《Unforgivable ✔️》Chapter 27

I couldn't sleep. My mind was racing with different possibilities. What was I going to do to get out if this? I wished Bre and Jake were here so I could tell someone about this. It was eating at me and it just wasn't fair.
It was around eight in the morning when everyone came shuffling in. I continued to look at the ceiling as many things circled my mind. I didn't want to talk to anyone. Not after what Rider told me last night.
"Sage,"
My body went stiff at hearing Shayne's voice. I wanted to run to him and throw myself in his arms. My wolf was just itching to get her arms around him. We both missed him.
"That's definitely her," Rider said.
"There you have it." I recognized Eric's voice and there was an edge to it. I glanced at the group and then turned my attention elsewhere.
"She's the one that killed your sister." Eric continued speaking.
"And you're sure about this?" Shayne asked.
There was doubt in his voice and I was sure he was hoping for Eric to say this was all a misunderstanding.
"Positive." Eric said.
I caught the smug look Rider was giving me. I narrowed my eyes and slowly stood up from the bed. I heard Shayne let out a growl and was yelling at everyone to leave. I met his eyes and they roamed my body. I was aware that I didn't have much to cover up. I was wearing a tank and shorts.
Eric and rider didn't make a move to leave and their Beta's stayed as well. The guards that were with them scurried away leaving Shayne with Alex, Chase and Sam. All three looked down at the ground and backed away.
"I didn't kill her." I kept my voice steady.
I was thankful that my voice came out normal. I really felt like screaming and crying. I was tired of the accusations but I had to play this safe. Who would believe me if I straight out said I didn't kill them? Rider came to see me last night in secrecy so no one knew we had already spoken.
"I saw you with my own two eyes." Eric growled.
I continued to step closer as I kept my eyes on him. I was aware that Shayne was looking at me angrily. His eyes kept roaming my body and it was slightly making me uncomfortable. He was practically eye raping me in the open and Rider didn't hide it either.
"You had a connection to Ellie." I said.
"Don't talk about her like you knew her!" Eric spat.
I could see Shayne was shaking now and he let out a growl as well. I wondered if he did it because he agreed with Eric, or if he did it because his wolf didn't like Eric yelling at me. I was trying to reach out to Shayne through our mind link but he wasn't allowing me an entrance. He was completely blocking me out.
"Tell me something, Alpha," I said. "did you feel her die? When I stood over her did you feel anything?"
Eric looked at me confused. He had a connection with Ellie and he should have been able to feel the exact moment she died. If I didn't kill her right that moment he should have felt that. That was a small hope I was holding on to right now.
"What the hell are you talking about?" Eric asked.
"Enough of this." Rider said. "You aren't possibly going to actually listen to her, are you? She's nothing but a-"

"Watch your mouth." Shayne growled.
My lips twitched up into a smile seeing Shayne possessive. He wasn't going to allow anyone to hurt me no matter how angry he was with me.
"Did you feel it?" I continued. "You must have felt the bond break when she died."
"Are you gloating?" Rider asked.
"An Alpha gives out orders." I said turning to look at him. "I had no intention or a reason to kill Ellie. I was following orders."
"Don't try dragging me into the shit you created for yourself." Rider spat.
"Enough of this, Sage. We're all well aware what you did." Shayne said.
"Do you? Do you know what I did? Do you know what happened that day? You only know what others have told you but what about me?" I asked.
"I'm not going to fall for your lies again." Shayne said. "This isn't the first time you have lied to me."
"Shayne, I didn't kill your sister." I said, putting as much honesty as I could into my words.
"You little lying bitch." Rider spat.
Shayne growled at Rider and I saw his eyes shift to black.
"Get the hell out. All of you." Shayne ordered.
Eric continued to look at me with so much hatred before walking away. One nod from Shayne and everyone else followed. Rider's hate filled eyes burned into me.
It seems now that I finally noticed Justin standing next to him. Justin looked at me with a blank expression. His posture was stiff and he kept looking around. I assume he was hoping to find Bre here. I couldn't tell him that indeed she was here. If Rider found out he'd have her dead in less than a second.
