《The Luna's Awakening》Chapter 24

After parking the car I weaved my way through the busy street. Since it was lunch time there where lots of people out and about laughing, talking and wondering around. I followed my nose as I caught the smell of a place I was all too familiar with. Taco Bell!
It was one of my favorite fast food places around here and the food is always amazing!
I swear I could eat everything on the menu here!
My stomach growled in hunger as I opened the door making a bell above me jingle, alerting the workers of a new customer.
"Hi what can I get for you!" Greeted the young blonde woman standing behind the counter.
By the time I finished ordering the lady gave me the same reaction every worker gives me after I finish ordering.
"Are you getting a table for two?"
"No it just me today."
She looked at me, then at her computer screen and then back at me unable to comprehend how I was gonna be able to eat so much by myself.
I just gave a big toothy grin.
What can I say werewolves eat a lot.
"Your order will be out in a bit. Here's your table number." She said handing me the number.
"Alright thanks."
I made my way to a table on the far corner located near the big window, giving me a nice view of the street.
As I sat alone I observed the people around me. Some times I wondered what it would be like living life as a normal human.
Would I still be the same as I am now? Would I go to college?
As much as I loved being a wolf it had its challenges. Our pack all relied on each other so much and we where pretty much rich so we never really had or needed mundane jobs. Only the rare few in the pack who didn't have a family had ones to keep themselves busy. There are always jobs to be done within the pack, such as helping out at pup school, in the kitchen, patrol, training, sometimes hunting, computer techs who would keep us updated with the mundane world, on the Hunters and teams which would go out in public to stop any rogue vampire attacks.
As my mind wandered I couldn't help but think about tonight's plan. I prayed everything went according to plan and no body would get hurt. Then I found myself remembering those icy blue eyes I had seen two nights ago. I was still confused as to why he did what he did.
Maybe he was just doing what werewolves are known to do which was protect one another, especially against vampires.
A a vision of his eyes and the way he looked at me played in my head and I felt a weird shiver of goose bumps as I physically shivered.

What is wrong with you Lara. Stop thinking about him he is getting mated already!
Was this a mate attraction? Could he be my mate. The soon to be Alpha of the well known mighty pack.
No.
Then Colleen's words repeated in my mind, destroying any stupid further thoughts of Kian being my possible mate.
"Im so sorry Lara but True Luna's don't get bless with mates."
I remember when I was younger, I use to believe Nick was my destined to be my mate. I was so in love with him that it destroyed me he suddenly broke our relationship off and disappeared. It took me months for me to lock away those feelings and to use my training as a way to distract my self from the pain.
As I had just about finished my food and was just about to leave I caught a scent my ears pricked at the sound of the bell above the entrance of the store jingling.
That was when I found myself frozen in place surprised.
It was Sabrina
Shit!
And following close behind her was Kian.
Giggling excitedly Sabrina whispered something to Kian but he didn't seem that interested, but either Sabrina hadn't noticed or she didn't care.
As they made their way to the counter, she leaned her body into his as she clinging onto his arm.
Using my wolf hearing I concentrated on the sound of their voices.
"Kian I'm cold. Would you be able to lend me your jumper." She nagged, batting her eyelashes.
"I told you to bring yours since it would be cold." He said looking away in my direction.
Instinctively I grabbed the menu sitting on the table beside me and put it in front of my face to shield me.
"I know but pleaseee."
Still looking away from her Kian rolled his eyes and did as she said.
As he slipped his hoodie over his head in one quick motion his top lifted up a bit flashing his lower torso.
That was when it caught my eye.
He had a black tattoo in the shape of a moon.
Before I could look more closer his shirt fell back down.
"Yay! Thanks babe."
I have to get out of here.
When they started ordering I took that as an opportunity to make a dash.
****
As Sabrina ordered her food I caught the smell of a familiar lavender scent. The door jingled as a girl left the store in a hurry. I didn't catch her face but I knew from the long dark brown wavy hair that I had seen her before.
The mysterious girl from the alleyway.
My mind replayed the memories of that night. She seemed so brave from the way she stood up to those vampires and the way she didn't cower when they stared her down.

