《Crazy》63: Visit
Advertisement
A week had passed and the man that I blamed for my kidnapping was sentenced to life in prison for manslaughter and kidnapping.
It ended quickly due to the evidence against him and even a witness from the party that claims to have seen him that night. I'm sure the witness was paid off by Cole.
Ron felt safer now. I can tell, he thinks I feel that way but I never felt in harms way.
He's not so protective of me anymore which makes this the perfect time to go out and pay Drew a little visit.
Over the week I had thought of so many things to say to him.
But now as I drove to his hideaway in the woods...I was drawing a blank.
All I could feel was rage and excitement at the same time.
I parked my car plenty far away from his home but within a distance where I could see the cabin he hid away in for the past two years.
I tried not to but couldn't help to stomp my way all the way to the front door. I didn't even bother knocking just simply turned the door knob.
Locked. There's no one near this place and he still keeps the door locked.
I tried to make as little noise as possible before looking around for a key.
I checked under the mat. Nothing.
My eyes caught the sight of a plant next to the door. That is seriously a worse place to hide a key...
I lifted the plant's vase and voila. A dirty key lay underneath.
I picked it up and as quietly as I could put the key in unlocking the door.
Hello again, asshöle, I thought to myself while turning the door knob.
As I stepped in I wasn't surprised to see how lifeless this place looked.

I walked around and tried to find where Drew might be sleeping. I opened every door I passed by.
So far I found two spare bedrooms...and a bathroom.
I reached the end of the hall and couldn't help but roll my eyes. He would get the farthest room for himself.
I slowly and quietly opened it.
Once inside I let myself look at who laid inside the mess of a bed.
Drew was all snuggled up in his heavy and thick blankets. His forehead creased as if he sensed an intruder.
There was also a beard...and he was overdue for a haircut.
He really needs to go out more. He looks as if he's been living off of the land for months.
Alright well time to get this over with.
"Drew," I said in a sing-song voice. "Get your selfish ass up now!" I yelled at him as I pulled the covers.
What I was expecting was for Drew to wake up be shocked and maybe a little scared.
What I did not expect was for Drew to be half naked under his covers.

The Unsorcerer
DISCLAIMER: The cover pic is not my original work. Credits goes to the Illustrator. This is a story of a man named Cipher, a 21st Century man reincarnated in a world where magic is the way of life. In the continent of Iarica, the people of this land are able to wield the crystals or magic stones for whatever purpose they desire. These people are called "Sorcerers", blessed individuals who are favored by the Gods and gifted with an ability to manipulate "Mana", the energy of the World and the energy source that makes all of the machines run. Cipher in contrast, is not. He is an "Unsorcerer", a person unable to wield the crystals and mana and eventually magic itself. Because of this "defect", he is shunned, ridiculed, and abused by most people and eventually by the whole society. Little did Iarica and her denizens know, this so-called reject of society is more than what he seems... Note: This humble Author-san is not a native English speaker, so there will be grammatical errors. Also the chapters are short, about 1K words. However I will try my best efforts on reaching the 2k-4k words threshold. Another note is that this will be a Harem fic, so to anyone who are not fan of the genre this may not be your cup of tea. Any criticsm are welcome as long it can help me to improve my writing skills since I'm just a newcomer in this scene.

Spheretesia, a Wanderlust Fantasy
The world just started to produce mana and the magic era begins... at least that's what suppose to happen. Normally it takes time for humans to adapt and develop mana, but before they can even discover it, monsters that are already familiar with mana appear out of nowhere and start to overrun the human population. Follow our protagonist as he does his best to survive against the monsters that invade his homeworld. But is this world really where the journey begins? --------------------------- I just wanted to mention that this is the first light novel that I’ve ever worked on and I’m also just doing this for fun, so I apologize in advance if it isn’t up to par. I also drew the cover myself because I wasn’t sure which pictures were okay to use and I didn’t want to bother with it. So yea, sorry about the amateur drawing (・.・;) In any case, feel free to give feedback and thank you for reading.

The Dreamside Road
Five years after the world fell into chaos, a treasure of artifacts is up for grabs. The relics of the Dreamside Road offer a power that could help rebuild or annihilate what remains. Orson Gregory is an adventurer for hire, but hunts this treasure for answers, not glory. Enoa Cloud’s late aunt helped hide the Dreamside Road, but following in her aunt’s supernatural tradition offers her as much peril as power. Together, Orson and Enoa battle a magic-obsessed militia, clash with a host of rivals, and face constant adventure on their journey to find the Dreamside Road. *Updates Monday and Friday The Dreamside Road is now on TopWebFiction! Vote so people know this exists. _____________________________________ NOTE: The Progression tag applies specifically to Enoa. Also, fair warning, that element doesn't enter the story until she begins her studies. Content: Main characters range in age from teenagers to people in their thirties and older, but it will not contain gratuitous violence or explicit sexual content. It also won’t shy away from implication, anything to make this story and its world feel more real. Characters will freely allude to potentially triggering topics, including living with a disability, facing terminal illness, coping with trauma, surviving societal destabilization, and the consequences of bigotry. At its most intense, the Dreamside Road is a hard PG-13. Worldbuilding: This is not a story with a lot of early exposition scenes, conveniently explaining ‘magic systems’ and political dynamics. Readers will learn, progressively, as the characters do. This story/world has a ‘magic system’, or rather, a set of systems, but the effort to quantify and understand the truth of the setting plays a role in the backstory, as well as in some character motivations. In that same vein, not every character has a firm grasp on the nature of their world, and not every piece of dialog from every character should be taken as entirely truthful Worldbuilding. Also, this isn't the softest Sci-fi. There are at least some basic explanations given for various elements, but Royal Road does not give me a spectrum to choose from. Given the choice between hard and soft, let's just say The Dreamside Road won't be cited in any college Physics papers. Setting and Theme: The Dreamside Road walks the line between fantasy and science fiction and deals with finding one’s place in a changing world. Many of the characters in this story are United States natives and the story begins in the United States, my homeland. However, knowledge or interest in this country is not necessary to understand the story, especially as it progresses. Also, as this is a novel that deals with societal collapse and while that damage may be widespread, in story, I don’t want to overstep and critique the culture of others’ unless I have particular knowledge in a given area. Ultimately, the Dreamside Road is American in the same way Harry Potter is English, fantasies that do not have a full secondary world, but with enough original elements to fully diverge the setting from our the real world.