"Leave us." Shayne said.
Rider gave me one last look and started walking away. Justin was close behind him and before he could get further away, I rushed to the cell and reached out to grab his shirt.
Shayne growled out pushing Justin away and grabbing a hold of my forearm. Rider noticed this and he turned back to look at us. He looked at me for a long moment and then back at Justin.
"She's okay." I whispered so low that only Shayne and Justin could catch it.
Justin's eyes widened for just a second but he masked it quickly. He gave a slight nod and walked away with a grunt. Rider was still looking at us suspiciously. When Justin reached Rider's side he turned around to glare at me.
"Touch me again, traitor, and even Shayne won't stop me from killing you." Justin said.
I frowned at him. Rider's smiled in amusement and turned to walk away. Justin have me a quick flash of a smile and hurried behind Rider.
I winced when I finally felt how hard Shayne was gripping my arm. His canines were out and so were his sharp claws. A small amount of blood trickled down and hit the concrete floor.
"I'd appreciate it if you let go of my arm." I said.
"What the hell was that about?" Shayne asked through gritted teeth.
"Why do you care?" I snapped.
"Why did you touch him?"
"It's none of your business." I said looking away.
Shayne pulled on my arm causing me to crash hard into the cell bars. I gasped at the sudden action. I looked at him and realized maybe I shouldn't be messing with him right now.
"Anything that has to do with you is my business."

"Not anymore."
I tried to pull myself away from him but he had me in a tight grip. I was standing in an awkward position. My face was in between two bars while my arm stuck through the ones that were next to it. My left knee was sticking out just below where Shayne had my left arm in a death grip.
"Don't test my patience right now, Sage. What the hell was that about?" Shayne growled out.
"I was just telling him his mate was okay!" I said. "Jeez, despite what you think about me right now, I'm actually innocent of your accusations."
Shayne snorted and rolled his eyes. Of course he wouldn't believe any of that.
"You killed Ellie, what more is there to say." He said.
"Do you honestly believe I would be capable of killing someone innocent. I didn't want to kill her. Rider ordered me to do it and it wasn't even me who did it. But you don't care about that, do you? You rather have me six feet underground too because that's what they're planning." I said. "Punish me if you want but Rider won't stop there. He hates me and you believe everything he says. I'm your mate! Why can't you just let me explain and trust me?!"
"You still smell different."
I frowned at Shayne when he completely ignored me. Here I was pouring out my heart to him and he wants to talk about how I smell?
"I'm limited to my showers." I said feeling irritated. "I'd usually take two a day but being locked in here doesn't give me that option."
"Shut up, that's not what I meant." He said. "Your scent is changing."
"My scent?" I asked confused.
Shayne nodded and he continued to look at me. His eyes roamed all over my body as if he were inspecting me. I tried to pull my arm again but he still had a tight hold.
"Maybe it's different because you made me bleed." I growled out.
Shayne looked down at my arm and as soon as he saw the blood he let me go. I pulled my arm to my chest and tried to get some feeling into it. The small puncture wounds were starting to heal now.
"What have you done differently?" Shayne asked.
"Huh?" I said confused.
"Has anyone been around you? Why do you smell so...so..."
"You're still going in about that? So I smell different, I don't see how this is important."
"You don't understand, your scent is different now." Shayne said.
Shayne reached into his pocket and pulled out the key to my cell. Before I knew it he was leaving the gate wide open and he stepped in. He continued to walk towards me and I took several steps back until my back hit the wall.
Shayne placed his hands on each side of my head as he leaned in. My heart started beating faster and my body was aching for him to come closer. I wanted to slap myself for thinking about having him in the bed right in that moment.
"What are you doing?" I asked in a whisper.
Shayne was leaning in closer to me until his face was but a mere inch from mine. He looked into my eyes and I could see they were starting to change into black swirls again. His wolf was at bay.
