《The Victims⦻》6. The Barrier Is Breaking

For those of you who want to know more about the following events, refer to my first entry here. I am quite familiar with the subject of Slenderman, as he has recently become an interest of mine. Recently meaning before this first incident. I've watched the marble hornet videos and I have researched him on plenty of websites, but I always kept the context that he was a fake myth made on the internet for a good scare. Not anymore. This incident and the events I am about to post below have shifted my opinion on what this thing really is.
I went over to my friend's place around 9:30 this night to hang out eat and play cards. After we had played a couple games we were all feeling pretty hungry, so I volunteered to go fetch us some dinner. I just filled up my tank and I like being the courteous one of the group. After I left the apartment complex I thought I saw someone standing by our door. It looked like my friend Eric (name changed for anonymity reasons) so I just waved and went on my way.
About a mile down the road, My car suddenly felt extremely cold. This didn't surprise me too much as the air outside was freezing and the temperature setting on my a/c was in the blue zone. I turned it to just slightly in the red zone and kept going. Not one minute later I suddenly felt the chill again. I checked the temperature. Still in the red zone. My care was blasting cold air. I shut the fans off and the air kept blasting. Luckily I was near the restaurant and wouldn't have to suffer through this for long.
I made it the the restaurant and got out quickly. I was facing the car as I was backing out of the car and I bumped into someone. I jerked around only to find an empty parking space. I brushed off the chill this gave me and went to get the food. I got the food no problem. As I was collecting the food, I looked out the window and saw this shape next to my car. I got very angry, thinking it was a car thief. I went running out the door trying to drive him off. I'm a fairly tough looking guy, despite me not being to tall, but If you saw me charging at you, you would have know it wouldn't be an easy fight. As soon as I crossed the door's threshold however, the shape was gone. At this point, I was extremely on edge.

The car's a/c was finally functioning normally when I got back in, but the entire ride back I couldn't help but feel watched. But nothing happened for the rest of the night I spent at my friend's place.
Finally, around 1 AM I decided it was time for me to head back to my dorm and get some sleep. Right across the street from the apartment complex my friend lives in is an old radio tower, fenced off for danger/vandalizing purposes. As I was pulling out, I thought I saw someone on the other side of the fence. It was a left turn back to my dorms so I was able to pull out farther and get a better look at the guy. When the lights hit the shape, I instantly wished I hadn't gotten a better look.
It was a tall skinny man in a reservoir dogs/men in black style business suit. He looked at least 6 feet tall, probably more. Very pale skin. I could tell his skin was pale because there were absolutely no facial features to distort or shade his skin tone. Even with no face, I could feel that thing's "eyes" or however it perceived the world piercing me as I turned left. I sped up as soon as I was in the right lane and hurried off.
There is an underpass right before the turn onto my campus and I was just reaching it a few minutes later. At this point, I was twitching my head left and right, constantly on the look out for that thing. Then I saw it. Between the two roads passing over me I saw a towering figure. The headlights of the cars above flashed constantly on that thing's blank canvas of a face. I could see it's head turning to follow my car as I passed. Again I sped off and got back on campus.

I finally made it to the hall my room is on. I swiped my key card to get into the hall and I felt a chill rush onto me from down the hall. I got extremely nervous instantly and began power walking to my room. Suddenly, just as I turned the corner of the hall, I see a black skinny blur come right at my face. The sting of cloth rubbed roughly against my face as I was knocked to the floor. I panicked at hopped up as fast as I could to see what did it. Nothing. I spun around completely to get a full view of the hall. Still nothing. I began power walking again. As I'm opening my room, I felt a hard shove and I flew into my room and hit hard tile floor. I slowly turned around and saw that tall dark silhouette right outside my door. Then the door shut quickly and loudly in front of me and I crawled desperately back into my room.
It's been almost 3 hours since this occurred. I'm shaking so badly right now. I've been researching Slenderman and have not yet found anything on getting him to stop stalking you. I know you guys are familiar with these stories. If you have any advice on how to rid myself of this creature, please tell me. I probably won't sleep tonight. I don't want to. I'm afraid I'll dream of him, which happens very closely to the time of a victim's disappearance. I also don't want to give this thing a chance to be near me when I'm vulnerable. Please help. I'm desperate.

