I came across my cold blooded neighbour while returning home. I greeted him good morning earning a smile from him.
"Considering that we're gonna see each other hereafter, mind telling me your name?" I asked.
"Min Yoongi."
"I'm Y/n."
"Yeah you told me yesterday," He seemed like someone who maintained short convos so I did not want to bother him by asking more questions
When we turned to leave, a huge crowd standing around the restaurant to which I had been to caught our attention.
"This restaurant has never been this crowded before," I heard Yoongi say staring in the same direction.
"Wait, why are cops there?"
We both walked closer to get a clear view.
All of our eyes directed towards the corpse on a metal bed carried by two men. My eyes widened when I heard that it was the owner of the restaurant who I met last night.
"The man's throat was slit and his body was found in the refrigerator," The cops discussed, "The murder had taken place at around 9.15 pm last night."
"Didn't you come here last night?" Yoongi asked noticing my tensed state and I simply nodded.
I speed walked back to my apartment unable to watch the scene. Why does this have to happen right when I set foot in Seoul?
Hastily dialling in my mom's number, I began rambling everything to her because she's the only person I rely on every single situation.
"See? I told you to choose a college here in Busan itself," She repeated what she told me a few weeks ago but I was determined to go on my way anyway.
"Eomma!" I whine.
"What are you whining for? Look Y/n, anything suspicious happens, you're coming back here the next minute!"
"You know that won't happen. Plus I already got my admission in SNU," I proudly said.
"Whatever, just be nice to your neighbours and take care," Her voice softened.

"You too Mom!"
Hanging up the call, I smiled feeling better than before.
The doorbell rang the next second I put my phone on the table.
"Sorry to bother but--" Yoongi paused when I opened the door.
"--do you have some green tea bags?" He asked.
"I guess, hold up," I said going back in opening one of the bags where I stored all my eatables. I pulled out a few tea bags before going back to him.
"Here you go," I hand it over and he nods thanking me.
"Uhm...I heard what you said..." He dragged.
"Heard what? Have you been eavesdropping?" I ask raising one of my brow.
"No I just thought I should wait before you finish your call and that's when I heard what you said."
"Well?"
"I used to experience these kind of strange things too, I even do now," He says sounding serious.
"Huh?"
"Paranormal things they say...."
"Oh I'm sorry! Please come in," Cursing myself for making my guest stand in the entrance, I move to the side to let him in.
"What were you saying?"
"I said that I can see spirits. So my mom took me to a priest and he gave me this," He pulled out an amulet from under his shirt to show me.
"I'm not allowed to remove this. They said that this amulet will protect me from the evil spirits out there."
"Since I heard that you're facing the same problems too, I thought this might help."
"That is so nice of you. Where can I get one?" I asked pointing to the dangling around his neck.
"I'll have to ask my mother for the address."
"Thank you for your help Yoongi. If you'd like, I'll make you green tea," I suggested.
"Sure."
We got to know more about each other for the next 2 hours. Once we were done talking, he said that he would text me the address.