I took a sharp breath in when he pushed his face into to crook of my neck. He was taking in deep breaths inhaling my scent. This sent shivers down my spine and an ache to grow inside of me.
Before I could think twice about it I pushed Shayne away from me and darted past him. I darted past the guards who seemed surprised to see me out. One order from Shayne and they all started running after me. As soon as I had managed to get close enough to the exit of the prison I shifted into my wolf. I pushed myself as far as I could manage.
It wasn't in my mind to escape but now that I had already acted on it there was no going back. I wasn't going to stay here and let Shayne treat me unfairly without hearing me out. When he was ready to listen then I would come back.
That's if I didn't get caught.
There were several wolves after me but the only one I was watching out for was the massive black wolf with streaks of brown in his fur. I was close to the trees now and soon I would be able to lose them. It would be easier to lose them now that I was in the cover of the trees.
I was just about to reach it when I was thrown up in the air. My body flew away from the trees and I landed on the ground with a thud. I growled out at the sharp pain of the impact. My wolf was snarling out and I could feel her pushing back.
My breath came out short when my body slowly started shifting back. I had a really bad pain in my lower abdomen. I was in a fetal position as I tried to calm myself down.
I felt someone touch my arm and I turned to look at Shayne. He was in his human form and very much shirtless. I was thankful that he at least slipped on some shorts.
"Don't touch me!" I hissed.
I continued to thrive in pain. I looked around and noticed the others who were chasing me were still here but they had their backs turned to me. Shayne handed me a shirt and I quickly tried to slip it on.
I was sitting up but I still felt the small pain. Something was wrong here but I didn't know what it was. I had put all of my weight on my front feet when I landed so I shouldn't have been hurt. But still the pain continued to come at me in waves.
"What the hell were you thinking pulling something like that?" Shayne growled.
He stood up and roughly pulled me up with him. I yelped and fell on my knees. It hurt too much to move and I noticed something in that moment. Shayne must have noticed it too because he was kneeling down in front of me now. He looked at me worriedly and then down at my legs.
I looked down and sure enough there was a small streak of blood sliding down in the inside of my left thigh. I froze and looked at it wide eyed.
"We need to get you to the doctor." Shayne said.
Without a warning he wrapped an arm around my back and under my knees. He barked some orders out to therm around us and they fled. Shayne hurriedly ran with me in his arms. Closing my eyes I wrapped my arms around his neck and held in to him right.
I opened my eyes when the cool air hit my skin. We were at the house now and Shayne was heading up the stairs. We entered his room and he set me on the bed.
I was very much aware that I still had blood coming out from somewhere. I was too scared to even check but I was sure it was in my lower area.
"Does it hurt?" Shayne asked. "Did you feel anything break? Did you land on something. I'm really sorry, Sage, I didn't think you would get hurt."
"I-I don't know what happened." I said.
"Lisa, our pack doctor is on her way."
As if on cue an older lady walked in with a small kit in her hands. Shayne nodded to her and she rushed to me. She looked at the small blood that stained the insides of my thighs an lifted up the shirt I was wearing.
"No!" I said swatting her hand away.
Lisa jumped back when I did that. I gave her an apologetic look.
"I want you to leave." I said to Shayne not meeting his eyes.
"I'm not going anywhere."
"I don't want you in here right now and I don't need you to pretend like you care. Leave!"
"I told you I'm not going anywhere." He said.
"I really need to take a look at this." Lisa said.
It was agonizing having her check on my lower area. I winced every time she tried to move me.
"We'll have to take you to the infirmary." She said.
"Why? What's wrong?" Shayne said, asking the question I had swirling in my head.
"She's bleeding quite a bit and I need to make sure it's not severe." Lisa said. "We need to make sure nothing happens to the baby and-"
"Whoa, wait, what?" I said confused on what Lisa was saying. At the same time Shayne said, "What baby?"
"Um, Luna, you didn't know you were carrying?" Lisa asked now looking a bit uncomfortable.
"Carrying?" I said.
"A pup?" Shayne asked.
"No way, I am not...am I?"
