They decided to host the engagement party on Yo's birthday and they had exactly 5 days to plan everything. Yo was scurrying around planning decor and searching for the perfect ring while Pha was secretly preparing for his great surprise for Yo's birthday. Yo's parents weren't surprised when they announced their engagement, if fact they were waiting it except for Kit. He was the only one left out of the whole deal and went he came to know about it he threw a huge fit refusing to let his baby brother go. His father calmed him down by saying that they were only engaging and not marrying. For the topic of marriage, it was still very far away so Yo would still be with them.

Mr Panichayasawad refused to have the engagement party at Mr Kongthanin's house because that was where Pha's failed engagement was held. Therefore, they were going to host both Yo's birthday party and his engagement at his house. Everyone was helping out and soon all the planning was perfectly done, the media was in a frenzy and as planned Forth's scandal was really shadowed by the engagement of the country's most prominent heirs. It was also scandalous because this was the first time ever that such famous and prestigious families were openly supporting their gay sons and were looking forward to their engagement.

Following the news of Pha and Yo's relationship, many celebrities and well-known persona were coming out gay and declaring their love for each other. Thus, it can be said that this engagement has brought in great fortune, for even the Kongthanin company was flaring well. Everything was ready yet Yo still couldn't find his engagement ring.

"How about this one P'Pha?"

"Baby, that's the 12th ring you decided on so I can't give you my opinion anymore."

Yo sighed and turned to Pha pouting, "but they are all so beautiful. It's not my fault if I chose a ring but find another one more beautiful."

Pha ruffled his hair lovingly, "I know but tomorrow is our engagement and you still don't have a ring. What are you going to do if you will not find one by today?"

Yo gasped and turned back to the display.

"How about this one? Yes, it's perfect...ohh no the other one is perfect too!...wait, I think I found one more unique.."

"Let it be, I will find one for you. It's only fair because you chose mine."

Pha stepped beside him and started looking. Yo has indeed chose his ring but for himself, he couldn't decide. His eyes caught on a sparkling ring and he decided immediately that it belonged to Yo. He looked up and said confidently, "this one."

Yo looked at the ring he was pointing at and immediately fell in love with it. It was a golden ring encrusted with two big 4 big pink diamond and a black rock in the middle forming a square design. It also matched with Pha's golden ring which was also square but was encrusted with only white rock.

"Woahhh P'Pha, you have such a good eye." Yo admired it openly, unable to take his eyes off it. Pha kissed him on his cheek as the shop manager looked on smilling from cheek to cheek. They have just purchased the most expensive and unique ring of his shop. Yo then went back home to check on everything while Pha went to check on his surprise. He wanted it set up before the engagement so that he can surprise Yo immediately after getting engaged officially. Mr and Mrs Panichayasawad were more worried about what to get Yo for his birthday than for the engagement plans. They were already throwing him a huge party but it was on occasion of his birthday, therefore they had to get him something else.

The next morning everyone was in a hurry running here and there. For the engagement of the decade, everything should be perfect since there would be many reporters and influential people from all over the world. Pha stopped by early morning to give Yo his suit and to also wished him for his birthday. Despite the engagement rush, everyone still remembered that it was actually his birthday and they all enjoyed a lavish breakfast to start his birthday morning.

All too soon it was already evening and guests were starting to make their appearance known in designer gowns and the sharpest of suits. Yo was beside his parents at the entrance to greet the guests when Pha came along with his family. Everyone turned to watch as the future-in-laws greeted each other warmly, the reporters were snapping pictures away restlessly. There was no doubt that these pictures would in the front cover of every news paper in the country by tomorrow.

Yo had eyes only for Pha, his future husband was looking too good-looking for his own good. They were both wearing suits from the same designer, it was almost the same except for small details but it looked more handsome on Pha than Yo. As for him, he was looking more on the cute side with his non-stop smile throughout the evening radiating his happiness which rendered his fluffy cheeks red. Nonetheless, for everyone's surprise even Pha was glowing with happiness. He was the complete opposite from his previous engagement, his parents has never seen him smiled so much like he did that night. Everyone was smiling and chatting except for Forth, he was more non-approchable than he has ever been. Now that Pha has found the love of his life and was more alive, they were joking about him passing on his coldness to Forth, thus making him twice colder.

"Don't disappear like the last time, the first time was humiliating enough, I don't think I will survive a second time." Phana's father warned him in a low whisper as they entered the Panichayasawad's residence but it was unnecessary. Pha didn't have any intention of leaving Yo anytime soon.

"If you knew with whom I was that night then you wouldn't be so worried." Pha replied back in a mocking voice before going directly to Yo and kissing him hard in front of everyone. Gasps could be heard around as the guests looked on surprised. As the evening progressed, there was no doubt about Pha and Yo's relationship. Pha remained stuck by his side for the whole duration and he would often steal kisses from him regardless of the others watching. Their love was shining through and everyone was reassured that they were indeed in love and this engagement wasn't only a business deal to advance the Kongthanin Enterprise.

