《The Hewitts: Texas chainsaw massacre》Ain't so bad after all

Thomas just shrugged and looked around the room. You nodded and bit your lip, looking away to the side.
"Okay...well, that's nice."
Thomas gave you a strange look. This was turning very awkward really fast and neither of you liked it too much. You didn't really know what to say to him. He didn't talk much...well, he didn't talk at all and you didn't know how to start a conversation with him.
Thomas tried to think of things to tell you. Even if he wasn't exactly saying anything, she still had a decent understanding of what he would've said and he liked that. Most of the time he just followed orders and agreed to what they said but she would ask him things that he could actually answer by himself.
He looked around. There wasn't much to show her but he did have an idea. He looked down at her and grunted. You looked up quickly as he nodded towards the ceiling and pointed.
"You wanna go up?"
He grunted and nodded, grabbing your wrist and started pulling you up the stairs. When they reached the top, Thomas carefully opened the door, checking to see if anyone was around. Seeing nobody, he crept out of the basement, slowly towing you behind.
Thomas stopped in the hallway before turning around and heading to the kitchen. He crossed the room and slowly opened the back door, trying to make as less noise as possible.
Outside he let go of your wrist. You wondered why they just hadn't used the front doors but whatever works, works, I guess. Thomas started heading towards the direction of the barn. You hesitated before trotting up to his side.
You headed straight for the barn door and had even begun to turn the handle when Thomas grabbed your wrist again. This time it was rough and he glared at you. Thomas gave a deep, loud grunt and shook his head. You let go of the handle quickly and stared up at him wide eyed. He gave a single nod before pulling you away from the barn and over to a tall grass field.

You two wondered through the high grass for awhile before Thomas stopped and looked around. He nodded to himself and began to sit down. He had picked one of the nicer areas to sit but he knew he could've found a better one.
You watched him as he sat down in the tall grass. He looked up at you and grunted. You tilted your head and took a step closer.
He patted the ground beside him, telling you to sit down. You took a few more steps and slowly sat down hesitating a little bit.
You looked at Thomas who was staring at the sky. You looked up as well and was taken back.
The sky was crystal clear without any clouds. The moon was full and the stars covered the open space. Some of the stars stood out more than others. Some just sat there, acting as a filler. The whole seen sent a gleaming light down on the feild, making the grass look a darker blue. The moonlight lit up your skin, giving it a strange pale blue look to it. The whole seen seemed to catch your full attention.
Thomas glanced over to you to see your full attention on the sky. He smiled to himself. He knew you'd like it, especially after that night he had caught you staring at it. Maybe he would actually be able to get to know you better now that he found something you liked.
"It's nice ain't it?"
Thomas looked at you and nodded. You nodded back and turned back to the sky. You sighed and leaned back, letting the grass enclose you. Thomas looked down at You before also laying back. You thought of your place back home. Back there there wasn't nearly enough space to see this far. Neighboring house roofs usually blocked the sky when you tried to lay down and just watch it.

You wondered about home. 'Did b/n get out of Austin yet? Did he tell my parents? What do they think? Do they miss me? What if i come home one day?' You paused at a last thought froze your heart. 'Will I ever make it home?' You still stared up at the sky, unblinking as this ran through your head.
You glanced over at Thomas who had shut his eyes. His breathing was slow and he seemed relaxed. The more you watched him the more you began to think about him. You tilted your head at him, letting a bunch of questions pop up in your head.
'Why doesn't he talk? Why does he wear that muzzle? What's under it? Will he show me? Why did he want to keep me around? Why did he want to bring me out here? Blah, blah, blah...'
You stared to get tired and soon you found it hard to stay awake. Your eyes fought to stay open as they started to droop. Finally, giving in you fell asleep in the field.
Some time later you shifted in your sleep. Something felt off. You opened your eyes somewhat to see you had made it back to your room, in your bed. Thomas, however, wasn't there this time. You smiled a bit and rolled over.
'Maybe he ain't so bad...'
You dug your face into your pillow and fell asleep again.

The Emperor's Concubine
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] The heroine is good and the villainess is evil. That was the absolute truth. That rule was undeniable as well as the fact that only the heroine would receive true love and her happy ending. Likewise, the malicious villainess would always suffer and leave the stage to clear the path for the perfect heroine in the end. So, for Blanche it felt like her world came crashing around her when she remembered the truth about her life. As the villainess in the typical romance novel “To Be Empress” she was fated to be condemned and abandoned by her lover. No matter how devoted she was to Theodore Estien, the emperor of Artias, she would only be the bratty concubine that would obstruct the heroine, who happened to be Theodore's lawful wife and the empress. In the end, the villainess would be deserted and executed. It was destined to happen like this, and yet she couldn't give up. She had to change the future. Preventing the romance between the main characters would get her killed. Much like trying to steer away from the enemies' intrigues, in which she was already caught up, would. But neither the heroine nor the emperor's political rivals would change the fact that Blanche loved the man that was supposed to be the heroine's. And no matter what happened she would always stay by her lover's side. So she wouldn't just follow the book's storyline and let her own doom arrive. Blanche would survive while trying to suppress all of the selfish desires that had made her the villainess. But was she truly fine with that? Did she not desire more than just surviving? Did she even have the right? Could the villainess ask for a happy end? Was she too brazen if she just wanted to stay with the man she loved and receive his affection? And wasn't there a bit more to this novel than she remembered? She didn't know and in the end that mattered little when the world around her changed with each day as more and more questions about the future and the past arose. "The Emperor's Concubine" will be updated thrice a week (usually on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays) *The Profanity tag was added due to the characters' occasional swearing, which should not happen too often.
