《I hate politics》Snow Day

"If we had a snow day"
"Wake up!" Jack yelled as he jumped on you and Aaron on the bed.
"What happened hon?" You opened your eyes to see the big smile on his face.
"All the snow, there's so much!" He exclaimed. Rubbing your eyes you sat up.
With all the yelling and jumping Aaron still hadn't woken up. You grab a hold on his shoulder and shake him. He groaned and turned his head.
"Dad, can we go make snow angels?" He asked his father.
"Of course we can, go put on your jacket." He said. Jack wasted no time, he jumped off the bed and ran back to his room. "Looks like we got that snow day." Aaron said and kissed you before getting out of the bed.
Still sitting in the bed you smiled to yourself. You were gonna go outside to make snow angels with your Aaron and Jack. There wasn't anything else you could ask for. Well maybe some coffee because it was 8:30.
From where you were sitting you could see Jack putting on his snow boots. When he got them on he ran over cause he needed help zipping up his jacket. His gloves were too thick for him to do. You swung your legs to the side of the bed and helped up zip it.
He walked over to his dad watching him brush his teeth. He kid jumped on his feet while waiting. When he finally finished. He threw on some joggers and put his jacket on.
"You coming?" He asked before walking out of his room.
"Yeah." You got out of bed and went into the bathroom. When you were brushing your teeth you heard the front door close.
While swishing mouthwash around you fixed your hair. When you were finished you threw your jacket and boots on. While putting your gloves on you opened the door. Right before you stepped out of the house you threw on a scarf for good measure.
Before you had the chance to comment on the amount of snow. There was a snowball thrown at you. You look out to see Aaron making snowballs and handing them to Jack. You were quick to bend down and grab a hand full of snow. You pressed it together and wasted no time throwing straight to Aarons chest. You could hear Jacks laugh.
He quickly left his dad's side and ran over to you. You bent down to grab some more snow, pressing it together you handed it to Jack and he threw it at his dad's legs. Aaron stumbled back like it hit him hard. It was just a matter of time till Aaron started throwing snowballs at the two of you. Jack used you as a shield.

He started getting tired from bending down. Jack popped his head out from behind you. When he realized had stopped throwing them, he jumped into the snow. He started moving his arms and legs creating a snow angel. With no hesitation you plopped down next to him and started moving your arms and legs. Your limbs started to feel numb. You struggled to get up from the snow. That when you saw a hand appear above you. You took his hand and he helped you on where you assumed the sidewalk was. He held you tight so you wouldn't fall back down. You had no idea how his hands weren't cold.
"How are you not cold?" You asked. Taking off your gloves to see that his cheeks were still warm.
"I'm warm blooded." He shrugged.
"All humans are warm blooded." You said matter-of-factly. When you turned back to face Jack he showed no sign of leaving the snow. These were the moments you lived for. The small things are what made you smile.
"So what else would you like to do on our magical snow day?" He asked and wrapped his arms around your front.
"Umm," You thought about what else could make this day even more perfect. "We'll definitely have hot chocolate because you can't go wrong with hot chocolate. A movie."
"Of course." He said and kissed your cheek. He walked over to help Jack out of the snow. You watched as they started to build a snowman.
Aaron started rolling a big ball of snow for the base. Jack was next to him pushing with all his might. They finally stopped in the middle of the front yard. They smoothed off the edges and repeated the process for the second time.
"Are you just gonna watch or are you gonna help?" Aaron asked from across the yard. With that you put your glove back on and stood on the other side of Jack. All three of you started pushing. When Jack was satisfied with the size of the snowball Aaron lifted it up and put it on top of the other.
You took the liberty of smoothing the edges while they finished the top tear. The head of the snowman came back with two rocks for eyes and a twig for a smile. You lifted Jack off his feet so he could place the head on top.
"Looks good." Jack said when you put him back down.
"It does, good job." You gave him a high five and looked back to the snowman. You looked back at the and he seemed empty. You took off your scarf and wrapped it around the snowman.
"Oh so now I don't exist." Aaron threw his arms out in offense.
"Good job!" Jack reached his arms out to give his dad a high five. Aaron picked him up and gave him the biggest hug you'd ever seen him give a person.

