《Unforgivable ✔️》Chapter 2

At the mention of the Alpha I started struggling more. I knew death was the least that I deserved after what I had done. I felt the panic wanting to take over but I pushed it back. I needed to get out of here now. I had done this many times before and I could do it again.

"Chase, Sam," The guy said. "restrain her."

I was lifted off of the ground and there were two people holding on to me. I spotted Max in the crowd of guys that surrounded me and I glared at him. I told him I wasn't going to do anything! I snarled at him and tried to lunge.

"The rest of you are dismissed." The guy that tackled me said. "Max, head back to the pack house and inform Shayne about the problem."

"Yes, Sir." He said bowing and running off.

There were only four of us left and I knew I would be able to take them. If I was able to take Lucas and his henchmen then I could take these guys. But feeling the strength and power they had was intimidating me. They were of high rank, that much I could tell.

They had started walking with me being dragged along. I was still fighting against them but they weren't going to let me go. They each had a strong grip. Or maybe I just wanted this all to end. I was tired of running.

"I didn't do anything wrong." I said.

"You were trespassing." The guy walking in front of us said.

"Look, whatever your name is, I'm not here to cause trouble. I was just eating and then I was going to go on my way. No harm done."

"It's my duty to make sure orders are followed and keep the pack safe. You're a Rogue which makes you a danger to us all. I'm the Beta and I won't allow anyone to get hurt." He said proudly.

"If I would have wanted to do something to your precious pack then I would have done it when I got here." I snappily said.

"How long have you been in our territory, exactly?"

Maybe telling them that wasn't such a bright idea. What if they thought I was plotting something against them? I didn't have a reason to but they weren't going to believe that.

"Alex, don't listen to her. She's a scum."

I chocked back on a retort. "I wasn't going to do anything and I won't try anything. Just-just let me go, please."

At this point I would be desperate enough to get on my knees and beg. I could smell the wolves scents grow stronger as we continued walking. I knew that it wouldn't take long before I had the Alpha of Night Shade in front of me. I kept fighting against the two pair that were holding on to me, but they wouldn't budge.

Once we were out of the trees I saw a big house come into view. It was the pack house.

As we continued walking different people stopped to stare at me. I could hear them talking about me. When we reached the mansion that was surrounded by men guarding it, I was thrown to the ground.

I turned to glare at the two boys who purposely threw me on a puddle of water. My white tank top was now soaking wet from the front. I looked down and I could see my bra seeping through. I growled and tried to stand up but they held me down making sure I was on my knees. One of the guys pushed my head down so I was looking at the ground.

Even though his hand weighed down on my head, I looked up at the main pack house we were in front of and it looked so much like the one back at my home. My father was the third in command of Southern Cross pack and our home was close to the pack house.

"You perverts!" I snapped at the group of men starring at my chest.

I heard multiple growls coming from them. I gave each a filthy look as they tried not to stare at my chest. I knew it was mostly because my bra was now see through but they should at least have some respect. I was still a girl and should be treated like one. To them I was probably nothing more than a worthless trash.

I was surprised when my wolf had been silent since we got thrown in front of the pack house. She didn't really have a mind for planning on getting away. I could feel there was an unease about her. She was beginning to stir the longer I was in front of the pack house.

I saw the door of the house begin to open before the hand that was on my head moved to the back of my neck. I hissed in pain and turned to snap at the boy. He curled up his lip in a snarl.

"Show some respect to our Alpha!" He snapped.

I shoved his hand away which made him pull it back ready to strike at my face. I closed my eyes expecting the blow, but nothing came. There was a low threatening growl that rippled through me and it carried authority. It was enough to make me take my eyes off of the guy who was about to hit me, and move my eyes to the front.

I lifted my gaze to meet the man making his way towards me. He walked with confidence and with power. That was until his eyes landed on me.

He stood frozen in place and just started at me. A dark look took over his features and I had feared the worst. Key word had. My wolf was stirring inside of me begging to come out. This is the moment she had patiently been waiting for.

I took a whiff of the air and confirmed my suspicions when the most enticing smell took over my senses. I had nearly lost it there. It took everything in me not to move.

Mate, my wolf purred.

I closed my eyes and cursed my luck. When I opened my eyes I noticed his eyes had turned a dark color. He growled at the two guys who were holding me and I would have given them a smug look if it weren't for the situation I was currently in.

The guy reached down to pull me up by my upper arms and crushed me to him. He was growling at everyone who stood around us. I saw them back up several feet but they didn't go anywhere. I stood in his arms, frozen, while my wolf howled in happiness.

