《Human Mate (Under Editing)》You'll be okay

Garret's P.O.V
Her pulse was still small. She might have a chance at surviving. I hear her heart beating softly filling my body with hope.
Please be okay.
I just want to have her safe in my arms, playing with my hair and leaving light pecks every now and then on my chest like she does every night.
Oh how I wish we would be in my bed right now, just cuddling, her telling me about her day or her funny rants about school and how she hates homework. Heck I even miss how she would argue with me about the smallest things. Mostly I would start the arguments. Like how she would downgrade herself and I would argue with her about how she shouldn't say that about herself.
Just thinking of the things that we do make my run faster. I need her to be okay.
Shortly after we arrive back at the pack house. I immediately run to the large infirmary and lay her down on the bed. The doctor storms in and instantly checks her pulse and puts IV's into her arm.
"She has a chance. A slim one but there is a chance she will survive this"
"Thanks you so much" I say to him.
"Her body has temporarily shut down from the mark and not being with her mate, so you being in here with her will help her get better. She seems to be unconscious but she might be able to hear you if you talk to her." He says before walking out.
Taking her to the hospital would have been quicker but they wouldn't know why she is like this. The door bursts open to reveal Alex and Dylan. Alice's red puffy eyes show that she has been crying. Tears stream down her face as she see's Emily's frail body lay on the bed.

"Oh Emily" She says before sitting in one of the chairs. Dylan had soft sniffles and sobs as we stayed there by Emily.
"Alpha I came to inform you about something at the school today" Dylan says.
"What happened" I say emotionless, I could care less about what happened to the school, only my mate.
"They called for her all day. We went to the principal to see why and her dad was there. He looked high off his mind looking for her. I fear for her. He had this terrible glint in his eye that made me feel uneasy. I don't want anything to happen to her." Alice says sobbing a bit.
"He's not getting his hands on her. Nor will he ever find her. Our pack house is in the middle of the woods I doubt he will ever find us. Even if he did he wouldn't survive if he tried to take her from me. I would kill anyone for her" I say.
They both nod their heads before we sit in silence for what feels like hours. Heck it probably was.
Eventually Alice and Dylan left to go have dinner with that pack. I'm not leaving her. As I hold her hand I start to feel the sparks and tingles grow stronger.
"E-Emily" I stutter out hoping she will hear my voice. I rub my thumb against her cheek feeling her soft skin. Panting a small kiss on her lips feeling sparks erupt. I feel her lips twitch against mine filling me with hope as I press numerous kisses to her lips hoping she would wake up.
I hear her heart rate pick up like it always does when she is around me.
Her lips start to slowly move against mine. She's awake!
I pull away to see her eyes slowly flutter open but close because of the hectic lighting in the room.

Her eyes open once more and search around the room before landing on me. A huge smile spreads across her face making my heart flutter.
"G-Garret" She stutters.
I go to hug her. Finally my mate is awake and safe in my arms.
"I'm right here baby, I'm not going anywhere"
"She tries to sit up but winced in pain. I help her up. She scoots over to the side so that I can join her on the bed.
That's all I want to do. All I want to do is just lay down and hold her in my arms. While climbing onto the bed I avoid the IV tubes and lay next to her.
She moves to curl up next to me. I hear faint sobs come from her. I look down to see her face stained with tears as she clings to me.
"Shh it's okay now. You'll be okay. I'm not leaving. Ever" I tell her. Her sobs lessen as I wrap my arms around her.
"Thank you" she says. I lean down and whisper in her ear.
"No need to thank me kitten. I will always save you. Until the day I die"

People waking up is a part of the usual normal life. An uncountable number of people waking up with fuzzy memories and selective amnesia, only to be greeted with a status screen congratulating them for being a participant of a game? The new normal. Uncertainty follows the realization as the world around them, while looking the same, melts together with memories of what was once called fantasy. New surroundings and blurred borders await as we follow a young man along his path of survival and growth. In this new world power is quantified and upgradeable, traits get objectified and give out boons, while feats, some bigger, some smaller get rewarded. So how hard could it be to procure enough food and water? Genre, tags and content warning are subject to change. They were selected preemptively to cover certain bases for future chapters. I do not have a script only a premise and general outline I will follow along as I write. As this is my first try at writing I'd be overjoyed to get any kind of feedback. Crossposted on QQ

City of Roses
Jo Maguire, a highly strung, underemployed telemarketer, meets Ysabel, a princess of unspecified pedigree, and unexpectedly becomes her guardian and caretaker. The Book of Hickory
Now why did Hickory go and punch that Angel? Sure it spooked him, popping up right there at lunch, and yet, it wasn't fear that balled his hand into a fist - Cause wouldn't you? Wouldn't anyone - with a sick Ma at home, Da long dead, buried, all them prayers piling up on bruised knees, unanswered? Hickory was angry, all right. He was fierce, now - cause that Angel didn't show up to give no help, that Angel came by asking for it - with all that power just plain to see, the power to fix the world and all that ails it! And now look what poor Hickory has to do - to save the world? Now how is he supposed to do that when its taking near everything he's got - just to keep them chickens safe, Ma fed, and himself out of trouble - All he wanted was maybe just a dance with May, maybe a bit more, to hold her close? That she's sweet, now, a voice like an angel, but now she's over there lookin at him like he's more than a man. And that's not to say Hickory is bad, not all the time, not ever on purpose - just there are things a man has to - That drinking and fighting ain't wrong just as long as the chores are done proper first, that those parts of life that make it worth living ain't no sin, that loving a lady is proper and Hickory just has so much love to give! And May is special, right, sweet and soft, now she's sophisticated. That she wears her passion like a pearl necklace? That certainly Hickory would notice, naturally - that she's already spoken for, perhaps taken? That ever since Hickory came back, that all she can think about is swallowing - those strange feelings, because it wouldn't do, would it? For a Lady? But certainly she can worship him and still be seen with Weston Covanger? Because Weston needs May, that what happens in the Study is only half the battle, the Men's Business, and he's far too proud to settle for half of anything. That if he wants to move up the ranks of his family, to be more than a Covanger, to become the Covanger? He's going to need a woman in the Kitchen as well - he's going to need May. And if that seems a bit old fashioned? A bit too much like the Wild West? Well the West is starting to get wild again now that everyone starts to Drink. A different take on LitRPG where answers aren't given - they must be earned, discovered and fought for, one at a time. An orator style, a long read, filled with magic buildings, crafting, alchemy, but most of all - This is a story about the human spirit. About understanding what defines a person, their morals, their beliefs, and also faith when everything they understand becomes challenged - changed. So do they. People can change. They will. Just not always for the better, not always - sometimes. Sometimes that's enough. Sometimes that's even everything.
