You had blacked out again. You were having this weird dream, that slowly became a nightmare.
"Mama, what do we have for dinner?" Said a young boy. He looked a lot like you.
"Yea, I'm hungry." a small girl pouted. The girl looked a lot like Gajeel.
'Mama?' You thought.
"Ask your uncle." You said. "He's the one preparing dinner tonight."
You were referring to Lily. You were supervising the youngsters while they were playing outside your small house in the woods. It was your current house.
'Uncle?' You thought.
"Where is papa?" The girl asked.
"He's running an errand for me, sweetie. Don't worry." you smiled and pecked the girls temple. She went back to play with her brother.
'Papa?' You thought.
"(Y/n)! Ava! Gabriel! Dinners ready!" You heard Lily shout out to you from the window.
"C'mon Ava, Gabe. Let's go eat." you opened the door and brought your kids inside.
'Ava? Gabriel?'
The kids sat in their seats at the dinner table and started to eat. You and Lily got into a conversation.
"Hey, Lily, where's Gajeel? Shouldn't he be here by now?" You said, taking a sip from your water.
"Hmm, I'm not sure." lily said.
Suddenly, Cana blasted your door open with a worried look on her face.
"(Y/n)! Lily! Ava and Gabriel! Get to the guild quick!" Cana ran out of breath, due to the running.
"Cana! What's wrong?" You stood up from your chair.
"No time to explain!"
"Lily! Bring the kids! I'll head over now with Cana." you ran out the door with Cana.
Lily got into his battle form and headed outside with the twins. Gabriel on Lily's back and Lily holding Ava. He flew towards the guild.
You and Cana bursted through the guild doors and Cana led you to the infirmary. You punched down the infirmary door and saw all the guild members around one bed.
You pushed and shoved everyone out of your way. Gajeel was lying on the bed, motionless.
"Gajeel? Master, what happened?!" You shouted.
"It appears Gajeel was poisoned. Porlyusica doesn't know a cure." he answered, calmly. "At this point, Porlyusica doesn't think he'll live."

You dropped to your knees. You grabbed his hand and prayed to the gods that he'll be okay.
Soon, Pantherlily brought the kids.
"Mama, why are you crying?" Gabriel tried to comfort you.
"What's wrong with papa?" Ava looked worried.
"Papa...is very sick." You obviously lied to your own kids, but you'd tell them the truth soon.
"Gajeel..." You mumbled.
"Gajeel..." you muttered.
You tossed and turned around your bed, and you had tears running down your cheeks.
"(Y/n)?" Gajeel was sitting beside your bed, waiting for you to wake up.
"Stay..." you muttered, in your sleep.
"(Y/n), are you okay?" Gajeel shook you lightly. You woke up and felt something wet on your cheeks.
"Good, your awake." Gajeel wiped the tears off of your face.
"G-Gajeel...?" You stuttered.
"I'm here, don't worry." he was well aware that you just had a nightmare. He wiped your tears away with his thumb.
"C-can you stay with me?" You whispered.
"Sure." Gajeel took off his tunic and climbed onto your bed.
You turned around to face him. He wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you closer.
"I just had the worst dream. You died..." you sniffled.
"Don't worry, I'll always be here for you. It was just a nightmare." he leaned in for a kiss. You gave him a small, soft kiss. You broke the kiss and Gajeel smiled.
You buried your head into his warm chest and fell asleep. Gajeel rested his chin on the top of your head.
'She keeps having these nightmares,' Gajeel thought.
-
You woke up to the smell of Crêpes. Gajeel was still holding on to you from last night. The sun was shining brightly into your room.
"Psst, Gajeel." you whispered as you poked Gajeel's bare chest.
"Huh..." Gajeel woke up.
He looked at you and you giggled. He got up from bed and so did you. You walked to the kitchen and saw Lily, in his battle form, wearing an apron, and flipping crêpes inside the pan.
"Wow, Lily. Your always here whenever I least expect it and you make delicious breakfasts." You were surprised.

