《Her Hidden Self | ✓》27| Thoughts & Resistance

❝She was beautifully out of place.

Sometimes I think, she intended to be.

Like the Moon during the day❞

This was so bad, so so bad. I shouldn't be thinking about her or she shouldn't be in my every single thought, but damn it, she was.

The pang of guilt that hit me straight to the feels, when I laid in my bed that night, after that heated fight in the Gym, was almost suffocating.

I don't know if it was just me, but there was... something. Something about her, something hidden in that anger, something behind those eyes, just something. But taking her to the central field, just to apologize seemed like a pretty stupid idea and not to mention, kinda weird.

I cursed myself to hell and back, when we reached there, but she made me forget all about it. Her awestruck expression under those millions of twinkling lights, erased all of my doubts. As if she had returned to the home after so long.

But I'd like to think, she wasn't in my head because of that or not just because of that. She was dominating my thoughts, my mind because of that goddamn smile too.

Seeing her smile was definitely rare, but boy did I lose it. When she smiled at me, there was a big chance I forgot to breathe for a moment, I had never seen a smile so beautiful. It just made me want to capture that moment-

Wow, easy buddy, go easy. These are some real hard feelings, you are showing here

Whatever, it didn't matter.

Running my hand through my hair, messing up them, I was about to get lost in my thoughts again, when Theodore's voice alerted me.

"We should get going, the girls are on their way"

A Club night was not on our list, in fact it was far away from that. But, Nate's constant nagging about booze and laid, forced us to make plans. And, then we found ourselves getting ready to hit the club.

"Please, try to control your alcohol consumption. Just so you know, I am not gonna take care of your drunken asses" Alex muttered, then looked at the two devils, who for sure were going to be drunk in less than an hour.

"Aren't not you so caring? I knew you had a thing for me. Don't worry though, I won't tell your girlfriend" Nate retorted, raising his hand to ruffle Alex's hair.

But he grabbed his hand, before it even touched his hair and glaring at him, said "Very funny."

"Oh I am funny, very funny in fact"

"Please don't start" I rolled my eyes at both of them, when Theo came standing by my side and sighed

"Did you hear about the chef that died?" Nate grinned, snatching his hand from Alex's firm grip and looked at us cheerfully.

"Here we go again" I murmured as my best friend, standing beside me let out a chuckle.

"No, I didn't," Finn chimed, clearly enjoying it.

"He pasta way" Nate barely managed to spill the words, before bursting into a loud laughter, clutching his stomach. Meanwhile, me and the guys exchanged a bored glance.

"I hope you pasta way" Alex mimicked dramatically.

"Just get in the fucking car, you guys. Am driving mine" I announced, shoving my hand in the pocket of my jeans and walked towards the car.

"Okay, grab the Keyes. We are coming" Nate joked as his howling laughter echoed loudly behind me, making me roll my eyes. Amazing friends I had, by the way.

Declining the offer of a red head, who walked up to me with a seductive smile, offering me to dance with her, I sat down on the stool at the bar. I ordered a martini as my gaze swept up the crowd.

The loud music was drumming against my ears and I let out a chuckle, when I spotted Nate on the dance floor with two girls by his side, who were practically grinding against him, probably wishing he was naked. Gross!

The bartender handed me my drink with a polite nod and giving him an appreciating smile, I turned back to the crowd.

I scanned the crowd taking a sip from the Martini, when my eyes fell on Theo standing there with his girlfriend and the rest. They had just gotten there, it was clear, but what caught my attention was her.

With a confident and guarded expression, she looked around the club, observing the chaos. That red fabric hugged her curves, ending just above her thigh and that V neck cut showed a glimpse of her smooth skin. She was dressed ready to kill.

Her presence demanded every inch of everyone's attention as she stood there with his head held high. But her face told me that she would be anywhere but there.

"Whatcha thinking about?" Finn's voice brought my attention back to reality as I turned my head to see him standing beside me, with a smirk and a glass of Campari in his hand.

I couldn't hold back as the words made their way out of my mouth "Have you ever met a person, who at first glance, you were not attracted to. But, then you talk and and with every word, every smile, every memory, they become more and more beautiful, until you can't believe, there was a moment you didn't think they were?"

Go ahead, be more specific, why don't you? Hell even tell him the name, while you're at it

Ignoring my subconscious, I waited for his reply, thinking maybe I shouldn't have said that.

I raised an eyebrow at him, when he broke into a big grin, showing his full set of teeth and said "Can't say I have, but I know for sure about you."

He wiggled his eyebrows at me, suggesting god knows what his evil mind came up with as I shook my head.

"Forget it" I murmured. Feeling a pair of eyes on me, I looked up and met those blue eyes, staring right through me.

My lips turned into a smirk at her caught off guard expression, when our eyes met under the dancing lights and I raised my glass in her direction.

