As you came back home from a guild day, you felt kind of lonely. Gajeel, Avril, Kaia and Pantherlily all went out on a job and Gabriel wanted to stay home today. Although, the birds chirping and the light breeze made you feel a little better.

Your (h/l) (H/c) hair flew with the breeze. The leaves in the trees rustled and small sun rays beamed into the forest. Your bandana came a little loose, causing it to start flying away but you noticed it.

"Oh no you don't!" You quickly caught the runaway bandana and tied it back into your hair.

Once you were close to home, you heard someone playing a piano and a faint voice that appeared to be singing a song. It got louder as you approached your home.

"Gabriel?" You thought aloud. You opened the door and saw Gabriel playing the piano and singing, as you suspected.

He did come from a family that had started with music and now revolves around it so you weren't that surprised that it was in fact him that you heard. But his voice is what stunned you. It wasn't like Gajeel's. Oh no. It was pure, and somehow sounded effortless.

"But I always thought you'd come back" he sang "and tell me, that all you found was, heart break and misery" you immediately recognized the lyrics.

They were part of a song you had planned to write but never got the chance to. You chimed in, catching Gabriel by surprised. "It's hard for me to say, I'm jealous of the way, your happy without me" you both sung in harmony. You got closer to the piano where Gabriel practiced, and he stopped playing.

"Wow," he looked up at you "dad said that you were a good singer but I never knew that you were that good." he said in awe.

"Well, you don't get your voice and playing abilities from no where." you chuckled.

"But have you heard dad sing?" Gabriel said.

"Don't even get me started." you rolled your eyes but smiled afterwards.

"Although, he does have a talent for playing guitar"

"Seems I come from a musical family" Gabriel sighed.

"Have you heard Avril sing before?" You asked, curious to see if she also had a voice like yours.

"I've heard her sing before in our room, but she's more into pop and rap. She kinda has an Avril Levine vibe. I'm, more into songs like the one your heard me play." Gabriel stated. "I really like the Weeknd and 6lack. But the old The Weeknd."

"So Soul and R&B, like me. Speaking of which, where did you get those lyrics from?" You smirked and cocked a brow.

"Hehe," Gabriel gave a nervous chuckle "I found your old songbook and I've started to create songs out of your broken lyrics."

"Hmm, figures." you left towards the kitchen, washing your hands to start and prepare dinner.

"And Avril stole your laptop and listens to your already made songs." Gabriel blurted.

"Well that explains why my keys have gotten really greasy." you sighed, grabbing some steaks from the fridge

"Yea, she also likes to binge watch things on your MageFlix account and eat while watching. Pretty Little Liars. She loves that." Gabriel chuckled. "Speaking of eating, what're we having?" Gabriel asked.

"I was thinking since it's just the two of us, I can make some barbecue steak with Natsu's help. Hopefully he doesn't burn half the forest like he did last time." You said. "And also, do you always sing songs like that? Like R&B with deep meanings?"

"Uhh, yea." Gabriel murmured "for rather personal reasons that dad would never understand."

"Girl troubles?" You asked.

"It's hard to look at it that way." Gabriel started "I mean, Rosemary and Raiden are my super close friends and all, but when me and Rosemary are alone, I get this weird feeling in my stomach but I don't wanna think it's a crush. But I also get this small feeling of jealousy when other guys get all flirty."

"I see. Y'know, before I met your dad, I felt that way around Natsu." you said, relating to Gabriel's situation while seasoning the steaks. "we were quite good friends and I had the same feeling in my stomach when we were alone. But he seemed to take a liking to Lisanna, which ticked me off. But when we all thought Lisanna had been killed, I felt more relaxed about this problem. But here comes another day when Natsu brings Lucy into the guild, and I felt helpless. But then I met your dad and I was ok." you explained.

"Hey, umm...how did you and dad meet?" Gabriel asked nervously.

"Well...you see, as you may have heard, he used to be part of a dark guild known as Phantom Lord. Fairy Tail ended up going to war with Phantom Lord, and I was his biggest rival in the war. I may have even used my dragon force on him, but in the end I beat him." You explained.

"Is he why you have that huge scar?" Gabriel said, pointing to your neck.

"Yes," you hated to admit it. "but I doesn't matter because that's over, and he's my best friend and husband. The past is the past."

After dinner, which Natsu thankfully didn't burn, you decided to go through some picture albums with Gabriel, because he was curious how young fairytail looked like, he wanted to see you and Gajeel during your dating and friendship years as well. You showed him your wedding pictures, pictures from the early years, and some embarrassing photos that Lily took without yours or Gajeel's consent.

After a few hours, you found Gabriel asleep on your bed. You smiled, seeing how vulnerable he looked. You softly kissed his forehead.

"G'night Gabe." you whispered, slowly pulling the covers over him. "Next week we have a big event coming up." you thought aloud, and thinking how prepared your children were.
