My stance on abortion isn't really that special. Sure it's a bit right of center but it isn't extreme. I am against in almost all cases but some I can understand.

If it's because you're "not ready to be a parent", I'm against. If it's for your career, I'm against. If it's because the condom broke, I'm against. If it's because you "can't take care of it" or "don't have enough money", I'm against. If it's because you're single, I'm against. If it's because you're in college, I'm against. If it's because the mother will die, I'll let it slide. Because if both are going to die, might as well kill one to save the other. But if it's because "the baby wasn't viable", I'm against. Simply because viability isn't a consistent stat (a non-viable baby in the hills of Colorado can be viable in New-York City.)

My stance comes from the fact that a baby (or a foetus, embryo, zygote or whatever you want to call it) is a human life or at least potential life. Therefore giving it intrinsic moral value. If let to its natural processes, it will become a living breathing human child. By having an abortion, you are killing a human being.

If your reason for an abortion is that you aren't ready or you can't or something like that, there are solutions for that; there are financial help programs, social services, adoption. If it's to preserve your career, you should've been more careful, don't be selfish. If it's because the condom broke, there's a simple prevention technique called "not screwing". But, and I've said it before, if the mother is going to die, better one dead than two.

I don't think that my view is that extreme. I don't want abortion to be available at a moment's notice, but to be extremely rare and in absolute last resort.
