I was around 8 or 9 when I discovered creepypasta. It intrigued me and friends a lot as we liked supernatural stuff and often went ghost hunting in abandoned houses in our neighborhood. One of my friends was a little more intrigued by it than the rest of us, more like obsessed, especially with Slenderman specifically. When I was at his house one day, he told me he was having this reoccurring dream of him walking through the woods, losing consciousness then waking up impaled on a tree branch with Slenderman looming over him. He told me he thought the dream meant something and he wanted to search for him. I believed in Slenderman at the time but I didn't think we would find anything, yet I agreed anyway. We got our other friends, some flashlights and began our search. After an hour or two of walking around I got bored and wanted to head inside. When I turned to tell my friend I saw him staring in pure terror towards my neighbors house. I looked in that direction and saw a white face peaking out from the side of the house and a long skinny hand gripping the wall. We all screamed and ran as fast as we could to our houses. The next morning I realized I had dropped my flashlight and went back outside to go get it. I looked back to where we saw the figure and immediately realized what we had actually saw. My neighbor had a tree with big leaves on the side of his house, one was sticking out from around the corner and his garage light reflecting off it made it look white. Long story short, I about pissed myself over a leaf.
