《Beauty And The Beast (bxb)》Chapter 10

The sun had long descended back into the depths of the earth as I trudged back to the mansion.
My mind drifted back to Ivan. After introducing himself, I came to know that he had recently moved into the god forsaken town from which I had so recently escaped.
Was he nice? Honestly, I don't know. I had stopped trusting people long time ago. I had saved him for the very sake of saving someone.
The moon had lit up the snowy night in an silvery shade cold. The piney peaks of the forest hid the mansion from my sight letting only fragments of it greeting my vision. I didn't know if I was welcome there anymore. I didn't know if I could face him anymore.
My legs without my consent turned back and I walked away from the house.
My aimless walk took me to the outskirts of the town. I stood at a cliff, down below, the entire town spread. Sleeping in contentment.
Bastards.
I couldn't forgive them. No matter how many days had passed. Leaving someone to die in the middle of nowhere, I don't think anyone could forgive that. Now I knew my way back only because of the beast. He had told me how to go back of I wanted to.
Adam.
A ghost sensation of pain flared through my chest.
I don't trust anyone. Then what was this attachment to him?
Deciding to take my chances I walked down into the town.
To Martha. It had been so long since I had met her.
The cobblestones had the snow swept off them, the dogs barked disturbed in there sleeps, moans and shouts came from closed bedroom door as of they thought they were the only ones out there.
Nothing had changed.
Reaching Martians house I quietly knocked the backdoor. This was the door that only Martha opened and not that disgusting peice of filth.

The door cracked open a silver a small head appeared behind the door. The door suddenly cracked shit before it was thrown wide open and I was hand full with a somebody.
Hugging her, I patted her back as she let out soul wrenching sobs.
"I'm here, I'm here...." I murmured as I slowly rocked her side to side.
"I thought you were dead." She wailed and I put my hand on her mouth to muffle her.
"Shh..."
I pulled her inside and locked the door behind me.
"Is he here?"
She shook her head.
"Bar?"
She nodded, pain filling her eyes.
I grinded my teeth in anger.
"Thank God you are alive? What posted you to run away? Don't you care for me? Didn't you think how I would feel?"
I looked at her bewildered by what she was talk.
"Stop. Wait a minute. I ran from home? Who told you that?"
She looked at me in confusion.
"You dad. He announced it one morning in the town assembly."
"That SOB! I'm gonna kill him."
"You didn't run away then?"
Looking down at her hopeful face, I reigned my anger in and told her the entire story.
By the time I finished, she shook with tears and kept on muttering sorry.
"It's fine Martha, I'm fine."
"Sorry, I should have known. You aren't the one to run. How could I stupidly belive him? Oh gods I wanna kill him." She shouted lifting her hand up shaking it as she made a small wrist.
I chucked at her behavior. Suddenly her sleeve slipped further up her arm and I saw something black.
I pulled her arm closer and raised the sleeve for a closer look.
"Don't." She said trying to get her hand out of mine.

It was a bruise. More specifically, huge finger marks. And the only one with that six zero of hands and would have the guts to put his hand on her was him. That f**ker she called husband.
"What is this?" I asked her, my hand shaking in fury.
"Nothing, it's nothing."
"How can it be nothing?" I shouted at her losing my cool. How I wished I could murder him! That bastard! I would make him pay.
"Please no!" She cried clutching my am as I tried getting out of the seat.
Looking at her tears filled my own eyes. What had Mason done to her? Where was the Martha that I knew? That strong girl that would ride a horse just to save me?
"Come with me Martha. You don't have to stay like this." I begged her. I was ready to do anything. Anything for her to live the life she deserves.
"It's fine. He didn't do anything apart from this."
I frowned at her reasoning. What type of reasoning was that?
"It's not fine love, now it's this. How could he even do this? He is your husband for God's sake! He is supposed to be by your side. Not whoring himself out in the bar!"
She gave me a bitter smile.
"I promise. I promise, if it becomes too much for me I'll come to you. Just give me some time."
What could I do when she pleaded with me like that? It was after all her life. Even if I wanted to change it, she had the ultimate power to do so.
"You will? You must! Otherwise they are going to see his corpse."
At that she giggled. I know. It sounded ridiculous, but I wasn't lying. I would find some way to kill him. Nope, punishment wasn't for him.
The main door shook with the heavy wrists banging it.
"Martha! Open the god Danny door now!" Came the slurred command from outside.
"Go... Go back to that man to that man, beast whatever... He seems to be someone who really cares about you.And don't you worry about me. I'll be fine."
"Martha!" Came the shout from outside.
I looked at her worried.
"Go!" She said pushing me to the backdoor.
I gave her a last worried glance before I walked out. I stood behind the door to see if I could hear anything from inside. But, when I couldn't I gave a sigh and I left.
Nothing had changed.
But by tomorrow I hoped that something, no matter how small would.

War of Seasons
Dorothea Atlin is the young, apathetic leader of the neutral territory of Sirpo, a chilly land hovering above the continuously warring factions of Sacer and Ghuria, whose devastating magics have ravaged their people and lands time and time again. Following a shocking attack and a cruel deception, Dorothea grows her conscience and takes up arms, using her self-destructive ability to manipulate the flow of time to ensure Sacer’s victory. Her growing understanding of war and the two factions is guided by Iree Nobelis, the determined and enthralling commander of Sacer’s forces, Ariana Kingfisher, a steely swordswoman of mixed Ghurian and Sacerian descent, and Rhys Tamlin, a kind but haunted soldier who goes to challenge Dorothea’s self-imposed celibacy and join her on a mutual journey of healing from the tragic legacies of the Atlin family and wars between the nations. Meanwhile, Dorothea’s only friend and deserter from the Sacerian military, Shark Olyen, returns to their homeland to face the family that disowned them and finds more than they bargained for in meeting Cerid Creed, a noble whose duty to his people clashes with his desires in romance and in life, much like Shark’s did long before. As their developing or preexisting loves and differing convictions on how to achieve peace create rifts between these major players, Dorothea experiences a personal revolution that leads her to fight for what she believes is right, no matter the cost. A slow-burn story that takes time setting up the psychology and motivations of characters for explosive payoff later down the line. The pictures weren't taken by me for the face claims!WARNING: This story also contains some heavy topics like anxiety, death, and self-harm. Cursing has been censored with astericks but it does have mature content (nothing sexual though).