"Mate." He breathed out as he nestled his face in my neck.

I looked around at everyone who seemed to finally understand what was going on. I shook my head and tried to push him away from me. My wolf was not happy with my actions but I ignored her. The guy looked down at me and pulled my head back by my hair. I saw his canines coming out and I screamed at the top of my lungs.

The only thing that anyone could hear was my high pitch scream echoing throughout the area. The Alpha continued with his attempt to put his claim on me even though I was fighting against him. I never imagined this would ever happen to me, but it was happening now. He was going to try and force his claim on me.

I pushed on his chest and pulled away enough to swing my hand back and get a good hit. The slap might as well have been the sound of thunder by how loud it was. It had everyone freeze with pure shock, even the Alpha himself seemed at a loss.

"You shouldn't have done that." His voice came out low and threatening.

"Please let go of me." I whimpered.

I wanted to cower back. My wolf was upset that we had angered our mate. She wanted me to beg for his forgiveness.

"Mate." He said, tightening his hold on me. "You are my mate. You are mine."

I tried to go for another hit when he caught my wrist before it struck his face. I hissed in pain and shoved him away. I was surprised when I actually managed to move him.

"That hurt!" I said, angrily.

My hand was still throbbing and he wasn't making it any better. He seemed to have noticed because he was in front of me in a matter of seconds. I tried to ignore the small twist in my stomach I felt whenever he touched me. It was a feeling of pure pleasure. He was holding my wrist in his hand and pinched it between his fingers.

"Hey!" I said slapping his hand away. "Didn't I say it hurts?!"

"Who did this to you?" He asked in a demanding voice.

"Who cares?!" I snapped. "It hurts and you're making it worse!"

His eyes softened and I noticed his hold loosened against me. Now that I was looking at him I could really take him in. He was gorgeous, and I'm not just saying that because he's my mate. He was taller than me which made him look intimidating but my wolf loved it. She loved that we were smaller than him. He could protect us.

He tore his gaze away from me and looked at the men who only looked down without saying a single word. I felt bad that they were going to get into trouble, but they deserved it. I told them I wasn't going to be any trouble and they were there trying to hurt me. The least they could do was apologize.

"Who did this to her?" He demanded.

"She was trying to get away and I tackled her before she could get away." The guy named Alex was the first to speak.

"And you broke her wrist?" He growled.

"I-I didn't know she was your mate, Shayne." Alex stuttered. "If I would have known she was the Luna I wouldn't have let her get hurt."

I almost wanted to laugh at how nervous he looked. A while ago they were pretty much saying I was beneath them. I couldn't help but scowl when he referred to me as the Luna. I didn't want the position. I was not the right person to lead a pack with an Alpha.

I stepped away from Shayne, which I now knew was his name, and he snapped his head back to me. A low growl escaped his lips as he looked at me. I was beginning to wonder if I had done something wrong when he reached for me and crashed me to his chest. I noticed then that he was shaking uncontrollably.

"Let go of me." I said, struggling to push him away from me.

I felt Shayne's claws digging on my bare waist where my shirt rose up. I tried slapping his hands away but that only brought pain to my wrist. Shayne let go of me and I watched as he was starting to take off his shirt. He handed it over to me as I starred at his bare chest.

My wolf was purring at how appealing he looked that moment. I tried not to look but it was just there. I wanted nothing more than to give myself to him. I shook those thoughts away and brought my eyes up to Shayne's. He raised a brown and had a coy smile when he caught my eyes roaming his body. I glowered at him and turned my head showing him my disinterest which was a complete lie.

"Take the shirt." He said.

I shook my head and continued to look away from him. I wasn't going to put on his shirt and I wasn't going to let him claim me. I didn't want a mate and I was sure he wouldn't want me. If he were to ever find out about what happened years ago then he would hate me and reject me as his mate. Just the thought of it made my wolf whimper.

"I said take the damn shirt and put it on." He ordered.

I turned to look at him and laughed. I didn't miss how his tone carried out an order. That wouldn't work on me. I didn't want his scent on me and I didn't want my wolf getting excited over this. It was bad enough that she was acting like a love sick puppy already. It would break her once we left. I couldn't give her false hope that this might work out somehow.

"Then come here."

Shayne crushed me to his chest again as I felt my feet leave the ground. I looked over Shayne's shoulder and his men were still standing there, staring after us with shock. I felt the cool air hit me from the entrance of the door. It was hot outside and being in spring season made it extremely humid in this part of the country.

"If you're not going to put on my shirt then I will lock you away where no one can see you." Shayne said, setting me down on my feet.

