So yesterday was the straight pride parade in Boston. I assume most if not all of you have heard of it but I figured I'd give my opinion on it.

So basically, in the month of June, tgere were countless pride parades for the lgbt community. Which is fine, I have no problem with that. However, when 3 Boston citizens proposed a parade for straight (heterosexual) pride, people were outraged. Even though the group of people in question, Super Happy Fun America, never said anything anti-lgbt (at least to my knowledge), articles gallored along celebrity tweets mocking this idea and calling the organizers homophobic and other terms of the sort.

To me, there's nothing wrong with it. The whole event is basically straight people saying that they're not ashamed of being straight. Which isn't homophobic in the slightest.

The idea behind the straight pride parade comes from straight people being shamed publically on social media for being straight. One such example of this is a phrase that most of you have probably heard by now "straight white male". This is commonly used to try and shame people who are straight, white and male for being straight, white and male. So the straight pride parade is basically straight people saying that they have no reason to be ashamed of being straight.

During the parade, there were a lot and I mean of counter protesters, including antifa members (basically a extreme left terrorist organization). Considering that nothing hateful was done by the straight pride marchers, I'm on their side.

TL;DR : Some straight people say they're not ashamed of being straight. Leftist protest the parade. I'm with the straight pride marchers.