You and Gajeel sat on the stools. Lily gave you and Gajeel plates. Lily tossed the crêpes one more time in the air and gave it to you. The next one was Gajeel's.
"Yo, Lily! Pass me the Nutella beside you!" you pointed to a jar filled with Nutella next to the oven. Lily threw it and you caught it.
You opened up the jar, took your spreader knife and overdosed your crêpe with the chocolate. You rolled it up into a log and took a bite. Gajeel laughed at your childish act. But, he ended up doing the same thing.
"Wow, Lily. These are amazing." you said as your mouth was stuffed with crêpe.
"You never seize to surprise me, bud." Gajeel said as he took another bite out of his crêpe.
The two of you soon finished up and headed to the guild. You wore your hair in a messy bun, wearing your bandana, of course, your black sweater, and white jeans.
You and Gajeel walked out your house.
You then remembered how you were supposed to take a day off on Monday.
You backed Gajeel up into a tree and then slammed your arms against the tree, trapping Gajeel in your arms. You gave him a glare.
"You don't expect me to go to the guild today, right?" You cocked a brow. "yesterday was supposed to be my day off, remember?"
"Yea, but that was yesterday." Gajeel said.
"I'm not going to the guild today. You can tell the master that I get a day off." you let go of the tree, puffed your cheeks and crossed your arms.
"That was sudden," Gajeel rolled his eyes. You started to walk away, back to your place.
"Tch, typical." Gajeel scoffed. He just started to follow you back to your house. You heard footsteps behind you and turned around to see Gajeel and Lily following you.
"I thought you were going to the guild." you said.
"I wanna spend some time with you." Gajeel said.
"I can leave," Lily muttered. "if you want to spend a day alone I can go..."
"Whatever man." Gajeel just shooed Lily, not thinking about his actions.
"Pfft...Why do I bother?" Lily just flew away towards the guild hall. Gajeel wrapped his arm around your shoulders and pulled you closer.
You were still kinda surprised that he would follow you and want to spend a day with you: just you and Gajeel.
You entered your house and face planted into the couch. You reached over to the tv controller, and turned on your lacrima tv. Gajeel just went to your room. He came back with three pillows and threw them at you.
"What the hell, Gajeel!" You took a pillow off your head.
"Is this what you do on your off days?" He yelled.
"Pretty much, yea!" You threw a pillow back at him.
You two started a full on pillow war. It kept up for a few minutes and then you stopped.
"I thought you came to hang out, not to murder me with pillows!" you laughed and threw another pillow at Gajeel.
"Yea, but you were doing nothing." Gajeel scoffed.
"Well, what do you wanna do?" You asked your boyfriend. He sat down next to you.
"I really don't know," He answered.
You sighed. It was 2:00 and there was nothing to do. You got up and headed to your room to grab a sketchbook. Gajeel obviously followed you. Before entering your room he noticed another room at the end of the corridor.
"Hey (Y/n), what is that room back there? The door is never open." he headed towards that room. You looked out your room and saw Gajeel slowly opening the door to the room. You stuck the pencil you were holding in your bun, and held the sketchbook close to your chest.
You haven't gone in that room for at least a good 5 years, and forgot what was in there.
"Hmm...I'm not sure." you walked to Gajeel as he opened the door.

The Cosmic Interloper
Synopsis: A cyborg transhuman escapes her corporate indenture and through unfathomably unlikely circumstances, she ends up in a fantasy world of full of unique magic, angry people with sharp implements, and the whole flavor-spectrum of divine entities. Hilarity ensues. Features: - No blue boxes or cultivation, this is not a LitRPG nor about martial arts - Hard-ish Sci-Fi meets hard-ish magic - Generally trying to keep this "rational" Rationale: My primary goal with The Cosmic Interloper is to write something that I myself would enjoy reading. Of course, that’s not the only motivation, but I think it’s the most important one for me to keep in mind, especially as the author. In fact, this whole story came about because after consuming oodles of fiction, I found myself craving a very specific type of story which I couldn’t find many examples of. Then I asked myself, “why not write it myself?” and here we are. Disclaimer: In general, while I’m not writing a comedy, I do intend for this story to be funny and a bit wacky or absurd. That said though, I am using this story as a vehicle to explore some potentially dark topics including (but not limited to) slavery, speciesism/racism, and existential questions of self, consciousness, and identity. Still, I’m going to leave the “traumatizing content” tags off, because I don’t feel that what I’ve written so far (or plan on writing) exceeds the threshold that would be necessary for me to tag it thusly. Also, [insert your favorite boilerplate “views expressed” disclaimer here]. I shouldn’t need to say this, but the main character can be wrong on occasion (gasp!) and the way she views the world is not the objective truth (if such a thing even exists).