She shook her head, before turning to Maria who was too standing there, whom I didn't pay attention to. Leaning in, she spoke something in her ear as I watched them, confused.

My posture straightened as I noticed her walking in my direction with slow steps or maybe it was just my imagination. From the corner of my eyes, I saw Finn's smirk widening.

As she got closer the lights shone in those mesmerizing eyes. And god, those ocean blue eyes looked flawless, so intense, that I could cage myself in them and would never want to escape. Her eyes were so deep that I wanted to drown in them and die happily, and wouldn't want it any other way.

Look at you, tryna being all Shakespeare and shit. You better stop right there.

"Well hello there, Winter. You look great" Finn greeted her as she gave nothing, but a blank expression, taking the empty stool beside me.

"Shame, can't say the same about you" She gave him a pointed look, calling the bartender as I chuckled.

Ordering her drink, she sat still observing the surroundings, observing was her thing, I had realized.

"So would you like to dance with me?" Finn asked her with a grin.

Leaning against the bar, I took a sip of my Martini, peering at them.

"I just got here, calm down. Besides, I don't dance" She muttered, shrugging her shoulder and took her drink from the bartender, his visible gawking didn't go unnoticed as she glared at him.

"Well, I guess then it's my cue to leave. You both are party pooper, enjoy yourself" Giving one last smile, he bid his farewell, disappearing in the crowd.

Letting out a sigh, she brought her glass to the lips and took a long, slow sip. Those red painted lips looked so tender and inviting, like red wine and what I wouldn't do just to take a sip and get intoxicated for the rest of my life.

"You are staring" Her voice was so soft, so melodious like a cold featherly caress on my skin on a hot sunny day.

"Ethan?" And my name on her lips sounded like a melancholic lullaby, making me want to listen to it, then sleep forever.

"ETHAN!" Her loud yell, broke me out of my thoughts as I blinked confused.

Way to make a fool of yourself. Keep that shit up and I'll fucking kill you

"Sorry?" I grimaced, reaching up to scratch the back of my neck.

"You are acting weird" She raised a brow up.

Chuckling to hide my weird moment back there, I spoke up "Am not, you are the only weird one here"

I smirked, when she stared at me with a cold expression and huffed "Sure, whatever you think"

Taking the last sip of my Martini, I emptied the glass and put it down on the bar and tilted my head to take a good look at her, sitting there with her legs crossed and the slim glass in her hand. Her hair was loose falling on her shoulder, soft curls playing.

"How come you've been abnormally quiet and nice to me lately?" I asked, watching her scrunch up her nose.

"What do you mean?"

A smirk made its way on my lips as I said "I don't know, you just seem nicer than usual"

"I can punch you in the face, if you want" She clicked her tongue, then a smirk matching mine, came on her face.

Chuckling under my breath, I shook my hand slowly as she continued staring at me, with that sinner smirk playing on her irresistible lips.

~~~
After an hour, I found myself fidgeting with the packet of cigs and watching my friends on the dance floor or getting drunk by the corner seats.
Trying to ignore the suggestive looks from the woman beside me, where a goddess was sitting before, I looked around the crowd.
Searching for her enchanting eyes, it sounded creepy, I know and I didn't mean to be. But, when a person is as beautiful as she is, you can't turn away. You become infatuated by their presence, intoxicated by their appearance.
It was really Inappropriate and so wrong, but I couldn't stop as I got up from my seat, seeking the glow of her soul through the thick sweaty bodies. She had left just minutes after finishing her drink, saying she wants to tell Maria something.
Man you need to get your shit together
Sighing, I tilted my head to search for the exit and made my way towards the gate. The soothing night air welcomed me, just as I stepped out of the crowded place, the loud music slowly turning into soft vibrations.
Slowly stepping to the corner, I took out a tobacco stick and reached to my pocket for the lighter, when my eyes caught her.
She was standing under the moonlight, making stars jealous, before beginning to walk. Where was she going?
"Wait!" I called out, moving towards her with quick steps
She twirled around with a questioning gaze, "What?" She asked, impatiently.
"Where are you going?"
"Back to my Dorm" She shrugged.
Engulfing my hands in my pocket, I kicked the small pebble away and arched my eyebrow at her "Alone?"
I rolled my eyes at her stupidity, when she nodded in agreement and offered her "It's not safe, let me drive you"
Giving me a weird look, she muttered quietly "It's alright. I'm walking there"
"Walking?"
"Yeah, I mean it's a peaceful night and I could really use a walk, right now. Though, you can join me, if you'd like. Do you want to?"
She was Madness and in her fierce eyes, there was an uncharacteristic twinkle of craziness, when she looked at me like that, fearless and bold.
How could I resist such a thing?
I swear, this headache will be the death of me. Ugh gimme a fucking break. Never mind.
