《The Luna's Awakening》Chapter 27

Where was he?
He always seemed to disappear whenever I needed him
I walked down the corridor looking for my best friend, Ben. Although I had stayed at Sabrina's pack for a few days and had been given a tour, I was still a bit unfamiliar with everything. This place was very elegant. I had two and a half hours before the coronation and mating ceremony started and I needed Ben's help to set up, I had been stuck with Sabrina all day yesterday and had nearly ripped my hair out at all the decision making she needed help with, "What do you think of this? Does this colour go with my skin tone? What colour flowers should we have, orange or pink?" Urghhh.
Don't get me wrong Sabrina was nice but sometimes she was just too over whelming and picky.
I honestly didn't give a damn I just wanted to get this over and done with. Ben was better at handling this stuff.
Just as I turned the corner I saw Sabrina walking my way with two other girls.
Oh shit. I quickly ducked into another corridor which led me down stairs. It was dark so they couldn't see me as I pressed my back against the wall. As they walked past I recoginsed the voices belonged to the same two girls who where with Sabrina at the dance yesterday but I couldn't remember their names.
"Oh Sabrina, Im so excited for you!!"
"Me too, you and Kian are gonna make such a cute couple!"
"Oh I know we are just made for each other. Speaking of Kian, where is he? I've been looking for him all morning."
I let out a relived sigh as their voices started to fade. I was in the clear. Just as I was about to walk back up the stairs something caught my eye. My eyes widened in shock at the object in front of me.
It was a small, glowing blue orb and it was dancing around.
Flashes of memories from my childhood played in my mind. They where of ones with my mother before she died and we were sitting outside at night, looking at the stars. "Mum, Mum look is a glowingy blue thing!" I pointed at the mysterious object swirling above me. It danced around memaking me laugh.

"Oh my, well you look at that, it's the spirits." she said cheerfully with a big smile on her face.
"Spirits?"
"Yes darling, spirits. They are sent by the moon goddess to look out for us. However they don't always reveal themselves only in times of need, or to special people, like you my little king." she said showering me with kisses and tickles making me sequel and laugh. A few seconds later she started having a coughing fit. "Mummy are you ok?"
"Yes im ok darling." she said still coughing but not as hard. She had a sad look in her eyes but she still smiled warmly at me.
I shook my head clearing my head of the memory and continued to look at the orb. What was it doing here?
I tried to touch it but it quickly moved away, further down the dark stairs so I followed it. It lead me to another empty corridor and then to a dark wooden door, disappearing though it.
I reached out for the door handle but froze when I heard a faint, soft crying coming from the other side of the door. It was so quiet even with my wolf hearing. How strange. It made me even more curious.
I quietly opened the door, not wanting to make a sound. When I looked inside it was very dark. There where cells everywhere.
A dungeon?
There were flame lit torches illuminating the place, but it was still dark. A bit of light escaped through the cracks on the wall.
I was aware they had a dungeon here but I wasn't told of there being any prisoners held here.
I will have to know these kind of things since I'll be Alpha.
A little voice at the back of my head said there were secret being hidden. I pushed it back not wanting to believe it.
I continued to follow the crying. As I walked past, I looked inside all the cells. They where empty.
Who could be down here?
Maybe it was a dangerous rogue or hunter or even a vampire, but a vampire probably wouldn't cry. Unless it was being tortured.
The sound got closer and closer.
Until I came across a cell. It was every dark but I could make out a small, fragile body laying all the way at the end, facing the wall.

There was something that I was certain of and that was that it was a girl.
She hadn't noticed me standing here, watching her with curiosity.
I was so confused, what was a girl doing here, locked up?
I sniffed the air trying to catch her scent.
I was surprised. This girl didn't have a scent. It seemed to be..masked. But how? Was that even possible.
Something was strange about her, I could feel it, my wolf could too. Why did the blue orb lead me here?
I went to move closer and just as I did I stepped on some pebbles, making a crunching sound.
The girl immediately stopped crying and whipped around towards the sound as she sat up, alertly.
She was sitting in the shadows so I couldn't really see her face properly, but I could just make it out.
I could tell her eyes where wide with shock.
"Wha-what are you doing here?" She said shocked, but I also picked up a hint of fear laced in her voice. She seemed to recognise me, but I couldn't see her clearly enough to recognise her.
"Better question is why are you here?" I said calmly and skepticly as I looked around her cell.
She seemed hesitant to talk, unsure whether she could trust me.
"I'm not here to hurt you if that's what you're thinking." I reassured her.
"Yeah well that's hard to believe coming from you." Ouch
I tensed my jaw and felt my eyes go cold.
I was use to people believing that I was something I was not, cruel and violent. I guess it was a reputation my father made me into. Sometimes it was useful. Let them believe that.
"You should watch what you say. I don't like being disrespected. Now tell me, what are you doing here. Who are you?" I laced my voice with dominance.
I saw her shadow stand up. She seemed to be wearing a ..black dress?
"My name is Lara King and I belong to the SilverMoon pack. - Look I'm not sure how much I can tell you right now, but all I can say is that if you don't get me out of here, bad things are going to happen. You need to trust me."
"Wait bad things? And why in the hell would your own Luna lock you up in here? If you want me to let you out you have to explain. How do I know you're not a traitor or a rogue? You don't even have a pack or an individual scent which is even stranger." I was unsure whether to trust this stranger.
Then that was when something clicked. A memory from a few days ago played in my head. It was of that pack meeting at the open fields when Eleanor was addressing her pack.
"Also if anyone in my pack comes in contact or see's Lara King you are to report to me immidieatly. If fail to do so there will be consiquenses." Eleanor said threateningly in her Luna tone, making everyone in the SilverMoon pack nod and look down to avoid eye contact.
I blinked the memory away, surprised. "Wait you're the one they mention at the pack meeting on the field."
"Yeah that was me." She crossed he arms, leaning against the wall seeming more confident now. I was still wondering what she looked like. Urgh just come out of the shadows already.
Her voice seemed very familiar, but I dismissed that thought.
"Why were they looking for you? It seemed so urgent too."
"I found out something I wasn't suppose to and let's just say Eleanor didn't want me to tell the rest of the pack, afraid that it would affect her position as Luna."
"So I was right this place does have it secrets. Well now I am very curious." I smirked.
"But first you have to let me out. I have to save a friend who's with me. He's kept locked up and could be injured. They are planning to kill him today."
The mysterious girl walked towards the gate. Towards me. She was out of the shadows. The near by torch illuminated her beautiful face.
That's when my body froze, eyes wide with shock and recognition.
It was her.
"Y-you?" I said just below a whisper.