Something about that girl intrigued me. I knew she was from the SilverMoon pack because I had seen her that day at on the field. I had tried to find out who she was but no one seemed to have seen her that day.
As I was about to instinctively follow her out the door when Sabrina's voice snapped me out of my train of thought as she slipped her arm through mine.
"What about you Kian, what are you going to get?" She chirped happily, oblivious of my attention being somewhere else.
"I'll just get what she's getting." I said smiling politely at the girl, who just started up at me with the same look every human girl or more like every female gave me,
Maybe I would see the mysterious girl tonight at the masquerade dance.
"Hold still."
"Ow!"
Jade held my head with both her hands.
"I swear Jade, if that thing touches my skin, it will be the end of you." I warned as the wand came dangerously close to my face, and I felt my skin tingle as the heat radiated from it.
"Oh relax I'm at expert with this." She said waving the hair curler around dangerously as she brushed my warning off.
"Oh yeah it's not like you've burn me before." said sarcastically. "Remember graduation when I had to put makeup over my burn on my neck because it look like a hickey!" I said recalling that embarrassing moment. This caused Jade to giggle as she recalled the memory.
"Ok I admit to that but hey that was ages ago."
"That was only a month ago." I said dryly.
I heard her suppress a giggle as she carefully wrapped a section of hair around the wand.
"Well hey at least you will look amazing when you kick Eleanor's butt tonight."
We both laugh at this.
There was a light knock at the door and a few seconds later Colleen's head popped around the corner.
"Wow you ladies both look great already! Just letting you know that we are leaving in 15 mins."
"Thanks! Alright we are nearly finished we'll be down soon." I replied.
"Let me know if you need a hand with anything. I'm going to go let the boys know." She said as she closed the door behind her.
"So.. what's happening with you and Nick? I mean he clearly still has feelings for you." She said all giggly as she wanted to know all the deets.
I just smiled at this. " Well I don't know, it's complicated. I'm not sure if it's the right time to say anything because of everything that happening and I don't want my feelings to get in the way of anything." I let out a sigh.
"But you still have feelings for him?"
"I feel like I do. At first I thought that I'd gotten over him but those feelings are resurfacing. I just don't want to get hurt again. Wherever feeling are involve there is always pain."
I looked out the window it was already getting dark as the night fell.
"Well I can't wait to see what Kian will look like tonight. He sure is a hottie." She said giggling.
I debated whether I should mention my recent run in's with him. I kinda wanted to tell someone to get it off my chest.
"Jade there's something I have to tell yo-" but I was shortly interrupted by her squeal.
"Done!! Wow I really did it with you this time. You look amazing, quick come look at yourself in the mirror!" She said, pulling me by the arm excitedly.
I blinked a couple times, not able to believe what I was seeing.
Before me stood a girl with long, thick dark, volumes curls. As I turned my body sideways, I saw that she had braided the top half of my hair in a half up half down, which stopped my hair from falling into my face. I had some light brown shades of make up which made my eyes pop.
(Lara's hair)
(Lara's dress)
"Oh my god Jade. Thankyou so much, I love it!" I turned to give my best friend who had a large grin on her face, a hug.
"What can I say I'm the best."
I laughed. "Yes you are."
"Well let's go down stairs and meet the others since it's time to go now. Oh wait was there something you wanted to say to me before?"
"Oh no it's nothing."
I followed Jade out of Nick's room and went down stairs. Sure enough the others where there waiting for us.
Nick was standing at the bottom of the stairs beside Rick, smiling his mischievous boyish grin, I loved.
He was wearing a navy blue suite with a black tie.
"My lady." He said extending his arm for me. "Shall we?"
I smiled. "We shall."
The pack house was about a 30 minute walk. So we decided to just take the car.
I got into the back and sat beside Nick, while Jade in the passengers seat. Nick leaned in and whispered in my ear, sending a warm shiver down my spine. "You look beautiful."
"Why Thankyou. You don't look too bad your self." I said playfully and he grinned.
As we made our way there, I couldn't help but feel the butterflies in my stomach from excitement and nervousness.
This was going to be one hell of an interesting night.
