I knew it wasn't long till they would realise I had gone missing and would come looking for me. I had to hide her. She wasn't safe with me anymore. Before I knew it I was standing in front of my best friends house knocking on the door. It was dark outside and the cold, winter wind sent icy chills along my arm. I made sure she was wrapped up in a warm blanket as she slept peacefully in my arms.

"Rosalyn?" Said my best friend Helen as she opened the door. Confusion and worry written on her face.

I made sure I was calm so she wouldn't think I was in trouble. "What are you doing out at this time in the cold, oh and with Lara in your arms! Is everything ok? Please come inside." She said motioning for me to come inside as she moved out of the door way.

"Helen, it's alright I won't be here long. Where's Mark? "

Before she could answer I heard a familiar male voice approach from behind her. "Honey is everything alrig-" but he stopped, surprise when he saw me. I gave him a small 'hello' smile. "Rosalyn is everything alright?" He asked concerned.

"Look...you guys are the people who I can trust and care about the most. I know you guys are good people.... And right now I have important things to handle, especially with me becoming the new Luna at tomorrow's ceremony..."

I didn't know how to continue without breaking down.

So I took a deep breath and handed Helen my baby instead. "I know you're never going to get the chance to have one of your own, so I'm giving her to you to look after and raise as your own. I know you guys will do a good job".

Both of them looked at each other and then me as if I was crazy, not being able to understand why I was giving them a future Luna to raise.

"She's not safe with me anymore, but I know she is here. She's is only a couple days old."

"Rosalyn... No..Wha- I- I cant do this. She is the next Luna after you. You're meant to train her, how-"

I cut her off before she rambled on. "Rick will help you. I know he will. He's a good friend and fighter, one of the strongest."

I gave Mark the letter I had written earlier about what they needed to know. "I wrote down everything you need to know about Lara's future. Read it and then burn it. No one and I mean no one, especially my sister must know she is my child, tell everyone she is yours. Don't tell her you're not her parents until her 18th birthday when she receives her Luna powers and mark. Train her well."

"Are you sure this is what you want?"

It wasn't but I had to. For Lara. "Yes."

"Why are you giving her to us? Where are you going? What's happening? Are you ok?"

"I cannot explain now, but you will understand."

I looked down for the last time at Lara's peaceful sleeping face and rosy cheeks as I gave her one last kiss on her forehead.

I looked at my best friend and Mark,

"Thank you."

As I walked away and turned to looked at them one last time, they watched me from the door. I mind linked them both.

'Take good care.' With that I disappeared into the night.

I knew the Luna ceremony was tomorrow but I had to make sure Lara would be safe. I knew she would't be safe with my sister near until I became the Luna. My instincts told me so and something I had been taught was to always follow your instincts

As I ran through the woods in the dark and in my wolf form back to the main building, my nose was hit with the smell of burned wood, blood and death. Vampire.

I came to a stop. My hackles raised and ears twitching back and forth trying to catch a sound.

I had a feeling I was being watched. I let out a low fierce growl. Warning the vampire out there that I knew of its presence, but heard nothing.

I knew I was close to a large clearing so I quickly bolted towards it.

When I got there I stood still trying to see or hear something. There were no trees where I was standing so I would get a clear view if the vampire ran at me.

Danger, my instinct suddenly told me.

A few seconds later a tall, thin figure, dressed in black emerged from the tree line.

It was the vampire king. What's he doing on our pack territory? Who let him in?

"Oh dear Rosalyn, why isn't this such a nice surprise to see you here" He spoke in a calm and deadly voice, with a evil grin on his face.

I quickly shifted to my human form to speak. "What the hell do you think you're doing here?" I said slowly though a low growl.

"Oh I was just meeting up with a friend, care to join me?" I heard a laugh creep out as he asked me the question.

Suddenly I was aware of more several more vampires coming out of the trees behind him.

"Go to hell." I spat out before shifting back.

With a click of his fingers, the vampires behind him advanced towards me and a smirk plastered on his face.

I wasn't an official Luna yet so I couldn't use my full Luna abilities I inherited as a first born daughter, but I was larger then a an average female werewolf. I used my size to bull doze though the crowd of vampires, killing a few in the process.

I felt my teeth bite into different body parts and rips some heads off. I could feel some vampires teeth sinking into my side. No! If they drank from me they would become stronger for a short time.

I turned and rolled trying to squash the vampires who where attached to my body but I was starting to loose blood.

I felt my limbs growing weak as more teeth sunk into me.

No I refuse to be drained here. I am not giving up!

I turned my head and ripped most of the vampires off. I moved around as much I could tearing through other vampires but some where already getting stronger. I felt slashes along my sides and back which was making it hard to move and my vision was starting to blur from the blood loss.

"That's enough now. I think our friend here is ready to beg for her life." He laughed.

All the vampires retreated back. I only growled at him bearing my teeth but collapsed from my injuries.

He was about to speak when a familiar female voice spoke up.

"Sorry im late I couldn't get the guards to let me leave."

Eleanor? What's my sister doing here?!

"Oh we were just having some fun." Spoke the vampire king as he chuckled.

I shifted back to human form. Wincing from the pain.

"You? You're the one who let them into our territory. I should have known. Why would you do this?" I demanded.

"Why would I do this" she repeated as if I asked her a stupid question.

"Because I want to be the next Luna. I deserve to be the next Luna not you! Just because of some stupid 'first born daughter' tradition doesn't mean you have to be Luna. I trained just as much as you did. I did every thing you did, yet all I was was your shadow. I was simply the daughter which wasn't important.

Now everyone is going to obey me as I become the next Luna and take over the pack."

"No, Eleanor you can't, our pack will grow weak you did not inherit the Luna abilities and mark."

"Forget about that stupid crap. I will prove to everyone that you don't have to be the oldest daughter to become pack leader."

She walked towards me with a determined look. She looked down at me as I tried to summon the strength to stand. But one of legs was broken and I had lost too much blood for my healing to work.

I knew what she was planning to do. She had always hated and been jealous of me but I had never thought it would drive her to do this.

In order to take over the pack she had to kill me.

"Don't do this Eleanor, think about the pack."

"Oh trust me I am. Once I kill you all this Luna stuff will die with you "

Lara. The pack still had my beautiful Lara.

I couldn't help but smile at the bit of hope left. She must have noticed because her expression faltered and became angrier.

"Good bye...Sister" were her last words before I was surrounded by complete darkness.