I looked down and remembered that my bra was very visible under my wet tank top. I quickly covered myself and felt my cheeks warm up. I grabbed Shayne's shirt and grumbled to myself as I put it on. The shirt was long and came down mid-thigh. I had only been wearing shorts and a tank so it looked like I was completely naked under.

"You look nice in my clothes." He said with a small smile.

I rolled my eyes and started pulling the short up to my waist so I could tie it to my side. I tensed when he reached out to caress my cheek. His fingers left a trail of rifles where he was touching me.

"Perfect." He whispered.

"Don't touch me." I pushed his hand away.

A deep frown took over his features as I began to tie the shirt to the side. I took my hair tie and tied the access fabric of the shirt into a little bun. I tucked it under the shirt so it wouldn't be sticking out. My brown hair fell in front of my face and I groaned.

Usually it took forever to tame my mess of a hair. I hated the long waves life had cursed me with, but I also didn't want to cut it. In a way I liked it because I considered it beautiful but not when I had knots that even the moon goddess couldn't untangle.

"Don't talk to me like that." Shayne said.

I looked at him and raised a brow. He was glowering at me and had his arms crossed over his chest. To anyone this stance might have been scary but it wasn't working on me. He was trying to show me who the Alpha was but I couldn't have cared less. I would be out of here soon.

At the mention of leaving him, my wolf started whimpering. She was calling out to her mate this whole time and I was starting to lose my patience with her. It's not that I wasn't content about finding Shayne but it wasn't the right time. I couldn't put my baggage on him like that. He deserved a better mate that wasn't...well, me.

"Yeah, whatever." I said. "Look, I didn't mean to be trouble and I'm sorry for whatever it is I did. If everything is okay now then I'll be going."

I started walking away and he grabbed my hand. Pain shot through my wrist and I winced at the unwelcomed pain. I wanted to smack him across the face but my wolf wouldn't like that. I growled at him and he quickly let go of my hand.

"I'm sorry." He said. "I will punish Alex for hurting you."

"No!"

No matter how much I really hated Alex for bringing me here I didn't want him to be harmed. I could practically see the smirk my wolf could've given me if she could. I had barley found my wolf for less than fifteen minutes and I was already acting like a protective Luna.

Even though I was hurt because he tackled me I couldn't let Shayne hurt Alex. This all happened because of me. Wherever I went trouble followed and somehow I always ended up hurting someone. It wasn't Alex's fault that I had decided to become a Rogue and end up doing reckless things.

"He hurt you." He stated.

"It wasn't his fault. I was trespassing."

"He still hurt you." Shayne said seeming unpleased that I was arguing with him about this.

"You would have killed me on the spot."

"You're my mate. I would never do anything to hurt you."

"If I weren't your mate you would kill me without a second thought. I'm a Rogue, it's expected."

Shayne snaked his arms around my waist. "You are mine. You are my mate and I would never hurt you, much less kill you. They need to be punished for hurting you. No one is to lay a hand on you."

"Don't hurt them." I pleaded. "They were only doing what they thought was right."

"Why are you defending them?" He asked accusingly.

This was one of the reasons I didn't want to have a mate let alone one that was an Alpha. I hated when they felt the need to be so possessive. I knew what he was implying with that question and I laughed at it.

"I was the one that trespassed in your territory and could have brought danger to the pack. Just because you claim I'm your mate you forget all of that." I laughed in disbelief and shook my head.

"I don't 'claim' that you are my mate," Shayne said putting air quotes around the word Claim. "you are my mate."

"I'm also a Rogue, I've killed people and I don't plan on staying here." I said.

As I said those words my wolf was crying out. I didn't think she understood that it was dangerous to say here. I felt bad for everything I had done and for hurting some people I had grown to love. I just didn't know how to stop hurting people and I had no doubt it would change any time soon.

"You aren't going anywhere."

"I didn't harm your pack so please just let me go." I said.

"I'm not letting you go." He said.

"You don't understand." I said, frustrated. "I'm not good for a pack and I won't be a good mate to you."

"I can't let you leave now." He said. "I just found you."

I felt like I wanted to slap him and just cry. This was the worst day of my life and I hated fate for playing with me so much. I hated that I had to find my mate in these moments. What if they found out I was now here? A fight would surely break out and people would get hurt. I couldn't allow anything like that to happen.

"You aren't leaving." He said, paying with each word.

I sighed and made up my mind. No matter how much my wolf would hate me she would have to deal with it. This was for the protection of this pack. No way could I stay here and put more people in danger. I had to do this.

"I'm sorry...." I said in s quiet voice. "but I can't stay."
