《The Luna's Awakening》Chapter 16

As Nick and I approached the open fields, we could see hundreds of people. Our pack was standing opposite from the BlackNight pack. The BlackNight Alpha was standing with Luna Eleanor in the middle of the line dividing the two packs. There where people from both packs standing in their human form and wolf form.
'Lara you should probably shift into your human form. Your True Luna wolf form will catch people's attention.'
Nick mind linked me as we walked closer.
Once close enough we both shifted.
I had forgotten that my wolf form changed when I got my Luna powers. Since my colour was rare and I was much larger than a normal werewolf, I stood out more but luckily everyone's eyes where on the BlackNight Alpha and Luna Eleanor so no one noticed.
When I shifted Nick handed me the large black hoodie I gave him when we left for this exact reason, it was pretty much a dress on me because of how short I was. I pulled the hood over my head to hide my face.
I walked into the sea of my pack members with Nick trailing close behind me, both of us blending into the crowd so Eleanor or anybody else wouldn't notice me.
I heard a couple people say hi or nod at Nick in acknowledgement and he replied with the same. A lot of the pack members knew Nick or at least of him since he was ranked pretty high as second best male warrior.
I stood on my tip toes to try and catch a glimpse of the The BlackNight pack.
They sure took after their name. Most of the wolves were a dark colour which varied from dark grey, brown to black.
The man standing in the centre who I believe was the Alpha looked around 45. He seemed confident and calm which made his presence powerful.
He looked like he could easily take down any opponent with his strong figure.
I wouldn't want to get on his bad side.
Both packs hushed as Luna Eleanor lifted her arm in the air to command attention.
"Alpha Jessen." Eleanor nodded in acknowledgment while shaking his hand.
"Luna Eleanor."
"We welcome you and your pack onto our territory before the joining of the two packs and we look forward to your stay with us. I would like to officially present to you my daughter Sabrina the new future Luna of the new pack and mate of your son." Elenor said proudly as Sabrina confidently and gracefully walked to stand beside her mum.
She smiled politely at Alpha Jessen while shaking his hand.
"It's good to finally meet you Sabrina."
I hated Sabrina she was a real bitch, pretty much to everyone who she didn't like or find attractive, which included me but everyone had to treat her nicely since she was considered an equal to her mum but also since she was gorgeous a lot of the unmates males and humans worshipped her.

All teenage wolves where enrolled to attended high school as part of learning about the human world and how to control our wolf side to blend in. When I was in high school she was there too and she pretty much ran the school. Of course the humans didn't know we where there or what we were but most of the werewolves would form friendship groups with other wolves anyway. We (or at least our pack) didn't hurt humans I guess you could say we protected them from vampires and aggressive rogues.
I was snapped out of my train-of-Sabrina-bitching-thoughts as a large, dark, menecing wolf emerged from his pack and took long prowling strides towards the Alpha, Luna and Sabrina.
Like the Alpha his presence also shouted power, authority and dominance.
Without turning around Alpha Jessen said "Luna Eleanor, Sabrina. This is my son and soon to be Alpha, Kian."
The wolf shifted and was replaced by a handsome, tall, lean but well built guy with black wavy hair who looked around 19. He had a dark look and a light cream complexion that made his striking blue coloured eyes stand out. .
"It's nice to meet you Kian." Eleanor spoke with a welcoming smile as he nodded at her.
Wow she was sure good at putting up the kind act.
If only they really new her.
My conscious muttered
I hadn't realised I was slowly inching forward until Nick grabbed my wrist and mind linked me.
'Careful. Don't get too close.''
I turned to look at him but an all too familiar blonde hair caught my attention. Jade.
She was standing to my right a couple meters away from me as she and like everyone else was trying to catch a glimpse of Alpha Jessen and Kian.
'Jade turn left' I mind linked her
She turned left confused as her eyes scanned the people around her probably wondering who mind linked her. Her eyes widened in realisation when she noticed me, probably surprised to see me here.
'Careful. Don't draw attention. No one can see me'
I turned my head to look away from her as if I hadn't seen her.
I heard her carefully make her way to me before she stood beside me. I could tell she was trying hard to act normal.
'Lara what are you doing here?!' I heard her voice in my head.
'I was curious. I wanted to see what was happening. I knew there would be little chances of Luna Eleanor seeing me if she was distracted.'
I saw her from the corner of my eye turn to look at me. I felt her tense beside me.
'Umm Lara don't turn around or freak out but Nick is standing behind you.'
'It's ok he is with me. He knows my secret.'
I turned to looked at her reaction, her eyes nearly bulge out of her sockets, then she gave me that you-better-explain-later look. She new my history with him and lets just say she hated him for causing me so much pain when he left.