Old Riding Author Lunatic Asylum
Just off the A19, in the dark, incomprehensible lands known as Yorkshire, there lies a town. A town where shadow-silent alleys glint with the secret hunger of knives. Where blood soaks the chipboard window shutters of forsaken terraces stretching off into the night. Where the smog-choked air rattles with the depraved laughter echoing out from clubs that can only generously be described as post-apocalyptic. Well, that’s Middlesbrough. But down the A19 a bit (an impossibly long way down, actually) there lies another town: Raughnen, in the ancient, forgotten Old Riding. It is an equal match in muggery and thuggery alike. It also has magic spells and pointy wizard hats. And now, across the miles and across all sensibilities, a pretty nasty power (a magic one) calls out for its pretty nasty counterpart (a decidedly unmagic one): a proper sound Boro lad. Nothing good can come of it. This is a collection of one novella and four connected short stories: I. A Yorkshire Summoning II. Old Riding Day Trip (the novella) III. Heaven is a Parmo IV. Death on the 66 V. Death on the 257 In total, this comprises 34 chapters totalling around 35,000 words, so try not to worry. It will be over relatively quickly. There are three more short stories with more tenuous links to the core collection: Rush, Paper Round and Scenario 79: Sausage Fingers, all of which can be found in my collection Short Records of Misadventure. Reading these may allow you to make more sense of certain parts of the story, if any sense is to be made at all. NOTE: There are instances of prejudice and discrimination within these stories, including elements of sexism and ageism, which are purely the thoughts and actions of the characters involved and which certainly do not reflect my own views on these matters. ANOTHER NOTE; A WARNING, PERHAPS: This can get a bit weird. In less than 150 pages, we have four viewpoints, first and third person narratives, and a completely disjointed plot with lots of gaps, dead ends and no real resolution. Also ZERO lunatic asylums. It's all a bit odd. If that sort of thing isn't your cup of tea, which it most likely isn't, it might be best to move on now.
8 190{The Dragon Within} (Completed)
Meeting his fate at the hands of seven great heroes, the wicked drake now stands in Death's hall. Met with the Grim Reaper itself. Defeated and its pride broken, the drake doesn’t beg or grovel, it simply awaits judgement. It waits for the God of the afterlife to send it on its way, to either the heights of bliss and peace or where it knew it would be sent. The depths of agony and torture, the halls of Tartarus, the father of monsters. Grim looked up from its oaken desk and down at the creature that would have otherwise, if grown wiser and older, matched the reaper itself in power. Its faceless guise, hidden by a black hood and whirling shadows, it briefly stared at the drake. “You are unfit for the sky yet also too fit for the abyss,” Grim spoke, its voice a cracking whisper. “Your time came too soon, the actions you have taken will lead your world to ruin…Be reborn, pitiful serpent. Yet remember what you have done, see what your actions have made that realm into. Let me show you, how your greed and gluttony have warped such a wonderful place and time.” Grim raised its black-feathered pen towards the beast “Be reborn, as the weak pitiful creature you should have been born as. Take this both as a punishment and…a learning experience. For failure, can be the best teacher.” The drake took a step back, hoping to escape this cruel fate. Yet none escaped Death, less so its embodiment. Screaming shadows engulfed his form, ripping away at his body and shape. Fangs of darkness sinking deep into his draconic flesh, warping it, changing him into something else… Opening his eyes, the wicked drake felt none of its power, none of its magic and none of its might. As it stood at the edge of a cliff, looking down upon a ruined valley of rot and miasma. It glanced down at itself, seeing none of its sturdy scales or sharp claws. The drake had been reborn... As a Human. Will also be posting on CreativeNovels found here; CrN Where chapters will be posted earlier than RRL.
8 88The Skies of Aurora (To be rewritten in the future)
The Skies of Aurora A world full of thousands of islands spread throughout an endless sky with no ground to be seen beneath them. Here we find Shawn Blake, who lives a quiet life near a dungeon on the Isle of Fallen Snow. Very few people ever visit the Isle of Fallen Snow because there is only one dungeon that has a connection to the island in all of the endless Skies of Aurora. Thanks to that, Shawn has been able to live peacefully on the island with nothing but his training to worry about, despite being a hybrid of more than one of the five ruling races. However, unfortunately for Shawn, his peaceful life is about to come to an end as some visitors make their way to the Isle of Fallen Snow for reasons unknown. The world of Aurora is a world of endless skies full of floating islands separated by open air with the void far below them, and the only way to get from one island to another is through portals that are located at the end of each dungeon. These portals are connected to the central portal on another island. This book is a litrpg, fantasy, and sky world all in one. I hope you enjoy my book, and I welcome any and all suggestions.