"Ok everyone, please gather around so that we can have the pleasure of seeing our couple of the night passing on the rings." Mr Panichayasawad announced and everyone gathered in a semi circle for the highlight of the night.

He went to stand by Yo's side and Mr Kongthanin went to stand by Phana's side.

"I know that you already know about them but let me officially introduce them to you all. This is my son Wayo and his soon to be fiancé Phana Kongthanin. Pleased bring the ring forward so that they can seal their promises to each other and show the world that they are now happily taken."

Huge round of applause resonated around as Kayla came forward with Yo's ring nestled a small, black satin pillowcase and Kit stepped to Yo's side with Phana's ring nestled on the same marching holder. All the guests watched in anticipation as Pha took the ring and brought it to Yo's hand in slow motion. The photographers were too busy to take their eyes off the lenses of their cameras as Pha slowly slid it onto his slim finger. Applause rang out again and he smiled a huge brilliant smile that was never seen before. Yo was transfixed by his face until Kit nudged him on the side bringing him out of his reverie. Blushing, he realised that everyone was waiting for him. Hurriedly he took the ring and put it on Pha's finger in a nanosecond.

"Well that wasn't quick enough buddy." Ming teased him loudly and Kit poked him hard on his side, "don't you dare tease him on his day."

Ming groaned painfully as everyone started laughing merrily. Next, non-alcoholic champagne was brought in and both Pha and Yo opened a bottle. As they were making each other sipping the drink, loud birthday music started playing and a gigantic 5-tier dark chocolate cake was being rolled in by 3 waiters.

"I know it's your engagement son but I didn't forget that it's your birthday also." Mr Panichayasawad said affectionately as he hugged his son close to him.

"Thank you dad, I love you." Yo squealed happily as the cake came to a stop in front of him and Kit trust an elaborate, gleaming knife in his hand. He blew the 22 candles after making his wish then cut out a large piece of his cake to stuff into his own mouth.

They chuckled at his childish behaviour as one by one they came in to congratulate him and to hand him his gift.

"I will give your gift later." Pha whispered into his ears and Yo turned to smile warmly at him.

"I can't wait to see what you have reserved for me."

"Hey I'm in front of you and you're ignoring me!' Ming whined as he waved his hand in front of Yo.

"Ohh sorry I was having a little conversation with my fiancé."

"So you're glorifying your brand new relationship in front of my single self now? Don't trouble yourself, I'm not stupid like you to get hooked."

Yo fake glare at him but Pha glowered menacing at him.

"Woahhh, I was only joking. Geez, your new fiancé really don't know how to take a joke Yo. Anyway, here's your gift."

"He already went to Disneyland a gazillion time, what a rotten gift." Kit muttered dryly beside him as he peeked at Yo's gift. Ming narrowed his eyes and glared at him from side way, "doesn't matter, he still gets excited like a five years old. Look at him, so happy. It's definitely a brilliant gift."

Indeed, Yo was very happy and hugged Ming, "thank you buddy. You always know what to get for me."

Pha looked at the tickets and asked Ming, "two tickets, does that mean one is for me?"

"Of course, it's an engagement and birthday gift mixed in one. I take it you never went to Disneyland right?"

Pha shook his head hesitatingly and Ming exclaimed, "I knew it, this is a perfect opportunity for you then. You both go and enjoy to the maximum."

Kit's dry voice reached them once again, "what a miser."

Ming rolled his eyes and swirled to glare at him, "I'm not a miser, it's called hitting two birds with one stone."

They continued to bicker in the background as Pha tugged Yo to the dance floor. They slow danced for the first five minutes then a hip hop song came was out in full bang. Many cheered as they get on the dance floor to shake their hips. The lights were turned off and disco lights were soon bouncing on them. Pha glanced around before dragging Yo away with him.

"Where are we going P'Pha? It's our engagement, we can't leave just like this."

Pha swirled to him and asked, "I want to show you your gift, do you want to see it tonight? If you don't want to leave then I can bring you there tomorrow."

Yo bit his lips as he hesitated for a second but then he shook his head and said, "led the way."

They walked hand in hand to Pha's car and he drove away leaving the party in full mode behind. It was not a long drive, only 15 minutes from Yo's house. Yo watched on keenly as Pha drove on leaving the busy street behind and entered a lone one way road. Despite being so close to his house, he has never entered this part of the city. It was a very renowned place with big villas sold only to the richest and to those who wants a quiet retry. There were large trees adorning the road and occasionally the top of a beautiful house could be seen amidst the huge gates, long walls and greeneries.

"Why are you taking me here P'Pha?"

"You will see." He answered mysterious as he stared forward and continued driving.

He finally stopped in front of a beautiful and cute cottage. It was small with only one story but it was so breathtaking that Yo missed Pha leaving the car and coming to his side to open his door. He got out still staring at the house in front of him and followed behind meekly as Pha opened the gate and let him enter. There was huge trees on each side of the house and a small swimming pool in front. He glanced at Pha and saw that he was looking at him intensely. He blushed under his gaze as Pha indicated with his head to follow him.

