《The Hewitts: Texas chainsaw massacre》The choice

"Thomas, get yer ass up here now !"
Thomas sat rigid as he looked to the staircase and back to you. He sat there for a moment looking at you, not sure if he should leave you. Once again he was called.
"THOMAS"
This time footsteps crossed the floor above you in a angry pace. The door slammed against the wall as it opened. Thomas whipped around as you looked over his shoulder to see the same man from the gas station...
'Hoyt...'
"God damn it boy, are you deaf?!?"
He paused and looked over Thomas's shoulder to see you. He crossed his arms glaring at you. Suddenly an smug grin crossed his face. Thomas stared at Hoyt while standing up.
"Get upstairs boy."
Thomas looked behind at you then walked away, passed Hoyt and up the rest of the stairs. Thomas didn't even give you a passing glance as he left.
As you heard the door shut you looked back to Hoyt. He stood there with a grin plastered on his face. You slowly stood up wincing as your stitches pulled again. Hoyt seemed to notice that and his smile grew even wider.
"Tommy get ya, did he?"
You said nothing but looked down at your leg. Hoyt laughed to himself.
"What do you want with me?"
You growled, glaring at him now. Hoyt looked unamused as he shrugged.
"Well. We can dicuss thay later but for now we need to have a little talk. I'm gonna give ya two choices, and you'd better make sure you listen to me now."
You continued to glare at him but nodded.
"Good. Now..."
He paused to make sure the door upstairs was shut.
"It seems that the boy wants to keep you around for whatever reason and after discussing it with Luda up there, we decided to give you a chance. So one, you either join this family and become one of us, or two, you become Tommy's next face. I suggest you pick wisely, girl."

You looked at the ground quickly. What much of a choice was that ? Either join them or become his face? What the fuck did that mean?! You had to pick. You sighed and looked up.
"Family."
Hoyt smiled and uncrossed his arms.
"Good job, girly. You just saved your ass. Now dinners almost done so get up here. You can meet the others."
You glared and started hobbling up the steps. As you passed Hoyt he gave you another grin. You hobbled up the rest of the stairs and into a hallway.
Hoyt came up right behind you a pointed to a side door that was to your right. You hobbled over to the door before opening it. You looked in to see a large dining room. In the middle was a large table. It had a lace table cloth, candles, and plates with silverware sitting on it.
"Sit."
Hoyt pushed you into one of the end chairs so that you sat at the foot of the table. He slowly passed around you and went through another door that was directly across from the head of the table.
Once the door shut you breathed in relief. The room was quiet and lightly lit. It gave off a look of beauty but an erie feeling came over the room as well.
You sat there looking around the room until you heard someone enter behind you. They slowly stalked behind you. You watched them as they slowly came around your right side. It was him. The man from before. The one they called Thomas ?
As he came over to the table he stared at you. He presence send chills through you. Down in the basement you hadn't noticed how big he really was. He had to be at least 6'5 and 250 pounds, however, he didn't seem to be all weight. He actually looked to be very muscular.

You didn't want to stare back so you just kinda looked at your lap. He sat down at the closest chair to your right. Every once in a while you would notice his head move as if he were trying figure you out.
It wasn't long until Hoyt and an older woman came in. The woman had a platter of food. It smelled great. She sat it down and smiled at you.
"Well now, who's this young lady?"
Thomas watched you. You glanced at him before giving a small smile.
"I'm y/n, ma'am. Y/n L/n."
She looked sideways at you.
"L/n...huh. Never heard that name before, you from around here?"
"No ma'am. I'm from t/n."
She nodded, sitting down in the chair next to Thomas. Thomas continued to stare, focusing on everything you said.
"So, if you don't mind me asking, why are you down here?"
"I was on my way to Austin, to pick up my brother. He missed his flight and I was the only one able to pick him up..."
Luda nodded looking over at Hoyt. Just then another man came in. He was an older man with glasses and a grayish-blue button up shirt. He sat down at the left side of you, but in the chair closer to Hoyt.
"There you are, what took you so long?"
"Oh nothin. Damn hook didn't want latch on right."
"But it's here now right?"
"Yeah."
"In the barn?"
"Yeah."
"Good."
You knew they were talking about your truck. That was the only thing that had been around for miles. And besides even if it wasn't what would they hide it in the barn?
Hoyt looked down the length of the table and raised an eyebrow.
"Well, shit. It seems I've forgot my manners. Y/n this is Luda Mae, and this is Monty. She'll be staying with us for now on."
"Glad to have her. She's as pretty as the wildflowers that grow in the fields."
You gave a small smile at Luda.
"Thank you, ma'am."
Luda smiled at you and nodded. Hoyt cleared his throat and looked around.
"Who's hungry ?"

The Stormcrow Cycle
Once a powerful and lauded witch, Ba'an salu-Ba'an now lives alone in a cave in the desert, waiting to die. When she rescues an outlander from certain death she becomes embroiled in a deadly game of politics and empire, of heart and soul, but worst of all--of hope and love and a chance at a peaceful future. Can a disgraced witch find a reason to live her life again--and if so, what price must she pay? The Stormcrow Cycle is a trilogy comprising of The Exile, The Lion, and Abomination. Tags or genres for each book: The Exile: romance, slice-of-life The Lion: romance, slice-of-life, politics Abomination: tragedy, high/epic fantasy (aka "Everything is on fire!") Updates once a week whenever I have time. Cross-posted on Wattpad and Scribble Hub. The CBMokedi cover will return! Excerpt: She looked down at him again. Young. Healthy, from what she could see, except for the wound that was killing him. He was handsome in a way that suggested a life of wealth and plenty. She did not think he had ever starved. Someone important. Her shadow fell across him, and he frowned. Blearily, he opened his eyes. They were amber and bright, even as he lay dying in the dirt. She could feel his soul, blazing inside of him like a fire refusing to die even as his body began to fail. He met her gaze, eyes widening in what she guessed was surprise—or shock. But he never looked away, staring up at her as though transfixed. Ba’an made her decision. She raised her hand and covered his eyes. In another moment, a murder of crows cawed as they took wing. The man and woman were gone from the road, leaving only the dead staring up into the sky. Note: This is a high-fantasy set in a low-magic world. The first book is largely character-driven and we really only hit the real plot in Book II, so if you're not fond of long epic yarns you ought to skip this one. I also don't include trigger warnings, but mind the "traumatizing content" tag--all societies minus one practice slavery and the world is indeed, rather grim!
