《The Victims⦻》19. [Dream] Strange dream
Advertisement
So, the other week, I had a dream that was pretty creepy in some parts, and in all honesty probably because I've been watching too much tribetwelve, I saw 'Slenderman' in it. He/it mostly just popped up and did typical creepy shit, but one part of the dream really intrigues me. So, I was hiding from...I don't know, some creepy characters that my brain made up in the dream, that probably wanted to kick my ass. So, the Slenderman appeared, and I'm thinking, oh fuck, this guy again, I'm screwed, because he was actually in the room, like a meter from me. And then, when most of the creepy motherfuckers(tm) were standing on the of the room opposite to me and the Slenderman, the Slenderman hugged me. I have no fucking clue why. It just pulled me close and hugged me, and then the tentacle-y/arm/spider things that come out of its back...came out of its back, like it was trying to intimidate the other characters. The craziest thing was how warm and safe this hug felt. Like, it's fucking stupid, and I know it's ONLY because I've been watching too much creepy bullshit and my brain thought, "Hey, let's do this lmfao xd", but that hug was one of the most warming and safe hugs I have ever felt in my entire life, waking or asleep. It was like it was protecting me. The odd thing was it proceeded to scare me/attempt to kick my ass later in the dream, so I have no clue why for that one second it just??? Became less of an asshole, I guess??? I don't know. And NO, I'm not trying to make a 'omg the slender is real!!1!1!1!' point, NO I do not think it's trying to 'connect' or some shit. I just thought it was kind of strange how one second it was trying to kill me, then it made me feel more protected and safe than I've ever felt before...and then went back to wanting to murder me. Oh well. Dreams are weird. I'm tired.

Collective Thinking
Dyna Graves grew up thinking she was special. An exception to the average. Not necessarily above her peers, but simply outside their context. However, toward the end of her high school life, she started to realize that nobody was really special. At least not in any fantastical way. Just as she started trying to figure out what she wanted to do with the rest of her life, she got an invitation. A psychic institute scoped her out, realized her psychic potential, and asked if she would undergo psionic training at the Carroll Institute. Almost immediately, Dyna realized that she wasn’t quite up to the same level as many of her peers. Surrounded by clairvoyants and mind readers displaying obvious abilities made her own lack of ability all the more apparent. That was, up until the researchers and scientists of the facility realized that there was a bit more to Dyna Graves than met the eye. After an explosive incident during what should have been a routine experiment, Dyna quickly found herself wrapped up in a world of cutthroat espionage. The story can also be viewed on my website, https://www.towercurator.com/collective-thinking/. Cover art by Zoern.

A Fate Set in Stone (On Hold)
After dying and making his way into the afterlife, our protagonist happens to have a stroke of good luck. With the help of the substitute god of death, he's given a second shot at life in a world run by gods who probably played too many video games as kids. Monsters, magic, dungeons, bandits, and all that good stuff is there, except it turns out to be much different than Jed initially expected.(I picked some generic tags since this is my first story and I am not 100% sure where it is going to go. Mature warning is only there for some less-than-polite language.)