'Long story I'll explain later.'
We both turned to see what was happening.
'God the Alpha's son is so hot. I hope I find a mate as good looking as him.'
I looked back at him. I had to agree with her he was very good looking. He looked like the type that could get any girl he wanted.
However he didn't look like the loving or romantic type. It made me kinda feel bad for Sabrina his soon to be mate.
My attention snapped back to Eleanor as her voice boomed to speak up, this time addressing both packs.
"The unity of the SilverMoon and BlackNight pack will be held on the day of the coronation which is in two days time as planned. To celebrate the ceremony I have decided to hold a masquerade ball which everyone is invited to come and celebrate."
I heard a few whispers around me about the sudden news.
A masquerade ball? We haven't held one in ages.
I could feel confusion, curiosity and also excited emotions flowing through the pack bond.
"I expect my pack will make the BlackNight pack feel welcome and help out with anything. Also, our patrol team will now be joining the other pack's Patrol team since we will be joining territories and have more land to monitor from vampires, hunter and rogues. Like they say there is strength in numbers." She clapped her hands together.
"That bring us to the end of this pack meeting. Rick I want you and your Warriors to stay behind to discuse the new patrol team."
"As you wish my Luna." I heard Rick who was standing in the front row with most of the warriors, reply with a bow.
"Also if anyone in my pack comes in contact or see's Lara King you are to report to me immidieatly. If fail to do so there will be consiquenses." She said threateningly in her Luna tone, making everyone in my pack nod and look down to avoid eye contact.
"Excellent!" And with that most of the packs started dispersing except the warriors from both pack.
I turned to look down and face Nick to avoid anyone seeing my.
"Are you going to stay?" I asked glancing up at him.
His ocean blue eyes looked down at me and then at the warriors, his face was deep in thought. I could tell he wanted to go with me but I knew that his presence missing in the warriors meeting would be noticed and questioned.
"No, I will go back with you."
"Nick it's ok I will be fine. You need to go other wise they'll notice." I said trying to convince him.
"Lara I can't leave you by your-"
"It's ok. I'll take her." Jade said cutting off Nick. He looked at her for the first time, noticing her.
"Jade." He said looking around to see if anyone was looking. He looked confused, worried and nervous to see her standing beside us. He probably figured that he wasn't on her good side ever since we broke up and he left.
"I didn't know you where here. Its been a while, nice to see you again." He laugh nervously, trying to change the topic, since he didnt know she knew I was a True Luna.
"It's ok Nick, I know about her. " He seemed to relax a bit at this bit.
"You go. She will be safe with me." She reassured him.
He looked back at me unsure but before he could protest I grabbed his arm and nudged him towards the small group of warrior.
"Go."
He looked back at me and then at Jade.
"Keep her safe." And with that he left jogging to the group of pack warriors.
Eleanor was too distracted talking to the Alpha to notice me while I could already see Sabrina flirting with Kian but he didn't seem to notice or if he did he pretended ignore it. When he looked away from her and his eyes scanned the dispersing crowd and his eye's landed on mine and stayed there. He didn't seem to look away and it felt like I was stuck in his gaze.
I wasn't able to read his expression, but he seemed to be studying me as if he was trying to remember something.
Shit! turn around Lara, turn around. Stop looking at him!
I quickly spun around with my back facing him.
"Lets get out of here" I said to Jade who was oblivious to what had just happen and she nodded. Together we made our way into the trees disappearing from the fields.
As we raced threw the forrest, I couldn't help but think of the way Kian was looking at me and the way it made my body react. Like a spark had flooded through my body. I had never really felt anything like that before. But what worried me most was that he would realise I was the girl the Luna had mentioned, would he realise? Would he tell her?
I mentally slapped myself. You have to be more careful Lara.
But I couldn't help it. Something about him was just captivating.
It made me and my wolf excited.
