet the two of you. And I'll do all I can to help your friend here. Are you two injured or anything?" Springtrap asked. You shook your head 'No' while Yenndo blinked and then looked down at his ankle. "Well, my ankle feels like it's a little twisted... But I can manage. What do we need to do first to remove the module?" The endoskeleton questioned. "Hmm... Well, we'll need to get Ennard onto a sturdy table of some sort. Then we'll need a light, but that's obvious. And I'll need some help. Do either of you know any mechanic skills?" "I know quite a bit. My friend Lolbit and I are the mechanics around here." Yenndo informed. Springtrap gave a nod. "That'll be perfect. But we need to keep this between us. Any distractions could cost us time. Do you have a work room of some sort?" Springtrap asked. "Yeah, the back office. It's at the other end of the auditorium. It'll be the perfect place to work." Yenndo replied. Springtrap gave another nod and then reached down to Ennard. "Alright then, I'll lift Ennard's front half, and you lift his lower. We need to keep as quiet as possible so no attention is drawn to us." Springtrap instructed. Yenndo nodded and then proceeded to lift Ennard's feet while Springtrap handled the front of Ennard. It was kinda funny to watch, Springtrap and Yenndo struggling to carry Ennard. The robotic clown seemed quite heavy, but they eventually made it to the office.
Yenndo took the staticky tv's off the desk and then helped Springtrap put Ennard onto the desks' smooth surface. Springtrap took a moment to carefully observe the problem before him. "Alright, the module doesn't look like it's very far in, but I'm going to need some time to remove it. It's more than likely stuck to Ennard's rib cage bar, so I might need some pliers to remove the module. Do you have any pliers, Yenndo?" The said endoskeleton went blank and then started searching the office. He looked under the desk and then grabbed something. "Here you go." Yenndo said as he handed the pliers to Springtrap. The rabbit nodded and then took the pliers. He then forced his hand through Ennard's chest wires in an attempt to get to the power module. When he found it, he gave it a tug, but nothing happened. "Oh, well... I do believe it's mounted to his rib frame, unfortunately..." Springtrap murmured. You furrowed your brows and stepped closer to see. "Unfortunately? Is that bad or something?" You asked. "In a way it is. I'll have to cut the module out. That will involve having to chip Ennard's rib frame. When he's back to normal, he might not be able to do much until his frame recovers." Springtrap explained with a frown. "How long will that take- wait, he won't be able to do much, like what?" You questioned. Springtrap gave a chuckle at your concerned questions, as did Yenndo. "Don't worry. He'll be fine, but you need to make sure he doesn't run or lift anything heavy for at least one whole day." Springtrap answered with a kind smile. You nodded in understanding and allowed the rabbit to continue working.
You sat down in the rollie chair, not wanting to interfere with Yenndo and Springtrap's work. You could hear Springtrap quietly giving directions of what to do, while Yenndo followed them immediately. The endoskeleton knew a lot about machanics, but he hardly knew anything about removing a power module and was eager to learn how. A few minutes later, Springtrap managed to maneuver the pliers in between Ennard's rib frame and the module. The rabbit gave a slow, heavy pull and broke the small device from its hold. Using the pliers, he held the module up to the light and studied it, then he sat it on the table. "Huh, that was more difficult than I thought it would be..." You got up from your seat and stepped forward, eyeing the small blinking item. "So... That little piece of plastic can control an entire animatronic?" You asked. Yenndo took the pliers and then scooted the module off the table and onto the floor. The endoskeleton then proceeded to step on the device, twisting his foot until the module cracked. "Yes. It controls its captor until the module is removed. They should always be destroyed if you encounter one." Yenndo explained as he picked up the pieces of the module and threw them away. As Yenndo did this, Springtrap was studying Ennard with interest. "Hmm, fascinating. Is Ennard a hybrid of some sort?" He questioned.
Yenndo was slightly shocked to here him ask that. "Well, yeah. He's made up of different types of endoskeletons, five to be exact." He stated. Springtrap gave a fascinated nod and then returned his attention to you and Yenndo. "When Ennard wakes, I would suggest keeping him somewhere quiet. He shouldn't be disturbed alot, but someone needs to be by him at all times. Since he is a hybrid animatronic, the power module might have corrupted his brain system, this can cause him to be in an alarmed state throughout his recovery time. That being said, you should be very mindful that alarmed states are dangerous. Anything sudden can cause him to go into 'defense mode', which means Ennard's aggression levels will rise tremendously." Springtrap warned. You and Yenndo exchanged a worried glance. "Y/N, we should move him to your room. It'll be the best place for him to recover- it's quiet, the air's not too warm, he'll have you by his side, it'll be best for him." Yenndo implied. Without opposing, you gladly nodded your head. Springtrap gave a heavy sigh at the sound of moving Ennard to another location. "Now where do we need to go?"

Gateway is a portal/isekai style GameLit novel, but it has two main lead characters and will eventually have a small cast of minor lead characters to support them. There will be small elements of base building / kingdom management added as well over time, but they will not be the focus. Gateway really is a slow burn that takes some time to get going unfortunately, but I hope you find it's worth the wait. Thank you! p.s. Book One is finally done (only needed one more chapter unfortunately...) but I'm off hiatus now and will be starting on Book Two right away!
