Dream stared longingly at the picture. He didn't know what it was about this picture of his best friend that made his chest ache.
As he was about to press the arrow away to go back to the home screen on Twitter, he felt patches curl up lovingly beside his thigh.
He glanced at her, then back at his phone.
"You want breakfast now, little girl?" He whispered, followed by a soft pet that glided along her fur.
Patches hopped off of his bed and hurried to the kitchen.
Dream glanced at his phone one more time before shaking his head and shutting it off.
He followed patches the rest of the way into the kitchen then filled up her food and water bowls.
After he got her breakfast, he made himself a few slices of buttered toast and a cup of coffee for the side.
He sat at the table once his food was ready.
His phone was beside him.
dream thought, but soon shaking his thoughts away.
After his first slice of toast, his phone rang. He picked it up to see the contact name.
Gogy
He glared and pressed the green button.
"Hey, Dream. I didn't think you would pick up."
"Why not?" Dream replied.
"We were on stream together all night and you seemed really tired the last hour. I just assumed you didn't feel like talking to me I guess."
Dream slightly chuckled.
"Don't worry, George. Everything's fine. I got enough sleep, and I don't just ignore you."
"Oh," George mutters on the other end.
The silence was annoying.
"Well," George began trying to break the silence, "Sapnap asked if we wanted to get on with him, Bad and Karl later to talk about newer videos. Unless you'll be busy."

"No, I won't be," Dream replied, "sure. I'll be on in a few. I'll text Sap."
"Alright," George said, accent sharp.
"I'll meet ya on, Dream."
"See you there," Dream replied.
He then hung up and slapped his phone on the table.
He felt so, so odd for a reason.
This had all started two months ago when George was gone for two weeks with no streaming or any contact with Dream on his trip. Dream had realized around that time that it would be harder without hearing George's voice almost every day.
That was the time everything started to change.
The way he felt being around him, the way his voice lit up lobbies.
This was a new feeling Dream never thought he would feel for someone like George.
Dream scoffed and brought his empty plate to the sink. He set it inside and made his way to his room. He set up all his stuff and joined the call with his friends.
As he joined he noticed Sapnap and George were the only ones there first.
"Hey guys, where are Bad and Karl?"
"They'll be here any second," Sapnap said, "In the meantime, let's take a second to talk about George's newest tweet. George, you look so good."
Dream listened as George scoffed.
"Shut up."
Sapnap and Dream both chuckled as Bad joined the call.
"I'm just gonna delete the fucking tweet. Snapmap won't stop bothering me about it," George muttered.
"LANGUAGE!" Bad shouted lightly at the group.
Sapnap laughed at George as Dream wheezed.
After Karl finally joined they went into a survival world in Minecraft to stream and talk about random stuff like new videos, like they originally planned.
While they all talked and laughed hysterically like psychopaths, Dream always listened for George's voice.

As George cleared his throat, Dream could only hear him out of everyone and the loud noises they all made.
He took a huge swallow as his fingers slowly adjusted more stably onto his keyboard.
He then couldn't resist.
His hands flew off the keyboard and grabbed his phone. He quickly texted George, "after everyone leaves, can I talk to you rq? Alone?"
He then sent his phone down, instantly regretting texting him.
He could've waited until everyone actually did leave, then he would talk to him.
He tried to listen for George's confused voice to ask him why he needed to private chat, but he didn't say anything.
While he thought, he realized he began to overthink too much.
He shook his thoughts away and sloughed in his chair.
He ran his fingers through his long, wavy dirty blond hair as he stared at his phone.
Why did the smaller shit make him so nervous?
"Alright!" Dream heard Karl mutter over his thoughts, "I gotta go but I'll talk to you boys later. Bye!"
"Bye, Karl," Dream said.
Everyone said their goodbyes as Karl left the call.
"Should we end it here?" George asked.
"That's probably a good idea," Bad said.
"I'm down," Sap added.
"Alright. See you guys soon. I need to say bye to the stream," George insisted.
"Dream?" Bad muttered.
Dream pinched his bride between his eyebrows for a moment.
"Right, sorry. Yeah talk to you guys soon."
Everyone left the call, except for George.
Dream stare at the red bar.
"Dream? I just ended stream on mute. What did you wanna say?"
Dream held his eyes closed for a moment.
"I was gonna say that you shouldn't delete the.. the uhm.. the tweet. It looks nice. Really nice."
There was a second of silence.
"Wow, uh- thank you."
"Your welcome."
It was like George could hear Dreams slight smile.
"Uh, Dream?"
"Yes, George?"
"Have you been doing okay? Am I making you uncomfortable or something? You have seemed to be really uncomfortable these past couple of months and I just want to let you know you could talk to me."
"What?" Dream said, "I'm perfectly fine."
Lies. It hurt him to Lie.
"Are you.. sure?"
Dream nodded as if George could even see him.
Hell, George didn't even know what Dream looks like.
"D-Dream?"
"Oh, sorry. Yes, I'm sure. I can let you know if I need help."
"Okay.."
Dream buried his face into his hands and rubbed his eyes.
"It was a really nice time talking to you today," Dream said, flustered.
"You too. It always is." George replied.
Dream could now hear George's smile.
He felt better now.