Yoongi was a pretty nice guy if you get to know him. Though he seemed cold in the beginning, he's no where close to that.
⊹─◂▸★◂▸─⊹
Later that day, he texted me the address and also suggested that I stay in his apartment for the night.
Being the understanding guy he was, he knew how much of a challenge it was to live alone having the ability to see ghosts.
I've only heard people have this ability since birth but why does this happen just when I begin my own life?
After pondering for a while, I finally agreed to stay in his apartment just until I get my own amulet.
Around evening time was when I moved to his apartment. This guy somehow gave me that 'brother' vibes so I felt oddly comfortable around him.
"Hey, I don't have anything for us to eat for dinner. So shall we eat out?" Yoongi asks scratching his nape.
"Why don't we order something?" I asked feeling unsafe as last night's scenarios flashed in my head.
"But Y/n, I thought it would be nice if we ate out. I'll take care of you," He requested.
I guess it's fine that I'm not going alone so I got up heading to my apartment to get ready.
⊹─◂▸★◂▸─⊹
"That lasagna was the best!" I exclaim as the taste of it still lingered on my taste buds.
"You're so cute," He smiles and I eye him suspiciously.
Currently we were halfway on our way to the apartment. My eyes spot a black silhouette who was was making his way towards us making me panic slightly.
At the moment, Yoongi's phone rang so he excused himself walking away for privacy.
I stood there waiting for my pale friend while this man walks closer. As he nears, I recognize him as the guy who helped me last night so it kind of relieved me it wasn't a drunkard or a perv.
I flash him a light smile when he locks eyes with me but my smile vanishes when he grabs my hand forcefully dragging me into a nearby alley.
I try to scream but he shuts my mouth with his hand muffling my voice dragging me into an alleyway.
"Stop screaming! I'm not gonna hurt you," He orders holding me against a wall with his hand still over my mouth.
"It's not safe for you to step out of the house alone, especially at this hour," He scolded before removing his hand to let me answer.
Who does he think he is? Just because he helped me last night, doesn't mean he can boss me around.
"Why do you act like you know me when you just saw me last night?" Him ordering me around was getting on my nerves already.
He smirked looking down but I failed to catch that move.
"I came with my friend, not alone," I portrayed confidence in my words.
He chuckled before answering, "That so called 'friend' of yours is not really your friend."
"What do you mean?"
"Check if he has his amulet. If he was your friend, he'd be wearing one right?"
"How do you kn--"
"See you soon," He smirked turning to leave. Whoa that smirk sent tingles down my nerves.
"At least tell me your name!"
"Call me ," He said disappearing into the darkness of the alley.
"Yah! Y/n, where did you go? I thought you disappeared for a minute you know?" Yoongi ranted seeing me hesitantly walk out of the secluded alley.
"Nothing I just saw a cat there," I approached him slowly.
"Hey you have something on your collar," I pretended to dust his collar and adjust it. What I noticed sent a shiver down my spine.
He wasn't wearing an amulet.
I backed off slowly mentally debating what I should do. Without a second thought, I started sprinting away from him.
"Oh Sweetie, how hard I had tried to not reveal myself. Now don't run," He whined as his face completely changed not resembling my neighbour anymore.

Sustaining the King's Life
On a secluded mountain situated upon a kingdom known as Feuersturm, resides a seemingly trifling cabin with an unlikely duo as its inhabitant—a witch, and her apprentice who presumably comes from a clan sought after by slave traders. Faustina is a sixteen-year-old girl who fled the slave market with the help of a sickly witch named Eula, who later on trained her as an apprentice for the span of seven years. Plagued with a mysterious disease for several years, Eula died despite the efforts Faustina had exerted to cure her; in her last breath, she left an odd request behind. "Sustain the king's life. This is your duty. Do not adhere to the prophecy." To which the odd plea shadowed a bizarre series of events, a consequential sentence, similar to that of a premonition. The same night the phrase was muttered, the chain of events followed: A warlock's intrusion to their home, with a peculiar yearning to resurrect Eula from the dead... and the king himself, asking for Faustina’s aid. ** 1-2 chapters a day (GMT+8) ** (The artwork belongs to me. The carnomancer
Jackson was but a normal american just looking to get by in life. unfortunately for him life had other plans as a terrorist bombing took place in the air port in london where he was getting off at. The resulting explosion killed him instantly, and now he has been reincarnated into the world of Rokna. In this new world of magic, monsters, and conflict join him under his new identity Adimir freelancer the adventurer half-elf as he seeks a way to live out an exciting life of researching new and creative ways of combining magic and science. But with a tyrannical empire beginning to prepare for a bloody war the signs of turmoil begin to loom on the horizon. Adimir will face numerous challenges. Both challenges to those native to this world, and against other people have come from earth. Author's comment: I'll be uprfont with you on the entire war thing that the description hints at. Yes it will eventually happen, and many of the strange and out of place things in the beginning will tie into that. Not that it will be explained until much later in the novel. In fact the first 100 or 200 chapters will be spent on the main character growing stronger as an adventurer before the entire war even begins to start rearing its ugly head. So for those eager for the war to kick off sorry, but there won't be a big explosive war so early. At least not with the empire (although if you read carefully you may be able to pick up signs of how close the war is with what happens in the story). But the wait (I hope) will be worth it as it will be diving into some of the stuff a otherworlder in a significant position of power could do with the right knowledge. With that little warning over with I hope you enjoy this novel of mine. Its my first actual attempt at writing a story for people to read so please keep that in mind. If you have any criticism please tell me. I'd love to read them and will be using them to help me in improving my writing quality as time goes on. Experience is the best teacher after all.