Yo walked slowly behind still admiring the perfect house when he suddenly stumbled to a stop. They were at the back and flowers of all colours were beautifying the garden. It was absolutely perfect, there was a small veranda filled with flower pots hanging from the top and huge pots were at the corners. In the middle was an authentic outside sofa set which looked really comfortable. He took a sharp breath as he stared deeper into the garden, there was a small fountain leading to a fish pond filled with goldfish. The most stunning detail about the garden was that it was fully lightened by ladens hanging from trees branches and every single plant was decorated with ornamental lights.

He looked and walked around in a daze as he explored deeper. The garden was easily two times bigger than the house and at every corner there was a wonder to discover. Lights radiated everywhere and he stopped to admire the second fish pond, except this time there were two small turtles swimming in. He glanced around and noticed one part of the garden shining brighter than the rest of the garden. Walking curiously towards it, he halted to a stop and his mouth fell open.

Pha was standing in front of a huge lightened display with a big black and red rose bouquet in his hand. He dropped to one knee, extended the bouquet towards him and asked the question flashing brightly behind him.

"Will you marry me?"

Yo's eyes instantly filled with tears. He ran towards him and dropped down to his knees in front of him.

"Of course I will, you can't ever get rid of me and I have your ring in my hand to prove it."

Pha wiped his cheeks gently with his thumb as he cubed his cheek in one hand, "this is the surprise that I was preparing for you since the start of this month. I want to tell that even through we got engaged in a haste and it was somehow of a business deal, please know that my feelings aren't fake and I was intending to propose to you all along. I was going to do so earlier but then I thought about waiting until your birthday. Unfortunately, a lot happened and I couldn't proposed properly."

"It doesn't matter P'Pha, I know your heart and I know that you didn't get engaged to me under pressure. And...this is so perfect. Thank you for all of this."

Pha gave him a soft kiss then he searched into his pocket before taking out a set of keys.

"What is this?"

"Since I have already given you a ring this evening, I am giving you this." He opened Yo's hand and put the keys on his palm, "happy birthday baby."

Yo looked at him quizzically until he got it. He blinked then looked back and forth between the house and him.

Pha nodded, "this is our house. If you want we can stay here after our marriage or we can buy another one of your choice."

Yo shook his head quickly, "no P'Pha, this house is perfect and I will gladly live here with you for the rest of our life."

He threw himself at him tearfully and Pha caught him hugging him tight. They stayed like this for a long moment, savoring the sweet romantic feel of the proposal.

At the Panichayasawad's residence

"Where the hell did they disappeared to?!" Mr Panichayasawad cried in frustration as he dialled his son's number again but he wasn't picking up. He next tried Pha's cellphone without any luck.

"There are clearly with each other so don't worry dad." Kit tried to console him as Mr Kongthanin sighed a bit far away and muttered under his breath, "not again."

"Be glad that he disappeared with his fiancé, there will be no misunderstanding this time." His wife pointed out.

"And after his engagement, that's the most important part. At least he was present and got happily engaged." Kayla added. Forth was standing quietly beside them like usual, a deep brooding look on his face.

Mr Panichayasawad groaned as he looked at the time, "my son won't be able to see his birthday gift. It's almost time."

"We have no option, the guests are waiting." His wife urged him and he nodded resigned. He signalled to his men to set the off the firework that had he planned for his son. It was supposed to be the perfect finish to his engagement/birthday party.

As the sky lightened up with the bright colours he murmured miserably under his breath, "there goes my 500,000 baht for nothing."

A little far away

"Oh my god, look P'Pha, fireworks." Yo pointed with his finger as the sky light up.

"Just in time for your birthday's ending." Pha replied as they lay on their back. They were still in the garden, Pha had a blanket ready and they made hot and slow love under the shining stars. Yo was just about to fall asleep when he noticed the fireworks.

"So we are really going to get married?" Yo asked dreamingly as he stared at the display.

"We are, we just have to tell our parents now."

The next morning they woke up early and Pha drove Yo home. They walked in hand in hand into the kitchen where everyone was having breakfast. Yo smiled gleefully when he noticed a plate filled with his birthday cake on the table.

"Goodnight everyone,"he shouted brightly as he took his seat, Pha beside him.

"Where were you last night?" His father asked grumpily.

Yo paused and opened his mouth but Pha beat him to it, "I'm sorry, it's my fault, I took him away but I had a good reason to do so. I wanted to show him his engagement and birthday gift."

Before he could continue Yo bursted it out excitingly, "he got me a house dad and he even proposed to me. Now we are going to get married and stay into our perfect little home."

There was a deafening silence then Mr Panichayasawad asked in a tightly controlled voice, "and when are you going to start living there with him?"

"Probably by next month."

Kit started choking as his mother went pale. His father froze and stared at them wide-eyed for a few seconds before he stood up abruptly and lost control.

"There is no way in hell I'm going to let you marry my baby boy next month or anytime soon during the next 10 years!"

But don't blame me, blame 'a Korean odyssey'. I watched one epi and got hooked so I binge watched it on the special hours I was supposed to be writing.
