《The Hewitts: Texas chainsaw massacre》Uncertain dangers

From above, you could hear car doors slamming. Two sets. Thomas gave a small whine. You turned to him and laid a hand on his hand. He looked up at you and gave a nod. You knew he was worried. You were to. The only thing either of you could do was just sit and be quiet.
You could hear the loud knocking on the door, followed by Luda's footsteps crossing above your heads. When the door opened you heard Hoyt's voice speak first, followed by b/n's voice. Finally Luda spoke. There was silence for a moment and then three sets of footsteps broke out.
You turned to Thomas. He looked tired. You gave him a sympathetic look. Maybe if you just hadn't opened that damn door, maybe you and Thomas could be relaxing right now. You felt guilty for the first time in a while.
You looked at Thomas for a moment before you leaned up against him, laying your head in his shoulder. He looked down at you and tilted his head, laying it against yours. He understood. Maybe he wasn't so good at stuff like this all the time, but today was just one if those days where he knew exactly what to do and when to do it.
If fact, Thomas moved his arm out from under you and wrapped in around you. You closed your eyes and let out a sigh. You were gonna be here for a while so you might as well get comfortable. Thomas then leaned back, leaning until his back his the wall. You went with him until you sat up.
He looked at you a little confused before you turned back to him. You waved to him and he sat up again. You paused a minute, listening to the floor above you. They were still talking in some room. Possibly the kitchen or the living room. You turned back to him, whispering.

"Take your apron off. We're gonna be down here a while so..."
Thomas shrugged and stood up. He reached around the back and untied it before pulling it over his head. Thomas threw it over into the desk and looked back at you.
You nodded to him and he came back over. You stopped a minute before you pulled off your boots and moved back further into the bed. Thomas did the same and sat down again. This time he moved back further and laid down with his back facing the wall. You shrugged to yourself. 'Fuck it.'
You looked at Thomas for a moment and then laid down besides him. You sighed and closed your eyes, listening to the talking upstairs. It slowly faded into white noise as you fell asleep.
Thomas had waited until you fell asleep before he decided he might too. He knew you were safe and that was good to him. He laid an arm over you and dug his face into some of your hair. He loved the smell and softness of it. He slowly drifted off as well, not paying any mind to the pacing upstairs.

B/n paced the floor in a fluster. There was no way. The sheriff and the woman were crazy. He had seen her. He had seen him. He had felt the anger of the man as he threw him onto the floor. He had heard her voice. It was her. But now it all seemed like an illusion.
"I saw her. She was here, in this house."
The sheriff was getting a little impatient.
"Look son, there's no one here. You even sought that out yourself."
"No. I don't believe it."
"Well I can't tell you what to believe."

"I want to see it. The truck."
"Alright, follow me."
The sheriff got up and walked out the front door with b/n following right behind. He had to see the truck it was the only way. He followed him to an old barn. The sheriff pulled open the large door and stopped.
"Well, there it is. Happy now?"
B/n couldn't believe it was even her truck. The windows were smashed out, the bumper hung off at the corner of the frame, one of the mirriors hung off, the truck had multiple dents and the windshield had a huge hole in it.
The part that got him was that blood outlined the hole in the windsheild. He turned back to the sheriff. He shook his head.
"Now tell me son, how do you expect somebody to live through that?"
"I-I don't..."
"Exactly, now can we just finish this?"
"No, not until I find her! I know she's here somewhere."
The sheriff remained silent for a moment.
"I think it's time you left."
"What? No, you can't do that!"
"Yes I can, now get off this property before I arrest you for trespassing."
"Trespassing? I'm not trespassing!"
"If you don't leave you will be!"
"I'm not leaving until I find her, damn it! I know she's here, where are you hiding her?!"
Hoyt had had enough of this. He pulled out his pistol and aimed it straight at him.
"I suggest you leave before you can't."
"Are you fucking crazy?! What is wrong with you?!"
"There ain't nothin' wrong with me. Now get out, boy. I'm not gonna give you another warning."
"Fine then, shoot me, you asshole!"
Hoyt glared and pulled back the hammer.
"I'm warning you, boy."
"C'mon do it. DO IT!"
Hoyt had had enough of this. He knew that the kid would just come back again. He wouldn't let it go and that was putting his family in danger. He had to stop that. Even if it meant eradicating the problem.
"DO IT!!!"
"Fine, you fucker."
Hoyt pulled the trigger.