You could feel your heart skip a beat. You wrapped your arms around yourself. After everything that's happened in the past year- you needed this. Just a day to enjoy the life you have.
God it's only been a year.
It feels like it's been so many more. Time flew by, you could tell if it was from be away for weeks at a time. Maybe being beaten half to death by a cult leader. Or it was from Aaron being gone for 7 months. Who knows. All that matters is that everyone is here now. Emily's isn't dead, Aaron's not dead, you're not dead.
This job was so crazy that you needed a day like this to just breathe. Slow down for a second. In the field of you slow down you could die and there wouldn't be days like this anymore. No more waking up with Jack jumping on the bed excited for the day ahead.
"You ok?" Aaron asked as he walked up to you.
"Yeah." You smiled and looked down to your feet. He lifted your chin up so your eyes were on his. "I'm fine." You reassured him.
"You were in your thoughts for a while there." His hand fell to your arm.
"Stop watching me." You smiled and raised your eyebrows. You watched as the smile creeped into his face. You leaned in close enough to feel the warmth radiate from him. Leaning in closer you kissed his lips. You could easily melt into his arms but it was too cold for that.
~~~~~
After taking a warm shower you threw on some joggers and one of Aaron's sweaters you stole a while ago. It was more yours then his- you did wear it more than he did.
Jack was set on building a fort with the couch cushions and blankets. He also wanted to watch The Incredibles. It has been on your list of movies to watch for awhile. Today was the perfect day to watch them.
You started on making hot chocolate as Aaron and Jack constructed the fort. You watched as they tried to find the right place to put the pillows so they didn't fall. They threw a blanket between the dining room chairs as a mask shift ceiling. When you walked over hot chocolate mugs in hand they were just putting finishing touches together. Pillows and blankets covered the floor.
"It looks cozy in here." You placed the cup on the coffee table. You ducked your head down to see Jack's smiling face. Aaron was slouching so his head wasn't hitting the blanket.
"Comfortable?" You asked him and rubbed your hand on his leg. All he did was nod his head. He did care that he was uncomfortable as long as Jack was happy, he was happy. Jack had informed you that you had forgotten the marshmallows so he went to go get them.
"Have I told you how amazing you are lately?" You asked and scooted closer to him. He peeks his head out of the fort to make sure Jack was still gone before he leaned closer to your ear.
"The first time you said that," He kissed your neck. "It was the first time we slept together." He kissed your collarbone.
"Mmm, I remember." You said and rested your hand on the base of his neck. He kissed his way back up your neck and to your lips. He licked your bottom lip to ask if he couldn't keep going. Before he had a chance to go any further you heard little footsteps. You pull away from him and move back to where you once were. Jack threw a handful of mini marshmallows into his cup and handed the bag to you.
~~~~~
After about 4 hours of watch both Incredibles 1 and 2. You and Jack were passed out in the fort. Aaron had stepped away for what seemed like 5 minutes, but it was long enough for the both of you to fall asleep.
When you felt your eyes starting to get heavy you snuggled into the blanket you had. You had no idea when but at some point Jack and moved closer to you. His head was on your chest and he wrapped his little arms around you. At some point you wrapped a protective arm around him.
When Aaron walked back over and saw the two of you cuddled together. The smile on his face was big. Bigger than anyone's ever seen it, including you. Well you couldn't see it cause you were sleeping. He didn't want to disrupt the cuteness you two were giving off but it was still 2 in the afternoon.
"Hey," He bent down to shake you. You groaned and turned your face away from him. "Hon, it's only 2 o'clock."
"5 more minutes." You said and pulled Jack in closer to you.
"How about I give you 10." He pushed some hair away from your hair and behind your ear.
"Mmm, I love you." You mumbled and puckered out your lips for him to kiss. And that's exactly what he did. He bent down a little more and kissed your lips. He kissed Jack's head and readjust the blanket so it was covering the both of you.
You could do this for the rest of your life if you could.

Children of The Sky: Heartcore
In the realm of Yggdrasil, there exist nine worlds. Each and every world has unique stories to tell, but there was one that stood out--The Floating World of Speir. In the land of Speir, the impossible does not exist; this world has given birth to thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of tales, fables, and legends. The fight for the fate of the world is a common occurrence and the neverending stories of the people which reside in it were all, by itself, always unique and interesting. Now, after many aeons have passed, the world has changed. Not only the power of magic could shape reality, technology also has the ability to change the world with just a thought. And from the world where futuristic technology meets magic, I have chosen to tell you a story, a story picked from countless others. This is the story of a boy who recently entered the prestigious, and the most powerful academy in all of the nine worlds--Yggdrasil Academy, to fufill his dream. What is his dream, you might ask. Well, allow me to show you the life of Reynard Foxtale, one of The Children of The Sky. *Warning. For those who don't like lengthy explanations or long talks, this might not suit your taste. However, the setting of my story does not adhere to most of the main stream fantasy/sci-fi settings. So, you might find my ideas unique or a little too weird and complicated or both. Whatever opinions you might have, I truly thank all of you who are willing to spend your time to read my story. *The cover (which is a picture I do not own) is not in any way an accurate depiction of the world in the story. P/S I will post this story on FictionPress as well. P/P/S I'm relatively new to this website, so if I made any obvious (to regulars) mistakes, please tell me. P/P/P/S Will update every two weeks. *Important: In Hiatus for now. **13/7/2017 Update. Check chapter nine (and maybe ten) post-chapter note.
