He walked in, holding a flower.

'Mornin' babe.'

Bubbles touched her head briefly, feeling a scar building up as she sat up in the dirty sheets.

'I'm so sorry. You know I get a little crazy sometimes when I'm drunk. I love you.' He said as he sat down next to her. She flashed a quick smile, taking the flower.

'It's okay.' She hugged him tightly, a tear rolled down her cheek from her dry eyes.

'Too happy?'

'Yeah.'

As if. She gave a forced chuckle before she parted their hug. He knelt down, level with her, 'Babe, I know I get a little physical and controlling, but because I love you so so much, I'm giving you a reward.'

A reward? That's new.

She tilted her head in confusion, 'I'm going to let you out for 4 hours per day. You can do whatever you like, and buy stuff. See?'He said, handing her a messy wad of cash.

Was he high?

Then he pulled her by her ear, like she was some doll. 'But I swear to god, if.you make a peep about me I will find you. And don't even think about going to the police, as if they will believe you anyway. You don't think I'm a bad guy right? I promise you I'll change baby, I promise, for you. I'd do anything.'

Soon. she was out the door, obviously knowing that this was just a stupid trick so he could fuck some girls without her seeing, and she really thought he might have taken a turn for the better.

The sun sat uncomfortably on her face, it looked odd. Was it always that big? What would she even do outside? No one would take to her anyway, she looked poor, even homeless, unapproachable for the people who lived in this area.

She roamed around, watching people as they walked past her, shooting glares and muttering between themselves. She looked out of place, like she didn't belong there with them. She took long stares at what people were wearing but she still wondered if the sun always shone this bright on the city at all.

She found herself at the nearby park, the perfect place to look at people without seeming weird. She looked around her, what a spacious place this was, compared to the crammed flat Jack kept her in in his luxurious mansion.

She looked around to a lady, who looked very prim and proper, sitting on another bench, reading a newspaper. She imitated her, sitting on the bench as she held her head high, she put her legs together, and pointed her toes downwards towards the paved ground. She widened her tired eyes, and putting on a smile.

'Miss?'

She was so distracted that could barely hear that someone was speaking to her. She turned around to see Boomer, standing above her.

They went way back, he was her counterpart after all. They even dated for a while, until he broke it off, but they continued being friends either way. Until she started going out with Jack, he warned her, he was the first to do so. She stood up abruptly from the happiness of seeing him after so long.

'B-boomer?' She mumbled, staring at him in disbelief.

'Sorry miss, do I know you?' He replied, looking the girl before him up and down, did he know her at all?

'Yes! Of course! It's me! Don't you recognise me?' Bubbles cried, her voice, seemed so familiar, but he didn't recall knowing anyone who could be in this position at all.

Boomer just stood there and looked at her, trying to work out who she was.

'It's me, Bubbles!' The girl cried.

'Bubbles? You must be joking! The amazing gorgeous girl who is my best friend? You're joking right?' Boomer hummed, he grinned, he was joking, but Bubbles hadn't read normal human emotions for a long time now, so she assumed he didn't actually recognise her.

'Wait, you don't think I'm her?'

'I'm kidding! I haven't seen you in so long, I knew it was you when you started speaking!' They hugged, and for once in a while, Bubbles didn't feel obliged to hug someone.

'How's life been?' Boomer asked, taking a seat next to her, his eyes kept scanning the park back and forth, so Bubbles thought he wasn't really paying attention to her.

She could say anything right? She could most definitely trust him.

Right?

He her best friend after all.
